I has a lap band in 2008 (i think) and it didnt work for me. I found that I could eat around it and had it tightened twice but still i could eat around it. I occasionally get food stuck now and Im eating regualr portions. The only good thing it did for me was stop me from being able to eat an enormous 16" pizza all by…

I recently restarted swimming again after 17 or so years. Im slow but I working on my stamina right now. Im not going for speed. I just stick to the slow lane and do my laps. I dont have great technique but it gets me to the end of the lap so thats ok with me! My pool is real deep at one end and I was worried Id sink but…

Great post. Im new to the area, hell, Im still fairly new to the country (USA) and I joined a gym close to my job. Im still shy when I go to workout. I just put my headphones on and ipod and just keep my head down when I work out. I'm definitely embarrassed about how I look when I work out but I need to work out to change…

I have the Polar FT4 and I love it! I use it walking, in the gym and in the pool. I find MFP way over-estimates calories burned and I can accurately count what ive burned aswell as make sure im still in the calorie burn zone.

I hate when people can see me swimming my laps, ok, not fast (my pool doesnt have slow, medium or fast lanes) but steadily and Im in the zone and they swim beside me and talk to me and I get out of the groove and slow down. I also hate the guy that swims laps and is a mega splasher! He whacks his arm into the water open…

I just started using my FT4 in the pool this past week. I got good reads both times. Im going to use it everytime now. Plus its nice to actually know how many calories im burning instead of relying on MFP's way overestimated count.

i started at 332. My first goal is to be 299. Thats my aim for now.

My gym has a jr olympic pool. Im in it 3 times a week. I love it!! They also do a ton of aqua classes like zumba, swim for fitness, intense swimming cardio, strength training. I often work out then into the pool for laps. I wear my Polar FT4 to track how Im doing. Im so glad I started swimming again. I was so ashamed of my…

Ive mostly given up soda. I just drink water now. If we eat out i get a seltzer or just water. I'll treat myself to a regular soda every now and then.

Eurgh that woman! I hate her. Shes so up her own *kitten*. He wont let her kids plays with kids who have lower class names. She has 3 kids by 3 different dads. She really shouldnt be judging anyone....

dont you get bored of chicken and salad twice a day? that would drive me nuts! Congrats on your weightloss so far :)

I have the Polar FT4. I use it for walking and being in the gym. I used if for the first time this morning whilst swimming laps. Had no issues at all with it getting a reading in the pool.

i dont trust the calories burned on MFP. I trust what my heart rate monitor tells me. I generally dont eat my calories back because why did i do all that effort to burn them if im just going to eat them again? Unless, of course, i plan on having chinese food lol

i cannot wait to make this!!!!

not even close! I was 331. Theres a girl on my friends list that was in the 400lbs region.

Im 5ft 9 and my goal weight is 199. Im setting myself mini goals in increments of 30 to 50lbs so when i see i have to lose over 130lbs it doesnt seem so overwhelming. Started out at 331. Ive lost 15lbs so far.

This! You really should eat properly though and plan your meals so you dont have a panic when you dont have time to eat.
