  • Hey there! :) I've been diagnosed with clinical depression for the past 8 years, so I know what you're going through. For me, however, I find the antidepressants make me lose all my cravings. Weird, right? But maybe it's the medication I'm on - Cymbalta. What antidepressant does your doctor have you on? I've tried almost…
  • First of all, congrats! :D As for exercise, my doctor told me when I was pregnant that if you did it before pregnancy, you can do it during, as long as it's not lifting and it doesn't feel uncomfortable. Heck, I did taekwondo during my pregnancy! lol. (Granted, none of the sparring, but I was kicking and all. Just no…
  • I have an awful time with water too. :( My mom used to call me a camel - I can go all day without getting thirsty, so I have to actually remind myself to drink something. I wound up setting a reminder on my computer for every three hours, lol. I still don't get 8 glasses, but I get a lot more than I would otherwise.
  • Drop one pant size. (Go to a size 6) Run 2 miles in 15 minutes Do all 60 kata sets at full power without feeling exhausted. :P Be able to hold a metal katana out properly after drawing it for more than 10 seconds. >_< haha. Those things are SO heavy.
  • Hi! I'm 5'4 and 145. My goal is 135-ish to start, and if I make that I want to go down to 128. Feel free to add me. :)
  • I haven't been brave enough yet to post a stretch-mark-baring picture, but you're more than welcome to be my friend. :D I've been a mom for 2 1/2 years, and my poor belly STILL isn't back to normal. :P
  • I had the exact same issue when I started. My advice? Go talk to your doctor about it. My problem is likely not yours, but I'll tell you what solved it anyway - I had depression, and hyperthyroidism. (Which used to be Hypothyroidism, but my levels changed randomly.) I got my thyroid meds fixed, and went on some…
  • Thanks guys. :) I'm certainly not trying to stay Hyper, but I was concerned that losing the weight might be harder. It's nice to hear that it might very well not be the case if my levels actually become 'normal'. I will, however, have to check with my doctor about what tests he's performing to diagnose me. It's been ages…
  • I like to reward myself with a haircut, or a dye job, or new makeup - something to make me feel beautiful. :) I told myself when I drop my 10lbs, I get to go have a really expensive shampoo, haircut, and blowout. A little pampering after all the hard work sounds perfect to me. :)
  • :D I meditate. It's not nearly as weird as you might think. Just find a position you can keep, close your eyes and focus on one image - or just focus on your breathing. Every time you do it, sit the exact same way, maybe even in the same place, and think about the same image, or focus on your breathing. Don't let your…
  • 10 lbs seems like a lot, honestly. I only ever gain 2-3 lbs with hormonal fluctuations. If you're seeing a 10 lb increase, you may want to speak to your doctor and make sure there isn't something else at play, even if it seems tied to hormones. Just a thought, anyway.
  • Six months after giving birth, my husband returned from Afghanistan. I decided I was more than ready to get back into Taekwondo, so I put on my dobok and away I went! 30 seconds into the jumping jacks, I felt something odd - was I WETTING myself?? To my mortification, I was!! I quietly snuck out and went home. A female…
  • My husband is a stick. He's always been a stick, and he'll always be a stick. I've gotten used to that. What kills me is when he fills the house with junk food. :P But I got lucky! We were discussing my depression the other day, and he asked what I thought were my triggers. I told him stress, hormones, and my body weight.…
  • ^--This. Again, haha. It's actually my Ren Faire costume, but I love it too much not to take an excuse to wear it again, haha! Only this year I'm making a really cool mask to go with it.
  • Also be careful with multivitamins! Holy cow, I took one in the evening once, and was awake ALL NIGHT. Silly B vitamins keeping me awake. But all that aside, there must have been something about the world making it hard for everyone to sleep, because I've seen tons of people complaining they couldn't sleep last night.
  • My husband is the best ever. lol. I was having the worst PMS ever a couple of weeks ago - crabby and cramping and tired and probably miserable to live with - and he comes home from work during his lunch break with a HUGE Oreo Blizzard. Haha! Not so good for my waistline, but it's little things like that telling me that he…
  • WoW here and there - though I'm getting a bit bored after six years on it. >_> I've leveled every class to 85. Sigh. Not sure if I'm going to get MoP or not. When I'm not in WoW, I watch my hubby playing ME3. lol. I can't stand those types of games myself, but I love watching him play through it.
  • ^--This. If I'm on here reading about people trying to be healthy and lose weight, the chance I'm going to go eat a cookie drops dramatically. :P So I consider my addiction a healthy one. ;)
  • Ender's Shadow. For like, the 1000th time. OSC never fails to enthrall me.
  • Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias!
  • Adam Levine >_> Edit because I can't make the gosh-dang picture work. >_< Edited a million times until it finally worked. :P
  • I have a punching bag in my basement. ;)
  • When my dad was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, and I realized that if I didn't change my eating habits and try to stay fit for my whole life, I could go through the same thing in 20 years. I'd been depressed anyway, and I'd dyed my hair and cut it and done everything I could think of to like how I looked. And finally I…
  • Dawn dish soap. Seriously - it may take some time, but it comes off! (also works if you mess up dying your hair. lol.)
  • I'm going to re-suggest the self defense classes. Not only is it great exercise, but being trained myself, I can verify that it takes very little to deter someone. Will it help you if they have a gun? No. But let's face it - that that point, you're probably already in trouble. Whether you decide to carry a stun gun, a…
  • I've always had really strong thighs, thanks to my martial arts, and I had SUCH a hard time finding jeans back when I was all thin with strong legs. :P One brand to try that I ADORED was American Eagle. They don't fit me as well now that I've put on "jiggle" in the behind and thighs, but when I was all in shape they fit…
  • Yay, congrats!
  • Oh, I hear you on the Cheese thing. That was the hardest part of starting this for me - learning to cut down on my cheddar. :( Feel free to add me and we can lament the lack of cheesy goodness together. ;)
  • 1) I have Cerebral palsy. (Yes, this counts - it's so mild most people can't tell I have it.) 2) At any given time I have some sort of daydream going on in my head. :P 3) I can get a sunburn in five minutes flat. 4) I am a HUGE nerd. Video games. "Nerd" movies. LARPing. Ren Faire. Like, huge nerd. 5) I love thunderstorms.…
  • I was born with Cerebral Palsy. Most people with CP can't walk without help, and some can't even feed themselves. I, on the other hand, am an accomplished martial artist and the only people who can tell I have it are specialist doctors and swim teachers. ;) I had an amazing neurologist, and my mom was REALLY stubborn about…
