  • I loved that!
  • Yes. It very often feels like an absolute pain. People think I'm crazy because I stand in the kitchen with my phone, scanning barcodes and inputting info. It depresses me when someone makes me a nice meal and I end up worrying that I can't log it.
  • I'm also 5'11". It's hard to find trousers long enough, but it's also not too noticeable when I gain a little bit of weight. I've gained 2st over the last two years and people claim not to have noticed. However, I know it's there, so I'm trying to get back to the weight I was two years ago.
  • Bump. I'm interested to see what people have to say. My other half won't eat a lot of the healthier things I make because he can't taste subtle flavours.
  • I'm also 5'11". I'm currently at 176lb, but it doesn't sit well on me. I'm looking to get to about 150, which is where I was two years ago. That was a comfortable weight and size/shape for me. Feel free to add me, anyone looking for new friends & encouragement.
  • Getting ready to go out, realising none of my nice clothes fitted me anymore and collapsing in tears. I think that was pretty much when it happened...
  • That would be me. I've only been to Disneyland Paris, and that was a long time ago. I seem to remember healthyish foods there. Salad and grilled chicken and whatnot. Of course, I was a kid and only wanted hot dog with sauerkraut for lunch, or chilli fries for dinner.
  • Yep, and I'm not ashamed of my Starbucks addiction! I don't go there very often, maybe once every 6-8 weeks to meet up with a friend. I walk past it about once a week, contemplate going in and getting a coffee to take away, but I know I won't enjoy it as much if I've not got the time to sit down and drink it. So when I do…
  • That sounds so tasty. It looks even better, if that's possible. Now I know what to do with the remains of the bag of Doritos that's been sitting in the kitchen. Mm!
  • On an average day, 1-2 mugs. Some days I won't have any because I can't face the milk. I could drink it black, but it's not the same when it's instant. Ooooh, to have a coffee maker. Then there'll be crazy days when all I do is drink coffee and I can get through 5 mugs with no problem.
  • Pop Pilates! A lot of it is quite challenging, so don't push it too hard, but if you try a few of the moves from different videos and find the ones that suit you, you can create your own arm workout. http://blogilates.com/arms-upper-body
  • I always wanted to read Frankenstein and just never managed it. I tried to like it, but didn't. I tried to force myself to finish it, but life's too short.
  • This. My boyfriend loves to cycle, but won't do it on the roads. Fortunately, we live right by a canal, so there's plenty of scope for him to get on the path and veer off on cycle tracks. He rode from North Wales to South Wales a couple of years ago and had to do some of that on roads - said he hated it, especially because…
  • That's great! Back when I had gym membership, I'd see all the meathead morons (only way to describe most of them, I'm afraid) in their little weights corner, all with terrible form. Most of the time they were clearly using weights that were too heavy because they weren't capable of maintaining good form at all.
  • Coronation chicken (made with Greek yogurt, mango chutney from Sunday night's Indian takeaway and a dash of curry powder). Undecided whether to have salad or baked potato with it, though.
  • I do the same thing. I have this fear that I'll eat all my calories between breakfast and dinner, then feel hungry and miserable if I have none left over for a snack, or in case someone suggests going out for a drink in the evening. I often end up with 300+ left in the evenings and no real appetite. I'm getting better at…
  • So far I've lost an ostrich egg (woah!) and I'm aiming for a two-year-old. How bizarre!
  • Sorry, I can't help there, but I'm insanely jealous! All the beautiful food you'll be able to eat and all the lovely walks around the city...
  • Hooray! That's fab news!
  • I haven't a clue how I've managed for eight years. It was so hard at the start, gradually got easier to manage until I had a total lifestyle change. I moved out of my parents' house and in with my boyfriend, so even a year later I'm still learning my new limits. It is very hard to watch things going on around you and not…
  • Looking through my diary, it can be anywhere from 150 (porridge) to 250/350 (English muffin with poached egg & ham/bacon). I tend to have a couple of higher days and the rest on the lower end of the scale every week. I'm not a big fan of eating in the morning, though, so something like a small bowl of porridge or chia…
  • Always on wheat (though I had to have hearty Italian the other day when they'd run out of everything else). I usually have either chicken breast or chicken tikka. Splashed out yesterday and got BMT. I always have lettuce, cucumber, green peppers, olives & jalapenos. Occasionally, depending on my mood, I'll have tomato or…
  • To do some pilates. My other half works from home and currently has someone in the office with him, so I'm waiting until the guy leaves. As soon as that happens, must get the workout clothes on and get on the pilates machine!
  • I've just (this week) discovered a band called Teddybears. Don't be fooled by the name... Their style is so varied, it's hard to put a genre to it. If you YouTube them, you'll find lots of their stuff. They have some tracks that I think would be brilliant for working out to.
  • 1. Coffee 2. Green tea with lemon 3. Medium eggs I'm not surprised. I love coffee. I've been forcing the green tea down for a few weeks. Eggs...well, they're just so versatile!
  • Another sufferer here. It's been eight years since my initial glandular fever (mono), which worsened and left me with this wonderful condition. Please excuse my sarcasm. I managed to get myself to a point where I was working part-time and exercising most days, seeing friends on weekends. I was and still am very proud of…
  • Hi. I also have that wonderful, wonderful condition. Eight years in and I'm lucky that it's now at a level where I can do some things and I can work (though I managed to burn myself out with full-time work this year, lost my job and am now unemployed and trying to recover enough to get a new one). A couple of years ago I…
  • I've never been much of a smoker, but my boyfriend has been smoking since he was about 16. Not massive amounts, 1-2 a day, maybe more if he has a drink. He runs and cycles. He does get a mucky chest if he hasn't worked out in a while, but mostly he doesn't notice it affecting him at all. He ran the London Marathon this…
  • If I desperately want to weigh myself, I down a glass of water or two before going anywhere near the bathroom (home of the dreaded scales). Then I tell myself that the water will throw off the result and I won't get a true reading, so I'd better wait until tomorrow. I did it this morning. I'll probably have to do it…
  • Sending you a friend request now. Confession, though. I do eat real food, but I can't say it's always the food I should be eating... I'm only human! I'm trying very hard to get back onto the healthy wagon and actually lose some of the weight I've gained the last couple of years.
