  • I'm a legal assistant at a law firm so I sit all day at work, too, and my husband is currently between jobs so most things are done for me at home as well. Feel free to add me!
  • I drink Herbalife's meal replacement shake most weekday mornings for breakfast. Honestly, I probably wouldn't eat breakfast if I didn't drink it. Maybe it doesn't actually take more time to make some eggs or something but in my mind the shake is easier. Only you can decide if it is right for you. We don't know your…
  • That is typically what I eat. Breakfast Either a meal shake or some milk and a banana Snack Apple, yogurt or some multigrain crackers and hummus Lunch Salad with lots of veggies and low-fat dressing Snack Luna Bar Dinner Chicken or Pork Veggies Potatoes I don't usually have a snack after dinner unless I need the calories.
  • If you're going by proper wedding etiquette, it's actually not correct to put Cash Bar on the invitation, you should include a link to a wedding website and make sure to include the Cash Bar there. Personally, I don't care if you put it on the invitation, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest because then I wouldn't have…
  • You could always do beer and wine for your guests but open it up to everything for the wedding party only. I think that's what my friend did at her wedding. I didn't pay much attention because I don't drink but I think that's what she said.
  • I have knee issues, too. To continue running - I suggest going to a specialty running store and have them analyze the way you run and get the best shoes for you. Also, try rhythmic breathing, breathe in for 3 steps and out for 2. This not only increases your oxygen level but it also begins your exhale (the most jarring…
  • I'm on Week 5 Day 2. Starting a new week is scary for me but I am always surprised by how (fairly) easy the new workout is. I only do the program the 3 days a week that it suggests, especially for new runners (like you and I) it's important to not overdo it and cause injuries. The other 2 days that I workout I do some like…
  • I haven't had to use the gym showers yet as I workout on my way home from work and just wait and shower when I get home, but if I went in the morning or on my lunch I would definitely use the gym shower. The showers at my gym have two sets of curtains, an outer one that blocks your possessions from general view and an…
  • I'm on Week 5 Day 2. Moving from one week to another is always scary, but I constantly surprise myself with how much I'm able to do. My legs and butt are firming up and looking great! haha. At first, I was heel striking and getting shin splints from it, so I slowed my pace and began rhythmic breathing and they went away…
  • I'm 23. Three years ago I was carded going into a PG-13 movie and aside from being heavier, I look the same. So I guess I still look like I'm in my early teens, especially without my glasses. It'll be great when I'm older, but right now it's a little insulting. lol
  • I'm told it's hard to consciously change your strike. That being said, when I started running a few months ago I was a heel striker and had shin splints from hell. When I slowed my pace and began rhythmic breathing, my shin splints went away and I noticed that I'm midfoot striking. If you're just walking and not running,…
  • I bring stuff in to work because I love to bake and don't need it all at home, obviously. But I just stick it in the kitchen and whoever wants it can eat it, if they don't want it, they don't have to. I don't go around to everyone and say EAT THIS. lol But, also, since I've started my healthier lifestyle, I try to make and…
  • I don't know what negative side effects there can be from consistently going over on sodium but I do know that if you drink more water, it helps flush the sodium out of your system. So the days you're over, drink more water.
  • For those who don't know (pretty much everyone except emboch), I'm already married. I got married in August 2012, but I just love seeing what other people are planning for their weddings and helping out if I can. Our theme/colors changed a few times. First the colors were purple because I found a super cute summer dress to…
  • I'm the same way. I hate going to the gym and feeling all self-conscious. But I joined a gym just last week. I love it. I do hate it when people say "no one is looking at you" because I know I look around at other people. But I don't judge. I'm just a people watcher, I just like to see what they're doing and how they're…
  • Honestly, I'd buy a decent sized lunch box (there are some that will hold about a 6pack of soda and only cost $8-$10) and make some sandwiches or wraps to stick in there for the meal. That way you've got the cooler for the beverages, and a small lunch box for any food you may want to keep cool.
  • ^ This! If he was trying to subtly inspire you to lose weight, he could totally have done it a lot nicer, so I don't think that is the case. I think he's trying to get you angry enough to break up with him because he wants out and is too much of a wuss to do it himself.
  • I've had to start over several times. I just wasn't ready to stick to it. Then I finally realized that I was the only one holding me back, not someone else. Having motivating friends is awesome and they are so incredibly helpful, but they can't motivate you if you don't give yourself that first push. When you're ready, it…
  • I didn't read all of the posts so sorry of this is repetitive. It depends on where you go. Many tattoo shops have a $50 minimum. I paid that (each) for my two wrist tattoos. My ankles are a bit bigger, 2x2ish, and cost $75 each. It also depends on tattoo placement. I was charged a little more for getting one done on the…
  • Charlie - black lab. 8 yrs old Missy - white bichon. 8 yrs old Nelson - white and reddish orange cat. 4 yrs old Martin - orange tiger cat. 8-9 yrs old Lass (Lucky AS *kitten*) - gray tiger cat. 1.5 hrs old All rescues, except Missy, got her as a Sweet 16 present from a pet store...but it was awful inside, not clean at all,…
  • I love the colorings! Adorable!
  • I do both. I like to sleep in as long as I can and if it's an extremely lazy day I'll end up taking a nap, too. I think it's just that on lazy days I don't get up and moving around enough so I'm pretty lethargic. On days that I go out and do things and run errands I'm less likely to take a nap.
  • Trader Joe's Classic Hummus. Mmmm mmm mmm! On some 12 grain mini crackers.
  • I started this past Saturday, April 6, and did Week 1 Day 2 last night. In the rain. I loved it! Think I'm gonna do some yoga tonight to help stretch out. Feel free to add me! We can keep each other motivated and on track!
  • You are so inspiring! At my highest last fall I weighed in at 176. I'm 23 and 5'1". My current goal is 135-140, and I just started the C25K program. Seeing this makes me think I can really do this after many days of feeling like quitting. Thank you!
  • I've felt that way until recently. Even now I'm kind of on the fence. I suggest taking your measurements because sometimes the scale doesn't move or even goes up but you're still getting results in your measurements. For a good few weeks my scale was going down but my measurements weren't. That's what really frustrated me.…
  • I think this is what my husband is afraid of. He'll mention that he should start getting more active but he never actually does anything. I think he's afraid if I lose so much weight and become more fit and attractive that I'll wake up one day and decide I can do so much better than him. He has told me he prefers his girls…
  • Feel free to add me, too! We want to get to the same weight, 135. I'm 5'1", 23 years old and currently 167.8lbs so I have a little more to lose than you but we're generally on the same track.
  • It is commonly suggested to eat at most at a 20% deficit from TDEE. Based on the TDEE you mentioned, that'd be 1,612. 1500 isn't that much lower so it seems reasonable to me.
  • I love the unsweetened for my shakes and on cereal. I haven't had just a glass of it by itself because I'm afraid I won't like it and I don't drink plain milk that frequently. A friend of mine posted recently the nutritional difference between the two and claimed there wasn't much of a difference in flavor, so I didn't…
