Amazfit (Zepp), GoogleFit, MyFitnessPal. Has anyone made it work yet?
I'm a pretty tech savvy guy and I can't get anything sensible from this combo on Android. The Amazfit watch is hands down my favourite fitness watch I've had but doesn't talk to many apps. You are forced through GoogleFit. GoogleFit "interprets" what it gets from Zepp so what you see is their version of what you think is…

Shoe Recommendations (UK)
Hi all, I've been walking to lose some weight (Down from 265lbs to 245lbs so far) and I seem to be killing shoes. My first pair were Air Nike's and I wore them all the time for about 6 months, then they lasted 2 months with my added walking. I then bought a pair of Sketchers GoWalk and it took 4 weeks and 100 miles before…

People that have moved - What food do you miss?
When you move a state, a country or a continent away the food changes, not just the healthy stuff. Some of it you can learn to make, some of it you find the equivalent and some you just can't figure out. Maybe someone here can help figure out how to make it. I'm from the UK and missed Scotch Eggs, store bought Pork Pies,…

Exercise and Crankyness
Does anyone else get so tired when they exercise that they get cranky, I mean to the point that you get in my way someone is going to get hurt cranky? I was cycling to work 3 days a week and switched out to run/shuffle 2 days a week and I got so tired during the day I was annoying even myself. After the running I would…

Can't figure out the logic of this
So I started into my weight loss by increasing my exercise and reducing my calorific intake and lost some weight. This was expected. Then I hurt my knee so I stopped cycling and continued losing weight. Knee better cycling no weight loss. Then I realised I drunk to much wine. I cut it down, cut it out, no more weight loss,…

Sudden Weightloss
Has anyone else had the weight suddenly disappear? I've been at it this tie for about 40 days and I was teetering around the same weight for most of that time. All of a sudden this last week I've dropped almost 9lbs! My average over time is fine but it is quite odd. I haven't really changed my diet and exercise regime, eat…

Mankini!
Is it wrong to want to lose weight to look good in a Mankini? :) Gary (Conversation with the wife about looking good in a swimsuit, and her response was along the lines of weight loss can't help a mankini :) )

I need to lose some weight, I'm not to unfit, but I still need to lose weight. Preferably by speedo season in August :) Want to find out if anyone else is aiming at August 1 and wants to keep me in check? I'm a guy, 6'1" and I weight 230lbs, I should way sub 200lbs IMHO ideally 180lbs so I have a plan. The idea of posting…

C25k for upper body
I have used the C25k a few times as a basis to get myself running (I keep stopping and starting but still losing weight) Does anyone know of an equivalent program for couch to six pack? I'd imaging pushups? situps? Something to start toning the upper body from someone who's upper body work out is currently carrying in the…

iPhone app to help with pace
I saw someone the other day with an App on their android phone that beeped at them when they went to much slower or faster than their set pace when running. Does anyone know of an iPhone app that does that real-time? Thanks

Has anyone else losing weight without the effort?
*grrr screwed up the title and can't edit it ,"Has anyone else FOUND THEY ARE losing weight without the effort?" I know lot off people that are struggling with their weight loss and I think it is great that you are sticking at it, but has anyone else found that their body is just into the swing of things and dropping…

I-83 corridor and running indoors
The days are getting shorter, the weather is getting colder. I'd like to run on somewhere that isn't a treadmill, but still inside. I work in North Baltimore, and drive back to York PA. Does anyone have any suggestions where to run inside in the evenings? Are there gyms big enough for a track? At the weekend it is no…

More Boobs!
As a follow on to the Boobs! post. Those that have had experience. What is the difference in feel for implants, both from the wearers point of view and the admirers? There are lots of people bashing the fake boobs, or boobs should be as they are, but I'm curious to know what the feeling is like. Plan B is to go to the…

And this is when they knew they should exercising?
I regret posting this. I was trying to bring some humor in since every time I see someone "larger than most" it reminds me why I am losing weight. So I was going for humor and motivation, guess I picked the wrong day to post.

Starving after running outdoors
Does anyone else get really really hungry after running outdoors? Last week after a 5k I was starving and couldn't eat enough. Today I went out and ran 2.5 miles and am starving again. This time through I went out and bought some baby carrots and fat free ranch so at least I can pig out low cal style :) I tried the Greek…

How do you run slower?
On the treadmill, if I set the speed to 6mph I get a good rhythm but am out of breath quickly. If I set it to 5mph I can go for 20 or so minutes. When I'm out on the track though the natural rhythm puts me a 6mph based on time/distance and I'm done in about 2-3 minutes, I try to slow down but I can't get into a rhythm. Is…

How do you record standing?
Today, I spent the day doing presentations, and teaching, it resulted in 6 hours on my feet. I'm trying to work out how to count calories on that, it was above and beyond my normal day, my legs ache and I'm tired, but I have no idea what to call it on here. I haven't recorded it since it is just "extra calories" but does…

Walk there and eat the calories?
I was reminded by the subway post that is going on about how most people try to count eaten calories in and forget calories out. Half my office take their lunch time by driving a mile to get lunch, bringing it back and sitting in the break room and eating it. Today was a gorgeous day, so I went for brisk a walk, burned off…

I don't think I'll ever understand it
So I'm nicely losing weight at a good average pace, and then I have a bad food day and boom, I lose even more! I've been losing about 1/3lb a day all week, yesterday was a hectic day so no formal exercise, I ate, Fried bacon, friend eggs and fried bread for breakfast, Sheetz chicken strips and onion rings for…

US Ladies, Matching Underwear sets
So since my wife has lost a bunch of weight I was going to get her some nicer fancier new underwear for vacation (OK, So its for me too ). But where oh where can you get matching sets anymore? In the UK I'd have gone to M&S but they'd take to long to deliver to the colonies/ She is still a little bigger than…

Soda is bad for me, but I'm not allowed Alcohol at work
I wasn't having much success losing weight till I finally bit the bullet and cut out the soda and now the weight is coming off. Since the weather has been so nice I have taken to drinking Smirnoff Ice and the Raspberry Burst ones. Despite being sugary, fizzy and alcoholic this isn't seeming to hinder my weight loss. So how…

You can't spot reduce...but can you?
Both my wife and I have been at this now for a few months and happily losing weight, she is well over 20lbs down, I'm at 12lbs. The problem is both of us see no difference at all in our tummies. Both of us are doing annoying woman's shred and running/walking. Both of us have now got much better looking legs and arms from…

What does it take to look good?
I was fortunate to spend the evening people watching on Venice Beach, CA last week and I came to some revelations about what makes the ladies look good. Regardless of their size and shape the three things that seem to make people look good where the ability to stand up straight without slouching, a little bit of a tan, and…

Arrrrggghhh, there is a search function!!
If there is one thing that is irking me about being a regular MFP user it is the frequency that the same questions come around in the forum that have been answered ad-nausem and argued over and bickered about. Can we get the search button lit up in red with a blinking border round it and a big arrow that says, "Look we…

Where to eat healthy in Long Beach, CA?
Going to be out there on business next week and was looking for some reasonably healthy restaurant recommendations, I'm not a fan of tomato and peppers so it kind of rules out the usual Mexican suggestions. Hopefully CA is awake by now :)

Getting leg back in shape
About a week ago I slipped on the stairs and must have pulled a muscle in my lower leg. It didn't hurt that day so out I went on the track doing C25k week 3 and about 20 minutes after I got done I was in agony. Next day the pain went down so I think I'm OK, so off I go to the track. When I get done it is tight but not to…

Clearly Labeling Posts
Can we get a labeling system for posts to clarify the difference between what has actually worked for people that lose weight or whatever condition the subject is about, and a second one the "Someone told me", "I read a magazine", "Dr. Oz" information. I think we should put an abbreviation in the front of the topic, My…
