I'd choose a hot body. I know that because I've already made that choice. As I get older and more wrinkled, I have chosen to sink most of my money into weight loss and fitness instead of botox and plastic surgery. When I consider how much better I feel, and how much more fulfilling my life is after losing almost 50 lbs,…

You did an amazing job photo logging! Congrats on accomplishing something many people only dream about!

You (and your sister) look fantastic! Congrats on such a momentous accomplishment!

These are my favorite success stories - because imho, true weight-loss success = keeping it off!!

Honey, if you still have 124 lbs to go, you are still morbidly obese. He is not making moves on you because you've suddenly gone from "not" to "hot"... he's most likely having renewed interest because YOU are feeling better about yourself! ANY increase in self-worth or positivity about ourselves is interpreted as sexy by…

congratulations - on the weight loss and the babies!

I am 5"8" and 146 lbs. I started out (this time around) at 160 lbs. I exercise aprox. 7-10 hours per week, and I cannot lose weight at 1650 calories. I average around 1400. Also, I do not trust any "workout calories burned" reports. They are all inflated. Also, I had to cut back on my exercise so that I could lose weight.…

If you are not going to count calories, the only ways I know to lose weight are intermittent fasting (probably not doable for you due to blood glucose and thyroid problems) or monitoring your hunger. By monitoring hunger - I mean you should feel slightly hungry all the time. This is the only way - without an accurate…

You made it 10 minutes today!!! Congratulations! Now, just try for 11 tomorrow! Keep trying, and I promise that eventually you will lose that self-consciousness. Oh - and buy yourself some really cute running clothes that make you feel good (well, that helps me anyway!):) also - absolutely no one can tell how fast you are…

Why does your cardio have to be running? Since you love lifting, how about interval circuit training? Or another kind of cardio, like spin, Zumba, elliptical etc? But since you asked, and since I do love running, my 3 best ideas are: 1) run with a friend. Or better yet, help a friend with his or her couch to 5k. Positive…

Wow! What a difference - and you look younger too!

On long voyages (back in the old days) sailors, passengers, children, everyone would drink beer as their only hydration because it stayed sanitary longer than water. Granted the alcohol content was very low, but still...

I EBF for the first 6 months before slowly introducing solids. I ate 1800- 1900 cals per day and weighed around 190 lbs when I started (5'8"). This was not some sort of pregnancy related weight gain... I had weighed 185-195 for about 10 years previous. I lost slowly - an average of 1 lb per week - but I was never hungry. I…

I had started gaining weight in my late 20s and had spent my 30s overweight and miserable. I honestly thought that was just how it was... I was just meant to be fat. But then a friend of mine - who had spent a lifetime being overweight - joined weight watchers and lost a lot of weight. Woop-de-doo. I had seen a lot of…

Photos are working now! Congrats!! You look awesome!

That's amazing, Earnest! "beating" a food addiction is every bit as hard as drugs or alcohol! I'll join you in praising the Lord for his Faithfulness!!!

Gracious! I thought I was the only one! I've lost 45 pounds altogether (started with WW) and I have such a hard time shaving my armpits now. On the plus side, shaving my legs is a lot faster since I have lost so much real estate :)

And you look great! Congratulations on losing the weight!! Keep your Zumba on!

At my gym they have 2 video monitors aimed right on the cubbies. Nothing ever gets stolen - even if it is left for days! Well, once an idiot left (as in forgot) his Rolex in a cubbie (who does that?) and it was taken - but after the "culprit" was confronted he claimed to only be keeping it safe and returned the watch.

There is absolutely nothing runners like more than to talk about their running (lol!) I'm like everyone else, and couldn't run for even 5 minutes when I started running 6 months ago. Last Saturday I ran 13 miles in a little more than 2 hours. And, I am 45 years old. I sooo wish I had started running 20 years ago!

I read every single one of these replies. Then I went to bed and showed my husband of 26 years how much I appreciate him!

Way To Go, Shawn! You are a true inspiration!! Funny, when I first lost the weight, it was to get back to the 155 I was when I got married too!!!
-
This is exactly what i needed today! At 5"7.5" I have been struggling to get down to 135. I am hovering at 145 now and found your photos very representative of how I look. And seeing how great i will look at 135 really gives me a kick in the butt! Thank You!

I had 4 children in my 20s and then had two more at age 38 and 40. I had never been thin. I was 155 when I got married and 165-175 throughout my 20s. I gained a little with each baby, and I was 180-195 throughout my 30's and during the last pregnancy knew I HAD to do something about it before I got too old. So, I started…

You give me hope :)

You did great! And should feel very proud of your accomplishment. 13.1 miles without stopping? Incredible!

Fantastic! Becoming fit is like breaking out of a prison - the whole world opens up!

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDRPQ4-PNK-PIIQ-Headphones/dp/B003MB0WMA/ref=pd_cp_e_0 cheap, comfortable, and stay in until I take them out. I bought 3 pair because I was so afraid they'd stop making them :) They sort of clip to your earlobe like clip on earrings... except much more comfy. And they do not interfere with…

I'm no good with snappy comebacks, and I find it very difficult to be mean to someone - even when they are rude. However, one thing that works for me is to ask them to clarify and to absolutely refuse to accept their comment. "You'd be so pretty if you lost weight" "Huh? what do you mean?" "I mean, if you lost weight you'd…

"Your body loses weight in chunks, not linear. I have found that you can do everything right and your weight loss seems to plateau but if you are patient and keep exercising and eating at a deficit (however slight) you will lose it, it will suddenly "whoosh". There are so many variables for the scale; water retention,…
