  • I love beets but I haven't figured out how to work them into smoothies without the smoothies tasting sort of like sweet dirt. Looking forward to seeing some advice on this point!
  • I hike a lot too - though usually without a large pack. I don't know of a better counter but I've been using a heart rate monitor to get more accurate estimates. I'm curious to see if anyone suggests another counter too.
  • I wish I knew the answers. I can really relate to what you're saying, especially waking up to what a total life/self exploration this all is. Hang in there. You're worth the hard work!
  • I'm 6' and I'm probably going to shoot for 165-175. That was always the range I felt healthiest at in the past. But I have a lot of weight to lose so, for now, I'm shooting for 10 pound incremental goals.
  • I tried once - performed CPR on a motorcyclist after seeing his bike go airborne and fly across the highway - but it did not work. H was too badly hurt.
  • Thanks for posting this - I'm going to try I this week. I'll report back when I do :)
  • I'm in a hotel without a fridge for a couple more days so I couldn't get anything perishable. I got some apples, a box of Kind bars, some little boxes of raisins, and some chocolate (so that I'll have a bit of chocolate instead of ordering cake from room service eit dinner). I live off Whole Foods at home. ETA: I can't…
  • Thanks everybody! I sent you all Friend requests. ^^those color runs look awesome. I'm going to see if there s one in my area. ETA: I went to Whole Foods yesterday and got some healthy snacks for the week. I've never done that before on business trips and I think it will help.
  • I used to get tendinitis in my foot/ankle. I had to do some PT to strengthen the area and find the right shoes to resolve the issue. I was able to do that with help from my doctor and a good running store. I agree with the suggestions to start slowly but you may be ale to find a permanent solution to the tendinitis if you…
  • ^^ I'm planning to do a 5 mile race around Thanksgiving but I think I will try to do a 5k in October to keep myself focused. I always used to love road races, and I think it would be a good motivater. Especially since I will be traveling a lot this month, and tend to fall off track when I'm on the road. ^Sweet! I accepted…
  • We're also almost twins except that I'm just starting out and, um, ten years older. See my stats above.
  • We're almost twinsies except that I'm just getting started. Female 34 6' SW 286 CW 286 GW 280 (I'm setting incremental 5-10 pound goals) UGW 170
  • Sweet! I've been doing C210K but have repeated week 5 a bunch of times. I really like it. I'll shoot you a FR.
  • Hi all! I'm a little late to the party, so I'll make a three week goal. SW: 286 GW: 280 9/7 286 This week' bonus goal: log every day even though I usually act like business trips don't count Feel free to shoot me a FR - I could use some more buddies :)
  • I need to lose about 100 pounds too, and I also struggle with staying motivated and making time to work in weight loss. Feel free to add me if you'd like another buddy. I don't have kids but I'm tall, so we have that in common :) I've started and stopped a lot in the last few years. I really want this to be my time!
