  • I have no idea what week I'm on, haha! Week five or six, I would imagine. Weekly Goal: 4000 Mon: calories burned (how they were burned) Tues: calories burned (how they were burned) Wed: calories burned (how they were burned) Thur: calories burned (how they were burned) Fri: calories burned (how they were burned) Sat:…
  • You *can* do it, but I suggest setting it a little higher than that, since your BMR is what you'd need if you were in a coma, and nobody here is in a coma. :) Maybe add 100 calories to it and then eat back your exercise calories. OR. Another option is to figure out your TDEE using this site:…
  • Weekly Goal: 4000 Mon: 452 (Karate, sumo squats, jumping jacks, frog hops) Tues: 1200 (karate class) Wed: 478 (kata, stretching, jumping jacks, pushups) Thur: Had to take an unscheduled rest day. My body was exhausted. :( Fri: 1200 (karate class!) Sat: 1413 (4 hours of frigging ripping out laminate flooring installed…
  • The Voice... but only for the auditions! I swear! I just love hearing Blake Shelton and Adam Levine fight each other for a contestant. It's really funny! Clean House iCarly ::blush::
  • Sumo squats and jack knifes and frog hops.
  • I try not to snack, but if I get really hungry between meals I keep baby carrots around. Delicious, healthy, and easy to grab in a hurry. :)
  • Boot cut, unless, ironically, I am wearing boots. Then I wear skinny jeans so I can tuck them in comfortably. In the summer I wear shorts, but they can't be shorter than mid-thigh, because I feel that as a mother of a little girl it would set a bad example.

  • Down to my last 10-ish! I think my ticker says I have 5 to go, but I'm actually aiming for 125, if I can get there again, and right now I'm 134.5. Feel free to add me. :)
  • Only giving myself one "treat" a day - and only at night! Knowing it's coming has helped me to avoid cravings during the day so I can easily stay within my calories.
  • "Your Body is a Wonderland" Ugh. and an extra: "Born This Way" or anything by Gaga. Except the one where she sings about being too drunk to know where she is. I find that one hilarious.
  • In karate class, after we warm up and stretch a bit, we sit in a line and meditate. Complete silence, and everyone is supposed to be super serious. Well, after waking up my body I'm ALWAYS a little gassy, but mostly it's just silent and odorless. Recently I had eaten a burrito later than normal, not long before class. We…
  • I do karate 6 days a week, which I consider a little strength and a lot cardio, thanks to some ankle and wrist weights I use, and then alternate sumo squats/frog hops and pushups/free weights every other day, and throw in ab exercises every few days.
  • Time has nothing to do with weight loss. :) The only reason we say to weigh in during the morning is because that's when you've gone the longest without food and water so you'll see the most consistent results, but a little snack before bed isn't going to hurt you. Eat up and enjoy!

  • Like someone above me said, I just stopped weighing from the moment I saw my weight go up until about halfway through my cycle. It's usually pretty much gone by then, and I make myself work out extra hard as motivation. My favorite part is when the weight goes away, and I find I have a lower weight than before it began. ;)
  • If you have the app, it has a weekly tracker. As long as THAT doesn't go over, I wouldn't worry too much about a day-to-day overage, no matter which day you add the calories to.
  • My mother is similar. The way I approached it was this: I talked about my weight loss often, showing her I was doing it and it was working. Naturally, she talked about hers. That was fine, I just listened. Then I waited for the inevitable weight gain, and sure enough, it happened. She naturally complained about it, and…
  • During hurricane Sandy, I was sitting in my husband's grandmother's house watching my daughter play with her cousins. I caught sight of myself in a mirror, and sat staring for a while, thinking, "I used to be pretty. I used to be happy. Now I just want to lay down, go to sleep, and never wake up again." I was in the middle…
  • When I married my husband, he didn't want kids. At all. It took several years into our marriage for him to come to agree with my desire, but he did it in his own time, with only minimal prompting from me. My advice is to make sure you discuss your health with him, and then talk about your financial security. When will you…
  • :) Congrats. My husband's first deployment, "Love Me When I'm Gone" was all over the radio, and every single time I would start sobbing uncontrollably. I wound up only listening to CD's by the end of the 15 months we were apart, so I commend you on your strength to hear it at all, and hope for his safe return. :)
  • My daughter wakes up around 8 or 9. I have to take my thyroid medication on an empty stomach, and keep it empty for an hour (except for a full glass of water.) By the time I'm allowed to eat, it's generally 10am, and by that time, I figure why not just wait for lunch? So I almost never eat breakfast, or I eat "brunch" and…
  • Ohhhh, warriors. Warriors are so OP, but SO much fun! I don't really have a guild, but I hope you find one!
  • Yay for Taekwondo ladies! :D I adored my taekwondo classes! I can now do 54 sets of kata instead of only 49. ;) That's karate stuff, for those who were wondering. Guess all that extra practice payed off, eh?
  • Guys! (And gals!) We're a group now! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/12259-3500-calorie-burn-challenge This week's challenge is there. :)
  • I like to daydream, (I *ahem* won't mention what about) and I'm tired of imagining myself thin. :( I woke up one day and said, "Why can't I just GET thin? There's nothing stopping me!" So here I am! :) (Side note, this is also one of the reasons I learned martial arts and how to fight with a sword - I wanted to BE that bad…

  • I'm not an expert, but I've read that when you're tired, you're more likely to munch. ::shrug:: I know I try to get 9 hours a night if possible, and it helps my energy so I can keep active.
  • When I worked retail, any time I wasn't busy I'd do ten pushups. Sure, my coworkers looked at me funny, but it made me feel better. Even if you can only do one, you'll improve really quickly. :) Any exercise is better than nothing, right? I don't know what kind of work you do, but I bet you could find little exercises to…
