I had the same question and asked my personal trainer. He said to ignore the added calories for working out. You have to create a deficit to lose...if you eat those calories then how are you creating that difference. I was told to just stick to my calorie intake which is 1259 cal a day. Does this make sense?

I'm in the same boat as you. I just finished dinner and still have about 700 calories left! I earned extra calories by working out today. Both definitely. I started with a trainer the first of the year and this is how he explains weight loss. You have to build lean muscle, lean muscle helps burn calories and keeps burning. I have been there myself and decided this time I would get thin the "healthy" way. I am not losing as quickly as I would like but I have a renewed respect for myself and my life. Patience truly is a virtue and if you work hard, exercise and eat right you will be awesome in the end!

Don't worry! You have started working out which means you are burning fat and probably building lean muscle. In the end lean muscle burns more calories. I am on the second week of the South Beach. The first week I lost 9lbs and now seem stuck. Is that normal? I also started working out alot too.
