  • Shift your focus. I love my body not because of how it looks but because of what it does. I'm more or less happy with where I'm at; I'd like to lose ~5 lbs, but not pushing hard. I am happy with and love my body because of what it is capable of - and it's capable of more every week. At some point every day, try to think of…
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries 1 banana 1/8th of an avocado 1 scoop vanilla Iso-smooth protein powder water It's delicious!
  • I agree with JoRocka - cut down the reps, and finish in the captain's chair. Or, do them all in the captain's chair, except the last half-set - and try to push yourself to finish that half-set hanging.
  • You look wonderful! Way to go!
  • I caught my foot against the grass while walking into the outfield during three-pitch, and in powering through proceeded to kick myself in the other ankle, leaving a very dark bruise.
  • I agree with thisismeraw - the amount of sugar in the drinks you get at Starbucks is astonishing. I try to go skim milk, sugar-free syrup when I get a drink there, but even when I get something like a green tea latte without syrup and with nonfat milk, there's sugar in the matcha powder - can't win!
  • First off, way to go on that loss - that's pretty awesome! Do you track measurements? I find that when the scale's not cooperating and I'm working hard, I'll see it in the inches. Your body will get used to the increased exercise after a few weeks and you'll lose again.
  • I'd try to work a little more protein into lunch and snacks - a hard boiled egg as a snack, maybe some meat in the soup, etc. Protein will help keep you full, and something like yogurt can hide high amounts of sugar, etc., whereas the meat or eggs will give you that boost without the sugar spike. Also, I'm assuming…
  • I take Maxalt for my migraines, Naproxen for my tension headaches. I've had great success with these two.
  • When my headaches were really bad (a combo of tension headaches and migraines, 20-25 days out of the month), I removed all high impact exercise from my schedule. Stuck to low impact - yoga, elliptical, walking - while I was working with a massage therapist, haedache specialist and physical therapist to try to reduce the…
  • I go over my sugar limit every day, too - I'm most of the way there after my breakfast fruit smoothie! I'm trying to cut back, though. Nerd Fitness posted this blog on Monday about sugar - highly recommend it: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2013/06/17/everything-you-need-to-know-about-sugar/
  • Check out this blog post on Nerd Fitness: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2013/06/17/everything-you-need-to-know-about-sugar/ I'm always over on my sugar; nearly hit my max after my morning fruit smoothie, but I'm trying to get better. I found this article really enlightening!
  • I have a smoothie for breakfast every morning on my way to work: 1 cup frozen strawberries 1 banana 1/4 large or 1/2 small avocado 1 scoop Iso-smooth vanilla protein powder water I get 3 servings of fruits right off the bat. • OP, thanks for posting this information. I eat conventionally grown food, not organic.
  • NSV = Non-scale victory A few years ago when I started this journey, I drank next to no water every day. This morning, I drained my 64 oz bottle before 11, and I know I'll have another one this afternoon!
