  • This is simply amazing. You should be a nutrition expert.
  • Sounds delicious... Have any pictures? I'd be interested in seeing them!
  • Props to the OP! More people should read this.
  • I eat a ton of protein as well. You can add me as a friend if you'd like to look at my diary to see where I get the protein from. It's mostly from chicken, fish, Greek yogurt, milk, and protein powder.
  • And take your health care advice from a website that sells astrology reports? No thank you. Read these: http://www.leangains.com/2010/10/top-ten-fasting-myths-debunked.html Particularly Myth #7: "Skipping Breakfast is Bad and will make you Fat." There's no proof that any of that is true.
  • If you're not hungry in the morning and don't feel like eating breakfast, then don't eat breakfast. It's not required, and skipping breakfast won't slow down your metabolism or whatever BS people say. Just consume the calories when you want and you'll be fine. No need to force yourself to eat when you don't want to.
  • Probably bought a really bad protein powder. Some are delicious, in my opinion.
  • Yep, as others have said, you don't get to decide where your body loses fat. That's up to your body. All you can do is concentrate on consuming less calories than you burn and improve the muscles you have.

  • I do strength training three days a week, strenuous cardio and a little core work twice a week. On off days, I still take my dog for ~30 minute walks at a moderate pace, but those are still rest days. The body has no problem recovering from light cardio like that. Our bodies weren't made to sit in desks and couches all…
  • Also, why not just use a Ziploc bag?
  • Why do you open every container and tub before work every morning? I'm confused.
  • Gluten free vegan?! What CAN you eat?
  • It might be tougher at the beginning to get motivated, but after a week or two and once I begin to see even the smallest amount of progress, I can't wait to go to the gym again and keep it up. It gets easy to stay motivated once you get back in gear. Just push yourself for the next couple weeks and then you'll be kicking…
  • Mine is milk and protein powder. They're probably the only things I eat every day.
  • Reading some of these responses, I think the question also depends on what kind of exercise you're doing. The more intense exercises will probably be limited more than one of endurance. If you're just doing endurance cardio, you'll get dehydrated faster and maybe tired a bit faster, but it probably won't affect you too…
  • I commented on this on my status update. Yeah, my gym has been much hotter the last couple days than it usually is. They must just keep the AC on the same number regardless of the fact it's 110 degrees outside, so I get much hotter working out. It affected my lift today because I would tire out during my sets quicker than…
  • I don't get irritable at all. At first I felt hunger for the last few hours of my fast, but now it's not even difficult, and I've only been doing it for two months. It's really pretty easy once you get used to it. Learn to drink coffee (or tea) without sweeteners and it's really pretty easy to suppress your appetite for a…
  • What's the point of counting calories if you're just going to binge and then not even track it? For it to be effective, you need to count all you're eating, not just when you're eating good.
  • If only it were that easy to get "bulky..." Guys with natural testosterone work hard in the gym and eat a ton for years to try to get bulky, and yet girls think if they touch something heavy they'll immediately get bulky. Lift heavy weights and ignore the "lift light weights for a lot of reps" crap. Do cardio to help lose…
  • People need to not freak out about the small amount of carbs in things like lettuce. If you're avoiding lettuce because it has carbs, then your diet has a problem.
  • Didn't read the whole thing, but I hate articles that attempt to tell people that cardio is somehow bad. Even if you're not losing weight from it (though if your diet is right, there is no reason you shouldn't be), your heart and lungs will thank you for it.
  • I eat between 170-200 grams of protein a day, and I get the bulk of my protein from chicken, fish, and Greek yogurt. Those are all high in protein and low in calories. You don't need protein shakes to get protein.
  • I don't think it would hurt the OP to fast for a day after a binge like that. If you want, take a protein shake or two, but you ate enough that it might not be a bad idea to try to fast for a day and go way under your calorie goal. Then eat normal again starting tomorrow.
  • Hi all, I added Donald, and I'm looking for new friends on this site too so feel free to add me! :)
  • How do you expect anyone to answer that question? There's way too many variables that it depends on.
  • Your body doesn't care if you're getting the calories from chocolate or from strawberries. If you consume the same amount of calories, you'll get fat from it. Of course you should count calories from fruit and vegetables and of course someone could hypothetically gain weight from eating too much fruit and vegetables.
  • This! If you want to get the most out of your workout (and why wouldn't you?), use free weights and avoid machines.
  • You don't "tone up." You lose fat or you gain fat. Your body decides where the fat comes from and where the fat goes, not you. You can also build muscle or lose muscle. Your best bet is to just work on losing fat and gaining muscle by lifting heavy weights and you'll look "toned."
  • How long were you sitting there for? The HRM is probably not completely accurate, but you also do burn calories by just being alive.
  • Did you read the article? Calories can't tell time! It doesn't matter if you eat at 8 and go to bed at 8:05, 10:05, or 12:05. Calories are all the same no matter what time you consume them.
