I can't believe it took until halfway down the second page for someone to mention a REAL pet peeve at the gym. I loathe people who don't wipe down the gear after they are done. I work out at a Y and they have not only paper towels but also disinfectant bottles everywhere. It takes 10 seconds, people! Wipe your nastiness…

Another thing is don't assume that a certain food has a certain number of calories. I once ordered Beijing Beef at Panda Express thinking it wasn't THAT bad. Turns out it has more calories than a Big Mac! oooops.

off and running my daily 3 miles at 6 freaking 30 am or earlier. If I go to the gym I have to be up at 545am. sucks having a kid that needs to be at school by 730. both the wife and I are night owls so this has been a rough adjustment. :P

I started it several years ago (before getting married, kids, and gaining it all back and starting all over again) at about 245. Started running again this year at about 240 but didn't follow C25K. I can now run a 5k at a 9.5 minute per mile pace. I rule.

I've been running for several months (and having lots of success), but I'm also a desk jockey and now I'm starting to feel pain in my hip flexors too. You have to add the strength training as a cardio activity to get credit for the calories burned.
