A good running store should have you run in the shoes to see how the work with you and should offer returns if they are not right, when I get new shoes they feel great and never hurt

5'6'' here, I am 130 lbs size 4/6 in pants usually a small in shirts but certain shirts I end up in a medium because I have long arms and a long torso

I could never run the mile in High School, hated running. Then I needed to work out on the cheap so started the C25K. I now run 5ks regularly and I have run a 9k and a half marathon. It is pretty amazing, never thought I would do any of this

I make 3 big healthy meals on Sunday night, then eat the leftovers for lunch and dinner

Skinny Cow chocolate candies are yummy, chocolate almond milk is great too. Sometimes I just need a hershey bar so I have one, it doesn't hurt to have some good old fashioned chocolate once in a while

I ran my first race alone, I run most of my races alone, you usually find someone who runs at the same pace you can chat with

I did the couch to 5k and that taught me to pace myself, if you want to run a distance of more then 1/2 a mile without dropping, so I would suggest that. I know when I completed couch to 5k I was so impressed with myself I wanted to do more so then did couch to 10k DRINK WATER!!!!!!!!!! (seriously so important) I think…

my fave site for recipes is Skinnytaste.com, she even lists out the calories, fat, sugar of all the recipes, some are super easy some are more complicated but everything you can imagine is there

I have been maintaining for a year, at first I gained a bit and realized I needed a lower calorie count to help me maintain. Once you figure that out it is pretty easy

My first 5k was 38 minutes, I just did one last week and got it done in 32, running on a treadmill is much different then outdoors so try that out before you sign up for a race

I'll ditto the shoes but for now inserts will help (I get the no money thing I used inserts in my first set of sneakers and they helped) Before you run do not stretch (I know odd) but do jumping jacks or run in place to wake your muscles up after the run, STRETCH Also water is your best friend drinks lots of it before and…

I always keep healthy snacks near by, both at my house and work, especially work cause if I don't I hit up the candy machine if it is a rough day

I am a huge fan of TJ Maxx and Marshalls, you can get name brands there for the cheap. I also love Old Navy stuff
