  • I still haven't heard back from the doctor. My face (lips and eyes) are swelling worse this week so I called and made an appointment with an allergist next Wednesday.
  • The nurse called me yesterday morning - all of the tests they ran came back "normal". She was done when she told me that and was ready to hang up. I said "Ok, so what can I do about my issues?". She was surprised and asked me what my issues were. I told her about the swelling of my eyes and lips and also being cold all the…
  • I have lost 50 lbs. over the past year and a half - and now I am freezing all the time (not just my hands and feet, but my entire body). This is brand new - I don't have a history of being cold at all. I went to the doctor today just to make sure it isn't due to a thyroid issue and/or low iron. He thinks that the coldness…
  • 5' 4" age - almost 48 SW: 181 lbs CW: 129 lbs GW: 115 lbs (maybe?)
  • In for learning more!
  • Ok, I take that back - partially. I looked a little closer and I do have all the DVDs I need for the scheduled workout plan. But, I have several more DVDs in addition - wondering if I just stick with the schedule for the first 10 weeks and then I can add the "extra" ones.... I'm sure it's not a huge deal - but would love…
  • Fabulous progress! What does the cat cross-stitch on your wall say?
  • Thanks a lot for the input! So far I have yet to do anything other than walking (at least not enough that I feel the need to log it) but this is all great info for when I need it - thanks again! :flowerforyou:
  • I took a little over a week off due to a huge blister on the ball of my foot, but before that I was up to averaging around 78k a week or so.
  • Yes, I agree - it really depends on the brand. Right now I can wear 3 different pairs of size 8 jeans that I got at Target; however, I have a pair of size 10 capri pants from Kohl's that are still a little tight. I have a pair of size 10 pants from Khol's that fit well. The size 8 skort from Khol's fits well. And then, I…
  • Bumping so I can come back later when I have more time and read through all of these posts. I am 5' 4" - started at 181.2 lbs, size 18 jeans and size XXL shirts. Today I am 135.8, size 8-10 jeans and size M shirts.
  • Haven't checked eBay yet - but that will be my next stop! Thanks!
  • I recommend "The Complete Guide to Walking for Health, Weight Loss and Fitness" by Mark Fenton. It has a 52 week plan that starts you out at 10-20 minutes of walking per day with one day of rest for Week #1 and builds you up to doing 30-45 minutes of walking per day (with one day off) plus core exercies and cross-training…
  • I totally forgot about doing this and just now tried. I only made it through one rep of each but it's a start and I will do better tomorrow! This shows me (again) just how out of shape I am. I managed over 7,000 steps today - way better than I was doing a week or so again before I got my FitBit. I knew I wouldn't be able…
  • So glad I found this group today! I really need to add some exercise to my routine! Starting weight (5/1/13): 181.2 Start of 40 Week Challenge (4/14/14): 146.6 Today's weight (4/1/14): 146.6 Goal weight (1/19/15): 110-120
  • Well, this isn't good news at all! :grumble:
  • I love tattoos! I have 5 of my own - and plan on getting several more. I am 47 and work for a major financial institution in the US. One of mine "peeks out" depending on the cut of my neckline. Three of mine are completely visible in the summer when I wear capris. One is never visible. I have never had anyone say anything…
  • She is pretty cute, isn't she? I am so much happier with the way I look now and I feel like she can be more proud to parade around in front of her sorority sisters (and their moms) now. Thank you so much!
  • Thanks! When I started this I decided that I wanted to go fairly slow - I wanted to devlelop habits that I'll hopefully be able to stick with for the long haul. Sometimes I get discouraged that I'm going so slowly but then I just remind myself that, for me, it's better this way. You can do it, too! :flowerforyou:
  • Thank you everyone! It is so encouraging to get positive feedback on my progress - especially right now because I have gained two pounds since my mother-in-law entered hospice a week ago. It's nice to know I've really made some progress even though the scale is not my friend right now....
  • Thank you so much to everyone! It makes me feel really good to get all the positive comments!
  • I don't mind you asking at all! I am 5' 4" short... I mean, tall
  • Thanks a lot Dan!
  • Yes! I buy the next smaller size jeans and then try them on every once in a while. I also bought a couple of smaller shirts (too small to fit me now) the other day because they were so cute and so cheap! Edited to add: I should mention that I am getting most of these clothes from the clearance rack at a new consignment…
  • Bumping for future reference - just bought a step last weekend (I did it in the past, but had gotten rid of my original step years ago) and have ordered some really cheap DVDs - they are starting to arrive. Think I'll try out some of the YouTube ones, too.
  • It's because the various states keep databases of the people who buy it and in what quantities - because it can be used to make meth.
  • I took the recommended dosage of Primatene tablets once (for asthma) and wound up in the emergency room. The doctor assumed I had OD'd on something by the way I was acting. I was literally running up and down the halls waiting to be seen. He said I was lucky I hadn't had a heart attack with the way it affected me....
  • Wait for it..........
  • 20 Rold Gold Tiny Twist Cheddar pretzels and 1/4 cup honey roasted peanuts - eaten together. Yum!!
  • Thank you for letting me know I haven't lost my mind (at least, not yet). The harder I thought about it the worse my head hurt. :)
