  • I think you should take the money you would spend on her and get a personal trainer. It sounds to me as though you need someone to hold you accountable for showing up at the gym and since she doesn't have motivation to go then it is having a negative impact on you. I think you need to stop worrying about her motivation and…
  • I suggest that she talk to her doctor and learn the right way to go about it. She may also find out that no matter what she does at this time she may not be able to put any weight on. I was like that from my senior year in high school until I got pregnant with my first 10 years later. I could not get the scale to break 106…
  • Okay, don't shoot me but could you be pregnant? The only time I have ever put on 15 pounds in one month was when I was pregnant with my first. If that isn't the case for you then maybe try weighing on a few different scales if possible, maybe yours is broken? Otherwise, I've got nothing for you.
  • It's natural to fart but it's not natural to clear the room when you do.
  • I bow down to you, there is no way I would be able to keep that schedule. I bet the 28 days off is a nice payoff though. :drinker: OP, I have found that working out before work is way easier than after work, especially while working nights.
  • My husband used to be horribly gassy, like you have to leave the house when he farted gassy, then he switched from milk to Lactaid and cut down on his dairy intake and it went away. He still has some that make you gag but it's not several times a day like it used to be. Maybe try that, you could be lactose intolerant. He…
  • Use the recipe builder, you enter in how many servings it makes and all the ingredients then it will tell you how many calories per serving.
  • Go ahead and have a good cry, crying can actually be a really good stress reliever. Also, is there someone you have that you can vent to? A friend, a boy/girlfriend, a parent? Just talking about all your stresses can help too. Don't keep this bottled up or you will end up blubbering all over your bosses desk. I know…
  • I work midnights and I log from the time I get up to the time I go to bed as one day. I get up around 930pm and go to bed the next day around 130pm. Some people log midnight to midnight and that works for them. I also exercise first thing when I wake up so that goes on the same day as my food would. You can also change…
  • She wasn't talking about her daughter being enamored with Karen Carpenter, she was talking about her friend in high school. OP, I think you are handling this very well, just keep talking to her and listening to her. Stay involved and keep providing healthy examples, she will come through the teen years just fine.
  • Easy answer, yes. MFP is set up based on no exercise so when you enter exercise and eat them back you are still eating at a deficit.
  • Welcome to MFP! Congratulations on your weight loss thus far and good luck in your future endeavor!
  • Your balance looks good but you need to eat more. Eating less than 1200 is only going to hurt you in the long run and it's not sustainable. Keep up the exercise, eat back your exercise calories and you will be swimsuit ready in no time. Good luck.
  • I am going to try this, I used the link that was first provided to figure out my TDEE-20% and found out that I was inadvertantly eating at that the last 2 weeks. I actually lost 4 pounds during those 2 weeks also, coincidence? I think not. ( I know that my ticker only says a 1 pound loss but I gained 3 pounds in the…
  • I try to log right after I eat but sometimes that's not easy when the kiddos are pulling for you to come do this or that. On those days I log after the kids are in bed when they can't bother me. If you have a pad of paper and can write it down right away then go back and log it later that should work. If you find yourself…
  • I work out 4 days a week and take 3 days off, I have recently started doing Zumba at home on the Wii for a 5th day but I don't always fit it in. I only go to the gym on days that I work and that's simply because the gym at work is free.

  • When you are sick you should eat when you are hungry and not worry about how many calories you are consuming. Get lots of liquids and rest and get better, then start focusing on calories again. If you aren't hungry then don't eat, listen to your body so you can get well. I hope you feel better soon!
  • That might have to do with the fact that there is not much else available to go get during 3rd shift. I know my options are limited to Mcdonalds, QuikTrip, Burger King or Hyvee (grocery store). The snack machine is just so readily accessible, I don't have to get in my car, drive somewhere, get out, go in the store, get…
  • Right, but for me it makes total sense. I also don't eat until I start my shift so technically all my food is eaten from midnight to midnight. Different things work for different people and logging this way works for me. It also helps because my schedule changes every two months. My next deployment I work the same hours…
  • Right now I work midnight to 10 am, I wake up at 930pm and go to bed around 130pm the next day. I log from the time I wake up til the time I go to bed. I work out before work so exercise is logged on the same day as the food. For instance, I woke up at 930pm on the 26th but all my food and exercise will be logged on the…
  • Pop your 8 month old in a play pen or swing and use a work out DVD, I am sure shehe would have fun watching mommy dance around. Or you could pop him/her in the stroller and go for a walk or jog around the neighborhood. It's easier to exercise with your child around when they are still relatively unmobile. My 2 yo and 5 yo…
  • I log from the time I wake til the time I go to bed for each day, wether I am working or not. I also log my exercise that way. Some days are short and others are long since I flip my sleep around but it all evens out at the end of the week. Play around with it for the next week and see what keeps things straight for you.…
  • You can also check the restaurants website, some allow you to build your meal so you can specialize what you get. Doing this before heading out is a great way to help you make better choices.
  • Don't get me wrong because I love Jack In the Box burgers, great for a hangover, but all that grease is what left you feeling ill. Stick with less grease filled cheat meals every so often and you will feel much better about it. Great job not eating all of the meal, that sounds like a lot of food.
  • Mine is open to friends as they are the ones who are likely to comment, I would hate for one of them to say good job without actually knowing that I did a good job. I don't make posts on the forums asking for help with my diary so I dont' see a need for it to be open to everyone on MFP. It's a personal choice, if keeping…
  • Maybe try moving your workout to the morning right after you wake up? If you have an 8-5 job then you are working out after putting in a full days work. While you might be getting 8 hours of sleep at night you are still going to be tired after being up for 12 hours or so. Try moving your workout time around and see if…
  • As far as your 21st is concerned, designate a friend to keep track of your drinks so you can look back the next week and laugh at what you had. Log off of that. Happy birthday and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!! :drinker:
  • We do corn, green beans, carrots, rice/gravy, and pasta sides. We don't really mix it up much due to having two small children who are still picky eaters, that and due to our schedules we only eat together 3 meals per week.
  • Soup, any sort that is really brothy. But in my opinion, while sick you need to listen to your body. If you aren't hungry then don't force yourself to eat as that could make the sickness worse. Remember the old adage(sp?), feed a cold and starve a fever. It won't do you any good to eat if you are just going to throw it up…
  • I agree with this, the only thing you need Wii wise is the hand contoller and the belt that holds it, the belt comes with the Zumba package. Oh, you also need a mindset that allows you to look like a trapped gazelle in a wildfire. You will look silly at first!
