Exactly. Or swimming, a pickup game of football, etc., sadly.

I think the next chance you get you should get out for a walk to loosen things up. See if things start to feel better after you warm up. If it still hurts after maybe 1.5-2 miles, might be something that needs a good week of rest. Congratulations on your half!

I'm a working mom so I workout whenever I can. Sometimes that means starting a long run at 7pm and not getting home till 11pm.

Swim/bike/run.

OOoh, this might make me finally hit 100 for the month. I've been maxing at 75-80ish. Can I join?! I've got a couple runs in already. This month will get help from a marathon and a relay race. It's hitting all my training that I need to do.

I often burn over 1000 calories, but you might only see it for the "4 mile run" when it's actually a 4 mile run after a 2 hour mountain bike ride. I wear a heart rate monitor. I have my default setting for calorie burn goal at about 2000 a week for when I'm not training for a triathlon or a distance race. I log my exercise…

None. We rarely have it in the house. We go out for it as a treat. Actually, mostly frozen yogurt or gelato.

No. Not lame. Get out there and use that body with functional limbs. Don't want to get to a point where you can't and wish you had. :)

LOL! Ai, this topic.

I am competitive. I like to race, so training for things like running races, triathlons, bike races, etc will get me on a training program that forces me to work out. Otherwise, I'm a sad lump on a log.

Sounds great! Especially the rest day. Working hard, you'll need to give your muscles a break so the tearing they suffered during the 6 days can repair.

Often, when you run on a treadmill, it's set at a pace and stays there. When you run outdoors, your pace varies according to the course. You will fly down a hill, slow down going up, and waver between a slow and fast pace on a flat. All of that will affect your overall pace and your finish time. I've done quite a bit of…

Treadmills are awesome training tools when you can't get outdoors. I did a lot of my half and full marathon training on one. When your only training time is late at night when the crazies are out, treadmills will do. As for holding the rails, I've had friends tell me that they are afraid they're gonna fall off, or they…

Swim, bike, run, and soccer.

I'm training for a sport that I'm not gifted at, so I get at least 6 days of physical activity, whether I want it or not, lol! I'm one of those that needs to compete to get off my lazy butt. If I'm not training, I'm lucky to get up and do something 3-4X a week, and I don't give a flying fig what anyone thinks about that.…

If I miss a scheduled training session, I'm bummed till I make it up. I do fully enjoy my rest days though. They're part of my training.

Nothing. I'm the least experienced one that uses the gym I go to, from what I see. If anything, I'm probably annoying them with my grunting while I pump my 10 lb weight and doing my 15 minutes fully body stretch so close to the squat rack, hehe. I mainly use the treadmills in it and do a bit of strength training when I…

There's a lot of pain and discomfort in just starting to run whatever your calf size. Just keep going. If it's too much, slow down. Eventually your legs will increase it's tolerance to your demands. Even as a seasoned runner, if I've take a long break, it takes a good 3 months for me to comfortably run a minimum of 3…

LOL! Yeah, when I'm regularly training I sweat doing hard maths.

So many great things heard about C25K! Give it a go. You'll be amazed at what you can do! We were initially made to run. If your limbs are in good working condition, you can run. Walking when you are uncomfortable is not a horrible thing. You keep getting out there and doing it, you will get stronger, and you will run…

I'm the apple. Not good.

No membership fee (military training facility) The staff is full of fun, chatty folks who remember your name and what you like to do in the gym Never run out of equipment wipes They have a family room with a play area you can see well with lots of toys They have a salt water pool It's got high ceilings so that the grunts…

I love my gym. Haven't had such issues. Maybe it's because I go at lunch time and it's not too busy.

I ran till the week I delivered my last child. I was running before pregnancy and was given the all clear from the doc to continue doing so for as long as I was comfortable.

About a week before that TOM, I have horrible cravings for salt and sugar, and I'm also an emotional eater, so it's tough! I have to make sure I plan my meals. I make sure to bring my lunch to work, and make dinners on time so I don't make excuses to take the kids out to eat. Most of the time it works. When it's hectic,…

I'd roast them with sweet potatoes and assorted veggies.

I actually run quite a bit at a good clip, but must admit that at my 5'1" height, 4.0 has me jogging already. It probably has a lot to do with my stride, but when I try to walk it, I'm tripping. :)
