  • Might just be your running form, there is another thread started on that
  • The labels should be right, if they are not, you complain about deceptive advertising and they have to redo them. To lose weight though, figure out how much you used to eat, and eat less. Figure out how much you exercised and exercise more. Drink more water. The weight will come off, it isn't worth the meltdown
  • Need to mark this for reading later. My calves kill me when I run on the track, but I have no problem on the treadmill, I think it has to be the form, but how to change it? My toes point out slightly, when I try to pull them in I just twist my knees.
  • IMHO Both London and Paris are both cities best seen by walking. The amount of miles you'll put on your shoes means you can eat anywhere you like :) As for the type of shoes, round town sneakers will be fine unless you have more comfy walking shoes, but as some have pointed out, anywhere with a dress code will toss you…
  • They are lulling you into a false sense of security now, they just resurfaced I-83 as you cross from MD to PA, the first 2 miles are awesome roads.... then you are trapped by the potholes :)
  • Nah, www.koalaswim.com
  • Excellent, Thanks, stuck working downtown but I plan to spend the evening down on the beach
  • lol she hasn't read it...... yet
  • You could try a HRM or fitbit but your body doesn't take long to adjust to regular routine. It only took a week of running the same routine to get my calorie burn down from 500 and some to 300 and some. I'd just up your activity level scale thingy on here
  • LMAO How do the Kids nap? when my wife does 30DS with all the jumping and running it sounds like a herd of elephants running through
  • At the moment it is because the humidity is so thick it feels like you are drinking the air not breathing it. Not to mention the issue of a safe place outside to do this. I'm hoping that fall and spring bring some good, get outside weather.
  • I've suggested a few times there needs to be a sticky about a lot of this stuff, but the evangelists for their current diet of choice will still want to say their piece. Deep breaths and click :D
  • Have you considered higher carb foods when you can eat. I know marathon runners top up on them because they are supposed to release their energy slower. Usually I'd suggest pasta and the like but I'm not sure about a before sunrise high carb meal :/

  • In order to cut out the soda I just made it unavailble. I used to keep a 12 pack of coke in the fridge at work. I changed to just taking one a day, that helped. I like the soda cold so at home I'd just keep one in the fridge, then replace it as I used it, so it would take a couple of hours to get cold. Then I just started…
  • Got to disagree on the Texas Roadhouse one, you just need to look at the menu and pick smartly. They have some way over caloried stuff, but I had the Fillet, a baked potato with butter and a house salad and came in at about 800 calories which I thought was an awesome count considering :) I have to admit though, if you get…
  • Went out to Fogo de Chao for dinner last night, All you can eat meat, oh and a salad bar. Just for a laugh, I weighed in before I left, 236.6lb. Had water, lots of meat and then sat down with some wine with friends. Came home and weighed myself 241.2lbs. Woke up this morning after a couple of bathroom trips and did my…

  • Wife and I both started in the mid 200's with c25k, 30 Day shred, Exercise bike, walking, what can't you do being that weight? I saw the comment about "Your body will love it", I think mine is more likely plotting ways to kill me
  • Get a belt, or get a pair of pants with elastic waist (hidden by the belt) but a few sizes to big, as you shrink so will the elastic.
  • So don't hit the gym? Walk up a mountain, get a bike and ride the local trails, learn self defense, go Kayak? There are lots of ways to burn calories that don't have to be as boring as the gym. Cycling and Kayaking are a great way to burn some calories without that whole "I'm exercising" vibe
  • Spray a bowl with Pam, put in egg, whisk, nuke in microwave. You get an egg about bread sized with no real added fat. I sprinkle in some pepper. And don't give up bread, just eat healthier bread, anything but wonderbread
  • Fortunately I don't think it is that serious, just enough to annoy, I think that I will try once more tomorrow and take the weekend off, going out for a big steak Sunday so will have to exercise Monday
  • Are people really not seeing the humor here?
  • Nah, I think the BS will be clear
  • To save the life of my mouse, it only has so many clicks in it and I don't want to waste them
  • You could, but it would take forever. Exercise doesn't have to be about going to the gym though. Park at the opposite end of the parking lot to the store Walk to whoever you need to see in the office instead of picking up the phone Take the stairs not the elevator Its all baby steps
  • I hate to admit this, cutting (almost) out the coke seems to have made a difference to me. The one can of coke was my wake up caffeine in the morning, I was getting fit, and I was losing a little weight. Then I stopped my daily coke I started to see weight beginning to come off regularly. I still have a can of coke when I…
  • We do the zip lock meat trick too, makes cooking easier. I have to admit being lazy when it comes to metering the veg and stuff through because its usually the add ins that raise their calories so the difference between 1/2 cup of peas and 1 cup is small enough to worry about. The one that surprised me a little was the…
  • It will come, my wife just had a 10 day stint of no movement on the scale and then dropped 4.2lbs in one day. As other people have said, its a marathon not a sprint  And the BMI is only a guideline, there are lots of people that are fit, muscly and over their BMI
  • Are you taking measurements, with the first 10 days of 30 Day Shred both my wife and I lost inches not pounds, I haven't done stage 2 yet but she is and the weight is coming down too.
  • Is it a time of the month thing though? We have been watching my wife's food vs. dates vs. exercise for the last 3 months and she has wanted to eat less and has lost more weight during that week than any other week. She is probably just special though
