My three little ones are grown now, and the medical advise might have change. 20 years ago though, my MD told me that breast feeding uses about 500 calories and suggested a 2000 calorie diet. Keep in mind to that breastfeeding breasts add weight to the scale. Drink lots of water and keep it up. The benefits of walking are…

I have a shake weight and use it a couple of times a week. I have it under the couch and use it off and on while watching t.v. My teenage children find my using the shake weight disturbing and amusing. Like with any piece of fitness equipment it only works when you work it.

I would really suggested looking to upgrade or change your foot wear. Maybe rotate muscle groups that you are working on. Zumba one day then weight training the next. Two days of the same work out make me feel too sore and too discouraged to go for a third day. Keep it up! I started and still am heavier than you. We can do…

I am not finished with my weight loss yet, but I've learned: - Moving feels GREAT! - Water isn't as bad as you think. Plus drinking a ton of it helps keep your skin nice and your belly feel fuller. - You can do this!!! - Log, Log, Log and be honest with yourself and your MFP friends - Cheer your MFP friends and they will…

Great job! Thank you for the encouragement.

I think it has more to do with how long you've had a bad habit compared to how long you've been changing. After two and a half months, it is a heck of a lot easier for me. Plus I feel so much better! So much more energy, sleeping better and physically and mentally stronger. Also, I am finding that I can deal with stress…

Lol! That's because everyone does truly have a different definition! For some they choose less processed foods, for others they eat no processed foods, others consider it eating organic even if a bit processed. My personal rule of thumb is raw fruits and veggies and less processed foods. It really depends on what fits your…

I hear ya sister! It is tough to get it all done, work, eat healthy and still get a work out in. Here are some suggestions that have helped me: - Cook for the week on your day off. Many foods are less expensive in family sizes. Freeze cooked chicken in single servings for your lunches and in larger portions for family…

I didn't give up coffe, but I did change how I drink it. No more flavored creamers, just unsweetend almond milk and sweetener. I don't miss the over sweet coffee and cutting out the cream gave me a chance to use the calories to eat something healthier.

Thank you for sharing!

Yes! Thank you for being willing to do this.

It helps me to do my cooking on Sunday. I cook chicken breasts, chopp veggies, cook sweet potatoes and make diet coke brownies. Then I freeze most of it. During the work week, I use the freezer stash to make stir fry, to jazz up salad, put over couscous or to mix with low sugar spaghetti sauce over noodles with smoked…

I have been using cottage cheese in place of ricotta cheese, so far my family hasn't noticed.

I am on my second month of becoming a healthier me and struggle with night time binges also. It helps me to keep out of the kitchen. I think about all the healthy choices I have made during the day and promise myself not to undo because I am bored. I keep the dumbbells near the couch and do reps while drinking water. If I…

I am new too. I just had my one month anniversary of moving forward towards fitness. I started as a completely sedentary person and now I bike, walk and weight train. I was very sore at first. My suggestions are to vary your workout so that you are using different muscle groups, if it hurts rather than just burns stop it…

I second the almond milk. Also switching whole milk to 2% and the beef to leaner cuts. Keep up the water volume and the food logging. Congratulations on you progress so far and best of luck to your journey to a healthier you!

I use the recipe feature in the food dairy or add each item seperately. I hope that helps. Welcome!

Yes! The hunger does go away, the cravings do lessen. What are you eating during the day? You may not be taking in enough. How is your water intake? How is your energy level?

My puppies love to "dance" with me. They also love going for their "3 mph walking a dog". Any other time I am working out they just watch and look concerned and confused.

Binge eating is a very common eating disorder. I struggle with it. Weekends and night times are the most difficult for me. I am only one month into my journey towards a healthy lifestyle. Since eating habits are difficult to break, starting now rather than later will help you reach goals for the rest of your life. Here is…

I had a similar problem, I was actually gaining weight. Are you able to see a doctor? My doctor ran some blood work, gave me a physical and then put me on a diet that I would never suggest without medical supervison. After two weeks my calories were bumped up and the weight has been slowly coming off. Most importantly…
