Keep us all posted, guys! I haven't bought any of the programs, but am doing Tabata work-outs at home and I am going to try it out at the gym this coming week too. Good luck all!

You can do it! Sounds like you have a good base to builf off of. I would look at the "couch to 5k" training and see where your ability level is within that training plan and start from there. Here is an example plan: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml GOOD LUCK!!

Welcome! Way to go on your success so far!!!

What a great gift idea and way to help your friend eat healthy! I would just get her a regular size one as I can't tell you how many times I have filled mine to the brim (when I was living alone) and brought it to share with others at parties or work. She can cook smaller amounts in it for sure, she may need to adjust the…

Agreed about the crazy diets. I got stuck on the same thing- my body was telling me I wasn't eating enough so I stopped losing. Eat healthy and stay active. Sounds simple, but it is tough to find that balance between starving yourself and not over-indulging. You can do it!

CONGRATS! KEEP IT UP!

Agreed! I had the same question and when I go out for sushi now, I just try to order something that doesn't have tempura in it and california roll crab mix is made with mayo, so I stay away from that if I can as well. Fish, crab, etc., with out a crazy amount of cream cheese seems like the best choice to me. Good luck!

Welcome!!! this is a great site...and gets you thinking about the choices you make for the entire day, not just one meal- I love it! My short-term goal is to look decent in a swimsuit when I go to Costa Rica in a month...and keep going from there! Here's to getting in swimsuit shape!
-
I am in! I am leaving for Costa Rica on the 27th of March and would LOVE to leave ten pounds in the states! :-)

My understanding is that doing chest exercises will firm and tone your muscles, which can lift your breasts and tone a bit, but of course there will still be the fat tissue over the top.

Thank you for sharing! It sucks feeling like you had a "weak" day, but you've made some great strides so far and sharing helps all of us remember we are human and going to slip up and that is ok...she just get back on the horse the next day. Our fitness will be that much more rewarding!!!!

Ditto here on the working hard andnot seeing any less weight on the scale-- we'll keep working at it and get over the speed-bumps!

The soccer team I coached put this on the back of their warm shirts last year: "I gave all I had today. What I held back I lost forever."

You HAVE to be proud of yourslef for already losing over 40 pounds! How great for you! It is completely natural to want the process of school and "life" to speed up, but try not to let something out of your control send you completely over the edge. The GOOD thing is that you miss your husband!!!! That is great that you…

On my rest days I just try to eat as many veggies and salads aspossible when I am hungry so I don't over do it. Yesterday was my rest day (I still walked about a mile or two with my dog at the park) but I have a tough timenot eating during the time I am usually working out. I am playing indoor soccer tonight, so I will be…

Hey guys, sounds like we are all having our ups and downs. I know I am trying to eat less, but the more I think about it, the more I want to eat. I am trying to eat a salad or a fruit if I want to snack, which is an improvement. At this point, I am just frustrated that I am working out everyday and not seeing the weight…

We bake or BBQ them with a little bit of dill, lemon, garlic and low-fat mayo on top of them- yum! cooking time depends on thickness of fish- we always use a thermometer though as well. A little brown sugar, onions and lemon is good as well, but I am not a big fan of "sweet" so I don't use that often, or use much sugar…

Well, I agree that every four years it is historic, but I am optimistic nontheless.

I am in! Especially since dinner out with the in-laws was impossible to pass up tonight!

Hey guys! We can do this! One thing I started doing that seemed to work was to work out in some way while I am watching the biggest loser. Like doing sit-ups orlifting weights or using the exercise ball in some way. It sure helped me to watch other people struggling WAY more than me. LETS DO THIS!
-
Yeah- I would like a rundown too if that is ok, or a point in the direction to find the info. I am guessing it is weekly weigh ins and are we doing some kind of fitness log as well or what? Whatever it is, I am happy to have some accountability with my weight loss (or lack of!) -S

I just got the Wii Fit and have had been using Wii sports a bit, but not as much as I should.I am just hoping that as I "unlock" more things, you can exercise forlonger time periods before you have to stop and pick another thing to do--that messes with my pace. We'll see! My friend did get the Jillian game and says it…

Pick me, Pick me! So what is the format? How often do we send weights and whatnot? Thanks for setting this up! -Shena

Did you get a CPM machine? Continuous passive movement... I had that for my ACL surgery and it helped to keep my knee and leg muscles moving...evening when I was asleep! If you didn't get one, ask your PT or your ortho doctor about it. I wish you the best on your recovery :)

Grab those hand weights and do as much of that as possible. And yes, for a few days...depending on what kind of surgery you are going to have, you aren't going to be running any marathons, so work on those isometric exercises. You will be surprised how quick;y you lose your muscle mass when you aren't using it. Work on…

Welcome! Pretty much the same story here! Busy teacher, food is my weakness! Good luck and keep us posted!
