jrmie333 asked would you mind sharing your new keto dinners ideas plz? Just like i m training myself or no rice, no pasta, no carbs and just veggies.[/quote] Sure- it's still a work in progress, but here are a few of my dinner menus. I find it easier to plan a whole meal than it is to just focus on individual recipes.…

One of the reasons I like keto is that if I regulate carbs, the calories stay down as well because I'm satisfied and don't feel the need to eat more. It did take several weeks to get the that point however, so if you are just starting you probably are still dealing with hunger. Tracking calories along with carbs is fine,…

I started IF a few weeks ago and it's working well for me. I'm doing 16:8 because I'm not usually hungry at breakfast, so just eating lunch and dinner works well for me. The other day I planned a late lunch, got tied up at work and ended up getting home so late I decided to just wait for dinner, so I had an almost 24 hr…

You're a good cook, so you'll LOVE preparing keto meals. Chop up some onions and peppers and saute them in olive oil- you don't need to worry about limiting the amount of olive oil. Add some cabbage, cover and and let it cook- cabbage doesn't have a lot of carbs, so be generous. Then saute some pork chops- instead of a…

On any diet you need to be sure you get essential nutrients- the biggies are protein and essential fatty acids, plus assorted vitamins and minerals. Calories are available from carbs, fats and protein. A keto diet encourages the body to use fat rather than carbs or protein to meet energy needs. While there are some studies…

I'm not that familiar with FMD but I understand it is low protein. Keto should be low carb, but normal protein- for most people 1 g protein/lb body weight is a good estimate. You can drop that to 0.8 g/lb body weight if you are sedentary or obese. Also, on keto, carbs are usually about 10% of daily calories, not 35-45% as…

Fantastic progress! I've just been working on this about a month, and I've only lost a few pounds so I'm a bit jealous, but I haven't been as dedicated as you have been. My progress will be a bit slower, but I'll get there! Thanks for sharing.

There are several possible reasons that their TDEE is higher than yours. 1) They are younger 2) They are male and you are female 3) They are less sedentary 4) Your RMR is lower 5) You have some degree of insulin resistance- I'm sure there are other reasons, but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I think reasonably fast is fine IF you plan ahead to transition from diet to maintenance. There are also issues with decreased metabolic rate associated with significant calorie reduction that can contribute to weight gain after a substantial loss. Whether you lose fast or slow, maintaining your weight loss will require a…

If meat grosses you out, then keto is probably not the best option for you. It is possible to do a vegetarian keto diet, but it would be challenging. I like keto precisely because I don't consider any meal complete unless it includes meat, fish or poultry! I enjoy lots of good veggies too, but I would always feel deprived…

Raspberry ketones won't do much for you. I'm not a body builder but I do know that Intermittent Fasting (like the Leangains program) helps with losing fat and maintaining muscle.

My go to in between meals snack is celery. If you specifically want something sweet, you might try watermelon. Since it has so much water and some fiber, you get a lot more volume for the same calories of a cookie. You can even freeze it to make a watermelon popsicle!…

One of the things I am trying to work on right now is paying attention to signals of hunger and satiety. When I eat a lot of processed foods, I ALWAYS feel hungry, even when I am starting to feel full. By focusing on better food choices I am able to recognize when I'm satiated, and I don't feel the same driving hunger. I…

Stick with basic table salt and bouillon like you're doing and you'll be fine. DO NOT use potassium chloride (low sodium salt substitute) or mess around with potassium supplements. It's much easier to overdo potassium, so you'll just stress yourself out worrying about it, and it could potentially interfere with some…

I (re)started keto/low carb after a long hiatus. Worked well for me before, but I surprisingly enough hamburgers, french fries and soft drinks are not a suitable maintenance program! I started up a couple of weeks ago, and my appetite has leveled off so I'm at a good place now and no longer experiencing the constant hunger…

I've just been doing IF for a week- I just skip breakfast, then eat lunch and dinner. We usually have a late dinner, but if I'm through by 9 pm and I get lunch at noon-1pm I've got a good 15-16 hrs. fast. Lunch and dinner both include protein and fat. Daily carbs are between 20-50- I like cheese too much to stay below 20!

I checked a height weight chart and at 5'9" even with a small frame the low end of the healthy weight range is 129 lbs. Are you sure you actually have belly fat to lose? Maybe you could get your body fat percentage checked at a gym or by a trainer- I expect you are where you are supposed to be.

I suggest she try a low carb approach- it's easy and will help her lose some weight quickly while she Figures out a way to track her food intake, exercise, etc. There are several low carb diets to choose from ( Atkins, south beach, protein power, etc) but my husband and I have had great success with the following simple…

I think over indulgence in occasional treats along with lack of exercise is the key- I was in much the same situation earlier this year. After a car wreck I quit my daily walking and started "fudging" on my diet quite a bit. No weight loss for a month or more. I had been successful losing weight even when being pretty lax…

I started a very low carb diet in early June, gradually increased carbs to a moderate level and lost 18 lbs by mid Sept. I went off the diet after a car wreck and gained back about 4 lbs,- that is the water weight that comes rushing off the first week or so, and comes back just as quickly when you drink Dr Pepper…

Walking everyday is not only okay, it 's a really good idea. every other day is for strength training or much more intense cardio.

Some symptoms might be due to diet change- with a dramatic drop in carbs you can expect to feel tired for several days, and many people have headaches for a couple of days. Your symptoms seem more severe and are likely due to the med- it may just take time to adjust, but check with your doctor.

If you don't feel hungry, then you don't need to eat back your exercise calories- I notice a lot of people recommend only eating back about half of the exercise calories if you are getting hungry or fatigued. I'm duly impressed by your strength training routine- that should help you tone, but you do need more protein to…

It is normal for the rate of weight loss to slow down as you approach your healthy weight- it's kind of like your body putting on the brakes to keep you from losing so much that you are under a healthy weight. The advice to change things is good and will help, but don't be dismayed if you don't keep losing as fast as you…

I don't think you can lose more than about 20 lbs in a month, but the fastest way to lose would probably be to follow a low carb plan like Atkins induction. Many posters on MFP do not like low carb diets, but they are an effective way to lose large amounts of weight in a relatively short time, and they tend to work well…

On the whole I think your plan is good. while intense cardio burns more calories, you may actually burn more fat with low intensity like walking- look up info on Non Exercise Activity Thermoneogenesis for ways to include low intensity activities in your daily routine.
-
I think you are referring to intermittent fasting. Whenever you go for an extended time without eating (like overnight) you will be using fat more than glucose until you eat. If you exercise in moderation during that period, you may burn a little more fat. High intensity exercise is going to use glycogen, or muscle protein…

Like others I think you may need to eat more to keep up with your exercise plans. some sources recommend 1 gm protein per pound of LEAN Body Mass (not per pound total body weight) for people doing lots of exercise, and/or increasing your carb/ calorie intake to support intense exercise. It is possible for a 6 ft tall man…

If you are referring to a low carb diet, the yes- I'm eating low carb and having good results lost 15 lbs this summer. I started with really low carbs, like Atkins induction. As I've been increasing my exercise, I've added in a little more carbs, especially after exercising, but I'm still low enough to be in ketosis. I…

Atkins, or another low carb plan, may be a good fit for both of you. My husband and I have been eating low carb for about 2 months and have lost 15 lb(me) and 20 some odd lbs(hubby). we both find it easy to identify and avoid carbs, and both enjoy the freedom of adding a little butter to veggies or using salad dressing…
