Let's try some peer-reviewed and/or academic articles, rather than more pseudoscientific tripe.

Way to completely avoid the question.

Ever heard of glycogen stores? The liver holds around 100 g while the muscles hold around 10g/kg. Meaning that most people can have close to 2000 calories worth of glycogen stored. Unless you're running a marathon, you aren't burning that much.

Goody! More tinfoil-hat "da gubmit is making me fat" nonsense. Personal responsibility? PFFFFFT! Can't have that!
-
YAAAAYYYY More conspiracy theories so we don't have to take responsibility for our own fat *kitten*!

“The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it.” ― Neil deGrasse Tyson As has already been pointed out: the plural of anecdote is not data. Paleo works the same way every other diet works - by creating a caloric deficit. If you find that you can adhere to it, fine. But just as many find…

LULZ @ Wolf trying to shoehorn this BS into his Paleo agenda. Much better analysis here: http://anthonycolpo.com/?p=3680 and here http://wholehealthsource.blogspot.com/2012/06/new-study-is-calorie-calorie.html and here http://carbsanity.blogspot.com/2012/06/modest-proposal-for-peer-review.html…

The same can be said for low carb.

Adherence is, by far, the #1 predictor of success or failure on a diet. So the best diet is the one that: 1. Creates a caloric deficit. 2. You can consistently adhere to.

Yes, because the human digestive system is exactly like that of a ruminant.

MD's have very little nutritional training. Chiropractors and naturopaths are quacks.
-
Oh the irony.

LOL I guess it's much better to blame insulin than to take responsibility for one's own actions. Can't have that -- much better to blame carbs. Even though the insulin hypothesis has been thoroughly debunked. Let's just ignore everything published over the last 30 years (except for the few poorly designed studies that…

If you understood nutrient absorption you probably wouldn't believe this.

Did Cosgrove write this? Because it looks like it was directly plagiarized from Lyle McDonald.

No, the fact that Taubes cherry-picks data, ignores everything that disagrees with his fantasy, and misrepresents his own sources makes him a quack. From some of his own sources: “He knows how to spin a yarn,” says Barbara Rolls, an obesity expert at Pennsylvania State University. “What frightens me is that he picks and…

Yep

Every single one of these is garbage.

Stop talking crazy ;) Everybody knows the universe can only count to 2.
-
No it won't. Once the newbie honeymoon phase is over, you'll spend a lot of time spinning your whieels. All you're doing is training muscular endurance (and likely creating imbalances as well).

LOL. Nothing but broscience from this clown.
-
What, pray tell, is the chemical composition of fiber in the rest of the world?
-
By that rationale you don't need to eat saturated fat or monounsaturated fat, since our body can make all we need from carbohydrates.

Wheat gluten: http://www.slate.com/articles/life/food/2012/01/stop_eating_tofu_start_eating_wheat_gluten_.html (cue the "gluten is the debil" brigade in 3, 2, 1... )

This. Go squat twice your bodyweight for reps and then come back and tell me that 3-5 minutes is excessive.
-
Pure comedic gold.
-
LULZ @ thinking epedemiological studies prove a damn thing.
-
I was wondering how long it would take for the carbophobes to jump in with their nonsense. From one of the top minds in sports nutrition: Alan Aragon:
-
TDEE.

Stop making things up.
