•
you don't mention if you're taking lessons or not. if you're not - or maybe even if you are - have you tried justinguitar.com ? a lot of beginners i know seem very happy with his lessons, and they seem clear and interesting, and you can go at your own pace.
Awesome, thanks guys! I'm feeling the pain…
• I bought a guitar a few months ago and I'm learning but it's going so slowly which is really frustrating! Anybody got any tips or advice for a beginner??
• Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I really appreciate it! I'm living in china at the minute so not sure if I can get my hands on a slow cooker but I'll definitely have a look. Looking forward to trying some of these out!
• Awesome thanks! I'll definitely try it!
• Bump. This looks delicious! Does the peanut butter make it taste really peanutty (it's a word, honest) or is it just there in the background? I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter but this really sounds delicious!
• Mmmmmm......Babybel......
• If I need a sugar fix I try to go for some fruit or dried fruit. It usually satisfies my sugar craving although you have to be careful about how much you have. Dried mango is delicious or there's apricots and things like that.
• Bump to read again later. Fantastic post. Thanks!
• I second this. I have M.E. and have massive problems with my joints and muscles and yoga makes a huge difference. I rotate between yoga and pilates depending on my energy levels and have definitely noticed a difference. I do also use supports whenever necessary, usually on my wrists and I also have a dodgy knee so I have a…
• Emotional eating and self sabotage are things that I'm really good at so I sympathise! The first thing I did was try to figure out why I do it. For me it involved a lot of counselling and soul searching but I got there in the end. Try and look at when you first started doing it, what triggered you to use food as a crutch?…
• I love innocent smoothies! I like the kids ones to just throw in a bag and have on the go. I tend to treat them the same as fruit juice and don't have them too often but they're really good for a change of pace and for a bit of flavour. Go for it!
• I love the honesty of this story. You weren't perfect, you weren't always motivated, you didn't always eat 'right' and do all the things that we think we have to but you never stopped. That is so incredibly motivating because I think so ma ny of us think we have to be perfect all the time and when we aren't, then we've…
• Bump for when I have time to read it! Thanks!
• Maybe instead of going cold turkey with something that you're so used to, why not try cutting the amount you put on your plate and gradually decrease what you have. For a lot of people cold turkey just ends in binges on the things they've been cutting out so doing it gradually might help re-train your brain as to what you…
• Hey, I have ME/CFS which really sucks. I find it hard to exercise but try and do it when I can, mostly yoga or slowish walks. It would be great to have friends who understand that sometimes you have to make a choice between exercising and doing an everyday activity like cooking or showering and that you just can't go all…
• Go on Youtube, there's all sorts of workouts on there that are free and can be done at home. Personally I like to use Blogilates but it depends what you're after. You don't need a gym to get fit.
• It's only 1 potato, it's really not gonna kill you. As the other poster said, carbs are not the enemy.
• I know a little bit about paleo but I'd love to know a bit more. I'm really kinda stuck at the moment and just need to get back in the groove.
• Because exercise isn't just about weight loss. It's about becoming fitter and stronger and making your body healthy. The weight loss is just a bonus. I exercise because I enjoy it and I can feel the changes which is a really good feeling. To me, weight loss is 10% genetics, 20% exercise and 70% in the kitchen. It's a whole…
• You guys are taking this way too seriously....
• If you don't have much to lose then it becomes a lot harder. What are your stats? Also why aren't you eating fruit? Fruit is good and an excellent source of fiber. If your diet is mundane then there is more chance you'll get bored of it and end up binging. I would also say add some strength training in, cut back on the…
• I get them regularly and they are amazing! I was always really picky about not liking nuts or dried fruit or stuff but I just tried a few different ones and suprisingly like more than I think. If you know there's stuff you won't like then you bin it and they won't send you it but there's so much choice that it's not really…
• As some others have said trial and error with a few different products may be best until you find what works. At least rinse the sweat off after a workout and I make sure I exfoliate properly at least 3 times a week. Neutrogena is really good. I also heard that after you've exfoliated with hot water (which opens the…
• Absolutely Kelly Brook. I think she has a gorgeous body and she's so comfortable with it which makes it even more sexy. Also Christina Hendricks. Again, I think it's the curves and the confidence she has with it that just makes it so attractive. I'd be happy with either one of those.
• I'm one of those people who would kill to be at 140 (and would consider that pretty slim) but I totally get where you're coming from. If you're used to being smaller and you know that it looks healthy then there's absolutely nothing wrong with trying to get back there. For your height 120 is perfectly healthy so I would…
• I've used this calculator before but had forgotten about it and went back to my old habits (bad gemmy). What I do find interesting about it though is that on the first page it tells you what your minimum daily calories are which for me is a whopping -1500. So if we can safely eat under our BMR (for a certain period of…
• The actual workouts aren't always as long as the video, she sometimes talks at the beginning and the end which you don't have to listen to if you don't want. They are awesome though, I love Cassey's workouts. If you follow the calendar you will definitely see results.
• November 9th. My best friend is getting married and I'm a bridesmaid so I really would just like to be happier in my skin. Not looking to be a specific weight or size (well....maybe a UK size 14) but just happier and smaller :-). Plenty of time to take it slow and steady!
• Yeah, I think you're being a little bit obsessive although it is understandable. If you condition yourself to think that certain foods are bad then you will always feel guilty. Now that you've reached your goal weight (congrats on that), maybe try relaxing things a little bit. Don't call it a cheal meal for one because…
• You're kind of mixing up the leangains approach with the 5:2 one. There's a few things mentioned in the thread on where to look for the info you need.
