i like using the heuristic of choosing between sweets or alcohol. (I don't like eating sweets w alcohol anyways as it can sometimes make me feel a little sick) If there is good red wine available or champagne, good lord how i love champagne, then i have that. It's not about calories... i just love red wine and champagne.…

Nothing is wrong with you. You are a capable person worthy of a healthy existence. Try not to look at it as starting over again. Everyday we start over. Each day, each meal and snack we make a choice. Sometimes we choose better than others. This is a lifelong decision and I know you know that! Log your food and break up…

they are completely different. yoga is a much more peaceful, centering experience. it's great for flexibility, clearing your head, and balance. the feeling after a yoga session is something you should def experience. Even in a beginner's yoga class, you will leave being amazed at positions you achieve. You walk away with…

my Dad was always a major jerk about my weight. He made a comment about my fat *kitten* one time when I was grown. I retorted with something along the lines of "you don't know how many men have LOVED this fat *kitten*". Emphasis on the 'loved'. He hasn't said a thing about my weight since.

i've got some paper :)

i think your body may be trying to tell you something. Where are your fruits and vegetables?

that is what I attribute them to as well. I don't have an issue w them anymore by making sure I drink plenty of water the night before exercising. I exercise in the morning. I have a glass of water pre-workout, during working out and afterwards as well.

when i'm sick i have chicken noodle soup at least once a day. when taking antibiotics, i have yogurt in between doses...so if I took an antibiotic at noon i would eat yogurt at 2:30 and take the other round of antibiotics at 5 pm

my favorite Tday food items are cornbread dressing and collards. Sometimes the turkey is amazing, other times just so so but seriously I can't wait for the dressing n collards!

you can get one that basically goes over the eyes on your stove....and that is what I would go with bc storing a grill such as this will take up less space. i would recommend a cast iron or ceramic stove top grill or 1 that you plug in. If money isn't a concern, then allow me to live vicariously and buy a Le Creuset…

i don't. intentional or not, i feel like certain people are prone to sabotage. i feel like if i'm doing it right, people will eventually notice anyways. Besides, I don't like the phrase I'm losing weight. I mean...I am but I prefer to think of it as I am choosing to live a healthier life.

i really like wool socks to work out in, year round. they don't ever feel 'wet' so there is no rubbing or your feet getting cold.

i'd make your killer chicken parm and just work it off in the bedroom :p

i lost 75 lbs years ago. (gained it back after baby, of course...it's a great and tried excuse). I never had any sagging skin. Maybe it is just genetic, maybe it's because I lost slowly (1-2 lbs a week), maybe it is because I exercised while losing. I dunno. I was worried about it but it didn't happen to me. I am kind of…

There was 1 recently where some1 produced this diatribe about a MFP friend deleting her.....can't imagine why some1 would delete a person w such passion :P

i can't stand it when people try to force you to eat or drink something. i have a friend that is like this. she always wants you to try whatever it is she has made and has a hard time hearing no thank you. she just doesn't know that the more she presses, the more i dig in my heels. I'll even say no just bc I know she wants…

people like to believe that Splenda is bad for you. However, as of yet there are no studies indicating such. IMO everything in life is about moderation: sweeteners included :)

Oh, i love this idea!! i'm doing C25k...i wonder if my LG phone has this feature? hhmmmmm

HI Gwen, We live frugally at my home and do not buy diet food. We feed our daughter what we eat. Instead of eating their leftovers, wrap them up and save for another meal. As far as cheap and healthy, we love lentils or black beans with brown rice. I make the black beans in the crock pot...they are much cheaper and tastier…

I love that you said this, wow. I recently started C25k. It really seems to just melt the weight off. (I've done C25k before when i reached a healthy weight for my wedding 6 years ago). I'll have access to a gym in about a month and plan on strength training as well because I'm pretty sure it will help me run better and…

Haha, i thought the same thing, it's like one of those commercials. Btw, jlreser your hair is beautiful!! To the original poster, assuming you read this, what type of regular exercise have you been doing?

i think a beautiful roasted butternut squash as the main course on Thanksgiving is elegant and def feels special. btw, collards are very traditional on Thanksgiving and they are fantastic...taste and health wise.

if i'm really hungry i'll have something...yogurt, apple, few bites of leftovers, glass of soymilk, etc. i try to determine if i'm actually hungry or just want to nibble on something. If it is the latter and it often is, i'll have a glass of water and make a cup of decaf tea. it often does the trick bc i'm rarely REALLY…

I was vegetarian for 8 years. I *think* what you are trying to ask is will your body revolt once it is shocked with animal meat. My reintroduction to meat occurred at a buffet and I had steak, chicken, lamb, shrimp....i basically had some of every type of meat available. I did not experience any ill effects from consuming…

i heard this a long time ago. motivation follows the action. the idea being that you'll be more motivated to do something (again) after having done it. don't pysche yourself out. don't think oh i don't wanna. just put your shoes on and start. that's it. don't over think it. just do it. i promise you'll be happier afterward.
-
i completely agree. the idea that blood type should dictate diet is in no way validated via empirical evidence or research.

I love how you put this! It is so true. A shine is such a great way of describing it. I feel more powerful, confident, happy, at ease, etc etc when exercising is a part of my life.
