  • I knew I had to get serious AGAIN, after my orthopedic surgeon told me he would not do the double knee replacements, which I needed until I lost 100 lbs. That was 7/16/20 - today I weighed in with a total 60 lbs. weight loss since then. Next appointment is 4/14/21, and I am positive I will make his goal. Hopefully I won't…
  • Love Bobby Deen's book "From Momma's Table to Mine". He takes his mom's dishes and lightens them up. I made his CHEESEBURGER CASSEROLE, side of canned green beans (rinsed and drained), baked sweet potato, 1 pat of butter, large cup of Jasmine tea and for dessert a Kashi Chocolate Almond Sea Salt Chewy Granola bar. Yummy…
  • You look like two different people. Amazing!
  • Congratulations! Before you know it you will be at your goal. It is an awesome journey.
  • I drive into to town to see my friends and love ones for our annual family reunion picnic, which is usually at the area amusement park. After being separated by COVID-19 for a year I love how everyone is shocked and thrilled to see the "new and improved" me. I'll be able to fit into the rides without worrying if I'll fit…
  • Pre-planning meals on the week-end for the rest of the week. Staying away from fast food joints. No carbonated beverages just tea, coffee or water. Of course, journaling in My Fitness Pal. So far have lost 57 lbs. since July 17, 2020.
  • Congratulations, you look amazing. That first step was certainly worth all the effort and time you put in. I'm sure you feel like a new person. You certainly look it. Keep on trucking and make it a healthy life style for the rest of your life.
  • Have passed up the candy bowl (huge) of left over Halloween candy at work. It holds no interested for me anymore. There was a time I would have demolished it! Clothes are getting much looser at 55 lbs. weight lost.
  • Forget that BMI chart, YOU LOOK FABULOUS!
  • My wake up moment was when I went to the orthopedic surgeon July 2020 ready to commit to double knee replacement surgery, and he told me he would not operate until I lost 100 lbs. I am currently down 50+ lbs. Needless to say at the time I was disappointed. I had started eating 2 to 3 pints of Ben and Jerry a week when…
  • Thank you for inspiring others, MFP is a lifesaver for many of us attempting to lose weight. You look marvelous. Keep up the good work!
  • Wow, like your new dapper look. You are such an inspiration to me and others. Thank you for sharing, it helps those of us who are trying to live a healthier life style. Thank you very much!
  • I restarted my quest for a healthier lifestyle 6/19/20. Since then I have lost 35 lbs. with a lot more to go, but I feel less lethargic, better frame of mind and my cloths are fitting like they should have been fitting me all along. I am even wearing clothes that were too small. In looking through my closet for something…

  • Another question on the frankencrepes. In the ingredients you list "baking powder", but in the directions you say add "baking soda". Which is it or is it both? Please answer back ASAP, I want to make these this evening.
  • For your frankencrepes you mention the weight in grams for the cauliflower. Is that a small, medium or large head of cauliflower? From the U.S.A. Sorry, but I do want to get this right. They look delicious and the pizza looks so good that I want to attempt it. Thanks for the recipes. Keep them coming.
  • Today is the happiest day of my life, New Numbers. Now down to 298.6. I haven't seen that number for a while. I am still following IF (intermittent fasting) food plan. I seems to work for me. Working diligently for my goal of 100 lbs. off by May 2021. So far 30 lbs. off.
  • My clothes are also starting to feel baggy. What wonderful feeling!
  • Scurrying around the house getting ready for church when I noticed that I was not using my cane. I have been getting accustomed to using it everyday for the past year. I was amazed that after losing 24 lbs. my knees weren't killing me this morning.
  • Ccricofo thanks for the idea of organizing my clothes closet based on size. I think I have clothes ranging from size 26 to 18. I am now wearing size 22. It is a good thing that I am a seamstress (part time), and have scaled down some of the items that are now too large. It feels so good to say that! I love celebrating…
  • I'm so happy to find other folks who are participating in IF. I have started 16:8 since June 17. So far I have lost 20 lbs. I feel much lighter and focussed since starting. It took me about a week to get use to not having breakfast. I use to wake up thinking about food. I tie myself over with a cup of hot tea before my…
  • You guys made my day, I'm still laughing. I got the name "fabricwoman" from my daughter's band chums. She was the drum major. I was in charge of fitting the band and dance team members in their uniforms, and repairs when needed. I always had my sewing machine and materials in the trunk of my car for emergencies. I also sew…
  • Hi, this seems like a lively bunch of folks. Do you mind if I join? I am 67 at 5' 3" (Dr. office says I'm 5' 2", but I don't believe them). I was at the Orthopedic Surgeon's office when he told me I needed knee replacements, but he would not operate until I lost 100 lbs. He also offered knee injections, which I found out…
  • kingtika12 thanks for the support you are reaching out with. I too have to lose 100 lbs. This is so I can see if I will be able to have knee surgery in late spring of 2021. When the Dr. told me I was at risk with anesthesia AND temporary shots in my knees were $1,000 each, I turned him down in favor of losing weight first.…
  • Hello everyone, I have enjoyed reading your posts. I RESTARTED my weight loss journey by visiting an Orthopedic Surgeon on 6/17/20. Due to my weight I was not eligible for bilateral knee replacement surgery for fear of anesthesia complications. So he wanted to begin shots, which if my insurance did not pay for would be…
  • I am in awe of your original posting in 2012. Right now I am barely walking with a cane and I have DECIDED that I will eat better and move more right now in 2020. Thank you for the insight and hope for a better tomorrow, and again thank you for your service to our country.
  • I had lost close to 100 lbs. at the beginning of the year. I was losing the weight for a nephew's wedding. I made his "Cookie Table" and it was downhill after that. I am up 40 lbs. now. and feel miserable. My ankles and knees ache. I remember how good I felt, and my goal is to feel about at a lighter weight.
  • Getting on the air plane and being able to buckle my seatbelt without asking for a seatbelt extender!
  • Getting below 200 lbs., which I have not seen for about 20 years. I have lost 70 lbs. so far. It was hard work, but worth every second. I feel so much better with the weight coming off, clothes in smaller sizes and no longer needing a cane to walk. Two weddings coming up (June and October), boy will everyone be surprised…
  • Thank you so much everyone. Your advise will be taken into consideration on watching my diet and talking to my Dr. on the next visit.
