I'm right where you are, size-wise...5'7" and 173 pounds. My calorie goal is set at 1230, but I probably eat anywhere from 1200-1500 each day. I typically exercise 40 minutes a day, 5 days per week and burn 250-450 calories. I've lost nearly 8 lbs in 5.5 weeks.

- I'm back to exercising 4-5x per week & starting to see some muscle definition again! - I haven't had a Dr. Pepper (or any kind of soda) for 5 weeks! - I've lost 2 inches from my waist ,1 inch from my hips and 7lbs total in just a little over a month!

I definitely count them out based on what the package says is a serving size. Otherwise, I tend to underestimate so I don't feel guily about eating "just one more!" lol.

My current calorie goal is 1230/day & I'm trying to lose 30-35lbs at 1.5lbs per week. Most days I don't have too much trouble maintaining that goal, probably because I'm not a big breakfast eater! lol. At any rate, we can all use encouragement on this weight loss journey...so feel free to add me! :)

I eat the Dannon Light & Fit; it has half the calories of most regular & greek yogurts.

After dropping the first 5 of the 7 pounds I've lost so far, my husband started calling me "Skinny Minnie." lol. That's about how long it took for me to start noticing, too. :)

I just got it today & plan to start it on Monday! :)

Definitely going to make these for the 4th! Thanks for sharing the recipe! :)

"Discipline is doing what you know needs to be done even when you don't feel like doing it." This one's been my motivation for working out on SEVERAL occasions when I felt like making excuses as to why I couldn't/wouldn't exercise. Not sure who actually authored this quote, but he (or she) was right and, dang it, I want to…

I don't get it either! Since I do Zumba probably 4x a week, it was easiest to manually input it as one of my exercises. I used http://www.zumbacalories.com/ as a jumping off point to determine the # of calories I burn. :)

I'm with you on this one! A single slice is usually at or near 100 calories...crazy!

Usually a fruit smoothie (strawberries, blueberries, peaches, vanilla yogurt & a splash of OJ) and string cheese.

I agree with you! Some godly encouragement would be nice to have in this difficult endeavor! Friend request sent. :)

I've only been using MFP for a week and, I agree, it's an eye-opener to see how many calories you take in, without even thinking about it, on a daily basis! Every other time I've tried to lose weight this past year, I've lost my motivation after only a couple of weeks because I had no one to help keep me accountable. So,…
