  • Feel free to add me as well. I'm 18 days into MFP and loving it!
  • DKNY Golden Delicious, CK Eternity, Ed Hardy.... It depends on my mood. For summer, its definitely Golden Delicious I normally reach for.
  • I went through the same thing, and ended up after about 2 weeks of indecision buying the Polar online from Amazon. Great price, particularly if you're a Kindle owner with a Prime account. I also use an Ozeri pedometer, but really, the HRM is the best way to watch your calorie burn while exercising.
  • I was born in the 60's. Also in a small town, and also to a "meat and potatoes" family. Both of my parents were overweight, but as kids, I was always stick thin, probably because I was non-stop motion. I grew up with 2 television channels, no cable, long before video games, in a very small town. We ran everywhere, and we…
  • A snack at night is my reward for staying within my calorie range and getting plenty of exercise during the day. We all have to make a decision about whether this is a DIET, or if its a lifestyle change. A DIET is no fun, its a temporary change just to lose weight, and nothing more. For me, this is a lifestyle change. I'm…
  • I watch Calories, Carbs, and Cholesterol. The carbs and calories for obvious reasons, the cholesterol because mine is high, and I would like to bring it down without drugs. I've also noticed that if I stay within the goals for sodium intake, I don't retain as much water. I'm not even joking when I say that I lost 6 lbs my…
  • That's exactly how I feel. There is no dieting going on here.... My whole life is changing!
  • Molly and Sophie. Molly is a 14 year old Jack Russell Terrier, Sophie is a 15 month old Basset Hound.
  • Wow, great responses. There is no medical reason at all for me to track sugar, MFP just does it so helpfully for me :o) It makes sense that any sugar no matter the source, or whether it is processed or not, is the same. I have no plans to give up eating the amount of fruit I eat, I'm actually amazed since starting MFP how…
  • Yeah, not interested in a bikini either. Twins at 27 sort of made that whole notion history for me. They are 26 now.. These days its all about getting healthy for me, feeling better, looking better, and breathing easier. It's also about stamina, being able to do what I want to do, when I want to do it.,
  • I walk, and log in here. I've made a lot of MFP friends, and reading their success stories motivates me! You can add me if you like!
  • Your weight can fluctuate up to 4 lbs a day. This is what my doctor suggested, and it works for me- Put the scale away, and only bring it out on your check in day. Always weigh in at the same time of day. He recommends first thing in the morning before you eat. I get scale obsessed too. Its hard not to look!
  • Famous Footwear carries a lot of New Balance shoes, both walkers and running, and I love them.
  • I'm very active on MFP. You can add me!
  • I'm about 10 days in, so feel free to add me too. I started at 180, now 174.5 and headed for 130-140.

  • I love my kindle fire!
  • Great job Michelle!
  • I joined a little skeptical, but it works. The encouragement from MFP friends, logging food, being motivated to exercise, it just works. I lost 5.6 pounds my first week, just because I was finally moving, and I feel great. You can do it too! Feel free to add me! That more people you add, the better!

  • Stress sure doesn't help us stay on track, does it? I'll tell you what I learned from quitting cigarettes- If you can learn to make better decisions, even in the midst of stress, you can do anything in the world! Weight Watchers may be a good choice too. Not just for the structure, but as a place to meet people and make…
  • I've got 35ish pounds to lose, and I'm determined too. I'm a night owl, I'm on a lot, and we can all use a little push sometimes! Denise - Add me!
  • Oh boy, do I get that. I quit a 30 year smoking habit 6 months ago, and promptly gained 36 pounds. The good part is that I'm 6 months smoke free, and now, I'm 6 pounds lighter. That still leaves me with 30+ to go, but I'm here and I'm working it! Feel free to add me if you're looking for support!

  • I work from home, I'm a night owl, and I have 6 grown kids. I also know what a journey this can be when you are awake when everyone else is asleep. Feel free to add me!
  • Sweet potato for me too. I hope I never run out of new ways to cook them! Asparagus, and artichokes are good also.
  • I think there are some things that you need to do for you, and getting healthy is one of them. I've been married for a long time, my husband and I raised 6 kids, it doesn't matter if its 2 kids or 10, its a strain when you have have a lot of other things going on. Both you and your husband need "ME" time, and it should be…
  • I have 6, though mine are all grown now. My oldest just turned 30, my youngest 20. Though in our big, Italian mob, they may be grown, but there is always one or two around somewhere :o) Feel free to add me!
  • 40ish pounds here too.. well, 35ish now! Friend request sent!
  • Well, I'm glad you came back! The advice you got is good, don't delete, just remember we all start somewhere, and tomorrow will be better. Feel free to add me! We can motivate each other!
  • Good luck reaching your goals! Feel free to add me if you're looking to build some online support as well! Denise
  • The greatest thing about the MFP community is the amount of support you get! Feel free to add me as a friend! I'm also new, I just joined 4 days ago!
