What is IIFYM?

Hi, my name is Naveen. I live in Toronto Ontario. I'm 45 years old and a working mom of two grown-up boys ages 18 and 19. I'm scheduled to have the RNY on March 26, 2017. I'm both excited and nervous about this big change. Would love to be part of an active support group.

I am scheduled for RNY on March 26th, and staring optifast next weekend for 2 weeks.

Hi, I am scheduled for RNY on March 26th. Starting OptiFast next weekend. Would love to join your list of friends.

I haven't had the surgery yet. Meeting the surgeon this week to hopefully set a date in March or April 2017. I am happy to connect with anyone going through this experience.

After 30, I'll introduce high fibre carbs back in. This is just a kickstart. I also weight train 3 times a week. Dr Bernstein is a weight loss franchise

I agree with this. Skirts and dresses hide all of the imperfections, especially for a pear shape like me.
-
I think this is a very reasonable approach and a good balance of discipline while enjoying life. :-)

"I Like to Move It (Jens O. Radio Edit)" by Bang Gang. A really fast beat - great for cardio machines and running.
-
Amazing and so inspiring for me too!
-
Wonderful...keep up the great work!

Hi Corinne, I don't have the answer but I can totally relate to what you are saying...the end of the day is when all of my calories get consumed. I too am a working mom and I have two teenagers, not 3 :-) I have started working out on my elliptical after dinner or I go for a walk and listen to my favourite songs to calm me…

Yes, count me in. Send me a friend request!

Hello, I just saw this post. I'm 42 and just finished an MBA last month, while working and being mom to two teens. I'll send you a friend request.
-
Thank you for the encouragement. Baby steps....

I found at around 10lbs lost, I would start to get comments. I think it's because it shows in my face before it comes off other parts of my body.
-
Thanks. I needed to read this post today. I look and feel different but it is not reflected on the scale. I was about to get discouraged.
-
I agree with previous posters...it took about 15 lbs for me to notice the difference and about 20lbs for others to really notice.
-
I agree. Music is what keeps me focused. I use a playlist of songs that make me want to move and dance. I only allow myself to play this list when I am working out. So it gets me motivated to move AND I enjoy my workout even more.

Love that you wore it around the house! Way to go!
-
Thanks for sharing your pictures. I'm weight training 3 times per week but have not yet seen the muscle definition. This will inspire me to keep going.
-
I DID IT - ONEDERLAND AS OF THIS MORNING! WOOHOO!
-
I'm 5 lbs aways from Onederland and have been stuck here for 2 weeks. Hoping to get there soon!
-
How many calories (ballpark) would the workout burn?
-
Thanks for sharing your story. You have given me renewed inspiration! You look great!

I guess it matters today because I just did 45 minutes elliptical, and worked my a** off. The machine says 300 calories (I did not hold the heart monitr and kep my hands on the moving arms). MFP says 626 calories. I desperately want to believe MFP  but don't want to overestimate by so much either!
-
Thanks, I took the plunge this morning and was +2.0 lbs! Grrrrr! Time to break out the measuring tape
-
Count me in. I'm travelling to Hong Kong and China in December and would love to be closer to my goal weight by then.
-
Thanks for sharing...you look great. Your numbers are similar to mine and I have just started the journey so it's nice to see what the end goal can be. Very inspiring!
