  • Omigod, I know people say to only weigh yourself once a week, but I'm TOTALLY scale obsessed. there's on in the bathroom at my work, and it just takes a second, I step on it every time. So, Mon-Fri, I weigh myself 2-4 times a day... depending on how much water I have to drink. ;-) I usually gain 2 pounds in a day.…
  • Great Job ByeBye!! Way to go!! I fell off the wagon just past the half-way mark. I still did well, and I know I came close (may have actually met my goal... just didn't track it all). I'm also looking forward to another challenge next month. I'll keep with it this time, PROMISE!! :)
  • I'm Out. Sorry, gonna have to drop this challenge. My iPhone was stollen, I have no idea how far I'm running (yes, I know there are websites out there, I used to use USATF Map It, which I love, but I just don't have the time these days to track and map every run.) I'm still running a lot, and might meet my goal of 31 miles…
  • I'm changing my goals. I got a gym membership, so I'm not doing my regular walks as much, and might not get out for a bike ride this week or next. Still going to try for the 31 miles of running! I'm on track so far! :) Just not doing my walking goal or bike ride goal anymore.
  • If you eat too few calories, your body can go into "Starvation Mode" where it will basically want to hold onto weight and fat. It's a survival thing. Think back in the day when food wasn't as easy to come by. Sometimes people would go days without a good, solid meal. The body is made to hold onto fat as an energy resource…
  • Ran 4.5 miles today. 10 min mile average pace. My first mile was like 9:20, which is actually fast for me. I wonder if I could do one in 9:00. I bet I can. If I really focus, don't get stuck at red lights, maybe if I ran around a track or something. Ooh, I wonder if I can get down to 8 min if I REALLY try! Maybe by the end…
  • You can do it, Sara! I had a similar experience with my first born. Scary! Huh? Add me for support! You can totally do this!!
  • I'm having the same problem. Usually eat fruit 3-5 times a day! I'm trying today to cut out fruit for a few days to see what my sugar levels equal. I'm also eating no bread, pasta, crackers, pretzels, chips, etc. - Turkey Jerky - little indivicual packs. But I'll have half the pack as a morning snack, half as an afternoon…
  • That's great that you were able to get off the bus a little early and walk the rest of the way. You totally should do that more often. Great way to add a few extra miles into your routine each week. :) Sunday: 0, unless I counted the 2 hours of antique shopping, but I don't. :) Monday: I plan on walking a mile after lunch…
  • I was deciding whether to go on a run or take a nap. I ate a DELICIOUS and unhealthy lunch (scallop sandwich, clam chowder, and beer), and I was SO tired this afternoon. I didn't want to run. BUT, because of this challenge, I went out and ran farther than I had planned. I only needed 2.2 to finish off my 7 miles of running…

  • Friday the 13th, Day 13 for our monthly challenge. That's one day shy of two weeks, so Week 2, Day 6. :) I want to run today. I also want to go on my 1 mile afternoon walk at work. I'm on track to meet my weekly goal for week 2.
  • I ran 2.5. I did interval running, 45 seconds run, 15 seconds walk. At first it was fine, a little distracting, but easy. By the end I was sweating SO much more than just going for a run. I like it. I also got on the spin bike for just a few intense minutes after my run. And did some calistenics for about 15 minutes.…

  • Ahhhhhahahahaha, I did NOTHING today. I ate well, but didn't run, walk, or bike. I am, however, taking the kids to Sea World tonight. I'm going to turn on MapMyRun and see how far I walk while we're there. Tomorrow I have to run a few miles AND go on a bike ride. I REALLY want to meet my goals for this week!!!!!

  • I just started listening ot Cut The Fat podcast this morning on my drive into work. It has some great suggestions and things to think about regarding cutting fat. One of the things I want to try is cutting carbs (except veggies), but cutting simple carbs 3 hours before a workout and 2 hours after a workout. It's going to…
  • WooHoo! My kids asked to go to the park. Even though it was late, dinner time, and a school night, I said YES. And I got to run a mile, stretch, and play basketball with them. Totally going to meet my goals for the week. July 5: Run total = 3 miles Walk Total = 4 miles (goal met...kinda. I went to the fair on Monday,…

  • Day 4: no running, no walking, no bike ride - BUT - I did go kayaking for over an hour! (good, even though it wasn't part of my 31 Miles in July goal) Day 5: I did my 1 mile walk at work (my goal is to do it 4 days a week at work) I did not run today. I've only run 2 miles this week. I have to run 5 more miles before…

  • Darn iPhone. I meant... I did go up and over a big hill, and it's HOT out...

  • Day 3: Finally went on my first run. Three miles. Mostly running. I'm gonna give it a nice rounded good guess of 2 miles running, 1 mile walking. But I did up and over a BIG hill and it's hit out, so it was a great workout. I also walked 1.25 at work on an afternoon walk with a coworker. This week I still have 5 more miles…

  • Love it!!! I agree!!! Early morning walks are TOUGH. But the hardest part is getting out of bed. I set out my clothes ahead of time, so all I have to do it put on a sports bra and my shoes, grab a breakfast bar and a water bottle, and head out the door. I warm up with a walk while eating a bit, then jog when I'm ready.…
  • I agree. I ask myself "am I burning more calories doing this than I would if I was sitting on the couch watchign tv?" So, gardening, cleaning, shopping, and walking in place are all good things. Keep Moving! :)
  • I wasn't feeling well on July 1st, so I didn't do ANYTHING. Didn't even walk a lot. Today, I want to make up for it, but I'm going to the San Diego Fair. I'll do a lot of walking, but it doesn't count for my running that I'm aiming for. And, don't worry, I'm pretty good about saying no to "fair food". I'm not worried about…

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! The weekend start kinda threw me off. I'll catch up quickly though! :)
  • I get an error message. But it could be just me or my work. " Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage "
  • Is 31 Miles In July full? Look for it in Groups.
  • Ya, Ha! What savings? I tried to save up enough to take the kids camping this summer. I can't even pay our bills!!
