  • I started no booze january on the 1st so I'll join the challenge. I really want to see if abstaining improves my weight loss progress. Plus I just feel like it
  • All I do is copy my last update and paste it in the reply section, then I add my update before I hit "post reply". Hope that helps!
  • This happened over Christmas but I saw family members that haven't seen me in a while and received several compliments on my weight loss (I've only lost 20 pounds so far but it still felt awesome to hear ). Yesterday I purchased 2 pairs of size 14 pants. I got them on and while a little snug - they FIT! I know that…
  • You are beautiful! Congratulations on your success.
  • Hi there, you are in the right place if you are ready for it. I've still got a ways to go, but I have lost just over 20 pounds since November when I hit my reset button. I can't tell you how many times I've started over before that. I'm telling you that I know exactly how you feel. It was very depressing to look in the…
  • Hey guys, I think you need to post in the actual challenge thread. It was moved yesterday from motivation and support sub-group to a sub-group called challenges. You can find the January Weight Loss Challenge there.
  • I saw something yesterday that I totally related to. I wish I could remember exactly how it goes. It was something like: "There's a reason the windshield is bigger than the rear view mirror. Stay focused on where you're going, not what you left behind."
  • Sorry this happened. His words were hurtful and it sounds like it really affected you. Please don't let it both you. Ugly people spew ugly words. However, violence is not the answer. You were wrong to hit him, plain and simple. While his words were ugly and hurtful, but they did not warrant physical violence. Again, sorry…

  • MFP so needs a like button for posts. I really want to like every one of these.
  • What saying motivates me? That my *kitten* isn't going to get smaller by just thinking about it. The scale doesn't lie. NOTHING tastes as good as skinny feels. Time to quit the "wine-ing" and excuses. I am fat because of this. Time to be accountable. I have a ton more too that I tell myself on a daily basis:)
  • First off, thank you for your service. I've lost 21 lb so far and for me, it didn't matter what my head wanted to do until my heart was in it. When I finally committed, I decided to go on 1200 calories (which I follow most of the time) and it's working for me. I'm usually not hungry and feel satisfied most days. I drink…
  • Awesome! You are sooo close! What a great accomplishment :)
  • I have several mini goals (it's what keeps me going): 1) hit the 25 lbs lost milestone - only 3.8 lbs to go! 2) fit into a pair of size 14 pants 3) cut out all wine in January
  • I had to dig for this post, but I love posting updates lol! As of today, I only have 14.8 lbs to 199! (Maybe not a big deal to anyone else, but a BFD to me

  • I'm so ready for this! The holidays weren't as bad as they could have been, but they definitely didn't do me any favors toward my weight loss goals. Looking forward to another challenge. I'll be back on 1/1 for weigh-in!

  • Hey, congrats for getting started. Ypu are probably talking wayyyy too much about your "health kick". I'm guessing the things your friend is suggesting are all things that you used to do before you started eating healthier. So now it's time to find other fun things to do.... You are probably worrying and thinking…
  • I'm not even close to being done yet. But for me, my kick in the butt to get started was i saw several pictures (from all angles) where I was in the background during a family birthday party and I was shocked and embarrassed by how terrible I looked. I was sick of being embarrassed to have pictures with my kids taken. It…

  • I've lost 20 in my first month. I did calorie restricting but I'm pretty sure most of it came from giving up salty food, pop & wine (basically lost a ton of water bloat I was holding). I lost 6 inches in my stomach alone. So, it is possible to lose that much when you first get started without starving yourself. Praise the…
  • You can have wine. Just be aware that 5 oz is the typical serving of wine and most glasses of wine are way more than 5 oz. Also, your body is going to burn alcohol before it burns fat. As long as you log and account for the calories though, there is no reason it should affect your weight loss. One thing I found by giving…
  • I'm a mom of 2 (5 and 3), and I work full time. So far I've lost 20 pounds. I work out at home when I can, but the majority of my loss has come from counting calories and logging EVERYTHING. Plus I gave up pop and wine, my two diet killers. I also joined a couple of challenges on MFP that were very motivating. One was a…
