These are excellent tips! I've just begun my journey, but I've already taken on several of these tips. For example, I eat all of my meals on bread plates rather than dinner plates, include a fruit or veggie and a glass of water with every meal and snack, and have started exercising a minimum of 60 minutes a day, every day.…

Hi I'm pretty new too and just started my journey officially 8 weeks ago. Like you, I've been overweight almost my whole life and am sick and tired of it. I've also struggled with PTSD and depression. Do not hesitate to add me as a friend, I'd be glad to try to keep you motivated! You've got this! The best advice I can…

Hiya! I need to lose about 180 pounds (I weigh over 300, and my goal weight is 140-150). I began my journey "officially" eight weeks ago, but I'd been making small changes (quit smoking, quit drinking soda, started eating whole grains) over the last several years. Now I've gotten serious. What I've found has helped is to…

That sounds difficult and I'm not sure what to tell you. Is there any way your family would let you take over the cooking several nights a week? Can you do healthy meals for breakfast, lunch, and your snacks? Also, be sure to limit your portion sizes; if you do that, then as long as you eat healthy 80% of the time, you…

You are beautiful! Amazing job!

You are SO amazing and inspiring! Great job!! And you're right, the mental aspect is even harder than the physical aspect. For me, it's involved facing things about my past that I'd much rather have left behind me forever. But I had to acknowledge that part of me, so I could move past it. Now I just keep looking forward…

I need to lose 180 pounds, so I know how you feel all too well. I've also started and stopped, started and stopped, started and stopped... But there are several things that are helping me right now. First, MFP. Obviously. Secondly, I focus more on setting realistic fitness and diet goals, than losing weight. Losing weight…

I usually eat between 1500 and 1800 a day; I also work out at least 55 minutes every day. Five days a week, I'm doing 90 minutes, including stretching. So far over the last 8 weeks, I've lost 1 inch from my upper arms and calves, 2.5 inches from my waist and hips, and 3.5 inches from my thighs. I'd say I'm coming along…

More or less, yes. I'm careful not to indulge more than a few times a week... but I love hamburgers. Not cheeseburgers, hamburgers. Love them. Could eat one every day of the week. But I try to only eat hamburgers that I make myself, because then I can guarantee what goes on it, how much, and how lean the meat is. And I…

Depends on what I'm doing. When I was going to the gym a few years ago, I had a gym partner, and it was great. We did spend time talking, but we also pushed each other to do one more set, or five more minutes on the bike, or go a little bit faster, or let's run instead of walking. It was great. But when I'm walking, I need…

A cute dress. But mostly I'm just looking forward to wearing a size 8/10 and being able to wear heels! Edit: Oh my goodness and tanks and shorts! How could I forget? I can't wear either item right now outside the house, so I can't wait to wear them in public!

Hiya! What are your goals? Feel free to add me if you'd like! :)

Thank you very much! It's certainly helped my confidence, that's for sure!

Yes it is much easier gaining than losing! I didn't realize how mentally involved it would be. It's been so, so hard to acknowledge why I'm overweight, the habits I formed that got me here, and even harder changing those habits.

I'm 31 and am working to form healthy habits, which I hope will help me lose 180 pounds. I could definitely use the support! Anyone can add me, no note needed. :)
