I've been doing IF for 3 weeks and I love it! I do 16/8 and I find that I'm just not hungry in my fasting times. It's definitely teaching me to listen to my body and know when it's actually hungry as opposed to when my brain is telling me it thinks it's hungry. Everyone's different so it won't necessarily be successful for…

Haha! Come to England! We don't have summers. I've forgotten what the sun looks like....

You could maybe try some pilates first to stretch out your back. It's really low impact and I find it great. Also using a balance ball is excellent for working your core and doesn't put any strain on your back. Other than that I've got a few dvd's from the firm and I love them. They have modified workouts so you just do…

Sorry, not true. My family is littered with redheads, at least one in every generation and not all of their children have red hair. And before you say it, no there was no infidelity.
-
Actually not true. There are many species of birds that do that. But it's unfair to say that women basically sell themselves to get a man because a lot of men do it too, by thinking their looks are the most important thing.

As a psych student I found this question intriguing. My dissertation is going to be based on this somewhat so I'll be interested to know the answers. What I will say though is that sexual selection for men and women is not necessarily the same. Men (theoretically) are attracted to women who are younger, look fit and have a…

^^^THIS! Everyone is different and everyone reacts to things differently so do what works for you.

For all of those who say you absolutely should have breakfast in the morning, watch this, because you really don't. Breakfast is not essential for everyone. If I have breakfast then it makes me hungrier throughout the day and I eat more. If I don't, I eat less. Pretty simple really.…

I'm an hourglass too and I completely understand where you're coming from! It can be so frustrating. I got a dvd by the firm called total body toner which I find awesome. They tell you which part of the body each exercising is targetting so maybe try that and ignore the ones that are for your waist. You're right in that…

Hey, I had a look at your diary and it actually seems really good! I wish I could get my carbs under control and eat more protein. So I don't think it's what you're eating that's the problem. What kind of exercise are you doing? Is it pure cardio? Because if it is then that may be the issue. Cardio is good for making you…

Well, I am doing it for me, to feel good about myself and be healthy.....but......I will get a kick out of showing my ex what he threw away.

THIS. If it isn't just motivation to exercise but motivation in general it could definitely be this. Worth checking out anyway.

I'm with you on motivation. I don't want to be the lazy old me but sometimes it can be hard to make your body move. Maybe try changing your workout. You could simply be bored with it which absolutely kills motivation. Try adding sometthing different and see if that helps.

I'm in university in england just going into my final year which is going to be brutal! So I'm trying to get as much of a headstart over the summer as I can. I was like you, yo yo-ing all over the place but have now made a determined effort to change my lifestyle. It will be so difficult when I go back in October so I will…

LOL! And I actually did laugh out loud!

I doubt the snickers are making that much of a difference. It also depends on what else you're eating. Are you eating fresh food or processed stuff? Because fresh food is always better and that will make a difference. Do you drink a lot of water and if you don't you should. I would also try adding some strength training…

I did read it and I still disagree. Yeah, you do choose to binge but like I said, if you don't know why you're choosing to do that then it's not as simple as purely coming down to choice. Control for me, is everything. I now know why I binge and that knowledge gives me the power to control it and my cravings. Everyone's…

These are all fantastic ideas! Thanks guys, I can't wait to try some of them out!

You have the motivationa and the determination and that's half the battle really. Congrats on what you've done so far! You will get to where you want and it's people like you who are achieving their goals that make me more positive that I can. Feel free to add me if you want! :-)

Hey, I'm looking to lose just over 5 stone so feel free to add me. The support I get on here has been instrumental on me not quitting like I do every other time I try to lose weight. So hi and good luck!

I know exactly how you feel! I was working in a clothes shop a couple of years ago and a customer asked me when my baby was due. I was so not pregnant! She then patted my stomach. I was absolutely devastated! It's so hurtful when people make assumptions about you and this woman was no supermodel either! Now I just try to…

I also have a problem with boredom/comfort eating and something that works for me is keeping my hands busy. I've started doing puzzles (which sounds stupid I know) but they really keep me from boredom eating. If my hands are busy they don't have time to do anything else. Everyone's different though. Try different things,…

For me it's pictures. I lost a whole load of weight last year and then put it back on and looking at the pictures of then and now really motivates me to get back to that. I know I did it once so I can do it again. As for exercises, there are no 'easy' exercises. I started off with pilates as it's really low impact and that…

I agree! There is more than one idea of feminine and it's good to know that people can realise this. Personally, I'm with you. I have an hourglass figure with curves and I love it. I just want the curves to be a bit smaller that's all. Thanks for the OP. It answered a lot of questions I had!

My profile picture says what I think :-)

I have to say I disagree with that. Choice isn't everything. Binge eating can come from a place that you don't even know about. Choice, control and willpower are not the same thing. They're all psychological and as such are all complicated but it's not as simple as just choosing not to do something when you don't know why…

I think the fact that you've recognised that it's not healthy is a massive step. There's no quick fix unfortunately. What is working for me so far, is trying to identify why I turn to food. When did you start binging? What is it that triggers the desire to binge? And yeah, I do remember how I'll feel the next day which can…

As long as you eat right 90% of the time you'll be fine, and this advice was given to me by my trainer who is an ex bodybuilder. If you're only doing it once a week I see absolutely no problem. If it really bothers you though then do an extra workout the next day.

For those interested in skin brushing, this article is brilliant. I've been doing it for a few weeks and I've definitely noticed a difference. http://www.celluliteinvestigation.com/2010/07/how-to-dry-brush-cellulite.html
