Depends on how much sugar and whether or not it's balanced by other things. Like the sugar in fruit is okay, because fruit contains fiber. The sugar in stuff like peanut butter is also okay, because it's balanced by the protein. I don't count my sugar at all, and I've lost almost 50 pounds the last 4 months. I'm more…

Hiya and welcome! I started my own weight-loss process four months ago (as of today), and so far I've lost 46 pounds. I still have about 140 to go before I reach my ultimate goal weight. One of the things I've learned is that it takes time to form better habits. I think it actually takes longer to form the new habits than…

I actually eat more now. The difference is that it's spread out throughout the day, instead of just one or two meals. Before, I was only eating one meal a day, which contained most of my daily allotment of calories. And then one "snack", which was usually between 200 and 400 calories. I eat a LOT now. But I'm losing…

Oh my goodness yes. It's one of my worst habits, and one that I've tried so hard to break the last few months. One of the things I've done is started small. First I started eating breakfast every day in addition to dinner (which used to be my only meal). Then I added a snack. Even if I didn't feel hungry, I still ate a…

I know she does, and this is her way of showing it, just like telling my husband to lay off the Dew is her way of telling him that she loves him, too. It's just kind of obnoxious is all. I'm glad I've got her to "mother" me, since I lost my own mom 3 years ago.

I haven't told very many people either, just a couple of close friends, my husband, and my MIL. But I'm making it clear that this is more about making healthier choices overall than it is about losing weight. I'm making nutrition and exercise my focus, knowing that the weight will drop off as long as I do that. You're…

I do agree with that, and I try to eat healthy about 80% of the time, but I do have my bad days and my good days. I don't think anything I eat is really all that unhealthy though. I always look at the nutrition facts (not just calories, but sodium, saturated fat, and sugar, as well as vitamins and nutrients), but for me,…

Thanks, everyone! My MIL is actually a pretty cool person (though living with her is kind of a pain in the butt), it's just this thing that really drives me nuts. When I first started, she kept telling me I needed to exercise more, which I knew I did, but first I had to get used to sweating and actually moving. I do feel a…

Thanks everyone! I actually indulge a little bit each day in something unhealthy just for the taste of it; the difference is I fit it into my calories for the day, rather than giving myself "splurge" days. I'm super careful about what I eat on the days I'm not exercising (though those days are rare; I usually take one day…

I have about 175 pounds to lose. I'd be happy to help you along, if I can. Just remember that it's more important to break up your weight loss into smaller, nutrition and exercise-oriented goals, rather than focusing on the weight. It'll come off on its own, as long as you focus on proper eating and exercise habits. :)…

That's amazing! You look fantastic!

You should join the group for those who need to lose more than 100. I'm in it too! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/669619-need-to-lose-100-lbs-or-more-lets-start-a-group I've just started my journey, but I'll tell you some things I've learned: 1) Break up your weight loss into smaller, nutrition/exercise oriented…

This does look fun! 1. Your stats... Age: 31 Height: 5'5" Body Frame: I don't know. I'm curvy, but I'm also way overweight. We'll see as I get closer to my GW. Weight: 300+ Jeans size: 24 2. How tall are you? Do you like your height? I'm 5'5" and I like it just fine. 3. A picture of your thinspiration. What features do you…

You all look so great, I can't wait until mine are as amazing. The only before & after I have so far are on my profile; my profile picture was taken last week, and I have another picture that was taken at the end of April, which was a couple days before I started exercising and tracking everything. I think I've been on MFP…

Absolutely nothing. As far as I'm concerned, this is a lifetime change, so giving up the things that I love are not an option. Some of the things that I've given up were things that I never should have been doing in the first place. For example, I now eat 5-6 times a day instead of once or twice. I drink a lot more water.…

I'm from Tacoma, WA. I don't know if we have a "hometown" food per se, but seafood is very popular and plentiful here. I love crab, lobster, shrimp, and salmon, and all of them are pretty easy to get here. Oh and clam chowder! We have a lot of international cuisine though. When we decide to dine out, we have our choice of…

You look amazing! Great job!

You're very handsome! Great job. :)

Yes, yes, yes. I'm getting like no support from my husband. You know what though? This is my journey, and I'll make it without him if I have to. Maybe when I weigh less than him for the first time in our 10 year relationship, he'll be inspired to get off his butt and start encouraging me. I feel for you though, I really…

You are beautiful and such an inspiration!

You look great! And you do not look 40, either. I'd put you at 30, tops.
-
You are stunning!
-
Aww love this! So amazing!

You were 320 pounds? You look smaller than that in your "before" picture. But great job, you're beautiful!

One of my favorite things to do with zucchini is slice it or dice it, and toss it with squash, onion, tomatoes, mushrooms, and turkey kielbasa or chicken sausage, add some olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper, and cook it in the oven at 400 degrees for about a half hour, stirring once or twice. It is soooooooooo good. And…

I like to cook and need to lose between 175-180 pounds. Feel free to add me! :)

You sound a LOT like me. Like you, I tried diets only to fail. Starved myself and then over-ate. Kept reaching set limits and then going past them. So disappointing. I need to lose about 175 pounds or so. Feel free to add me. I'd be happy to help motivate (and be motivated by) you!

Hi Carolyn, I'm CeCe and pretty new to my own lifestyle change. I'd be happy to make this journey with you. :)

Oh Jen. I'm in tears. So much of what you said resonated with me, especially the feeling like a failure part. But you know what? You're not a failure and neither am I. You've lost weight before, you *can* and you *will* do it again. You *will* conquer this monster. I'll be happy to make this journey with you if you'll let…

I love this! So happy for you, and can't wait until I can say the same! I've got a long way to go, but I'll get there.
