I highly recommend the book "The Wisdom of Menopause" by Christiane Northrup..great education & wish I read it before starting estrogen/progesterone...while it has helped my 'power surges'..there is far more to the transition that is not being addressed.

Welcome all! Yes-much harder to lose weight past a certain age-at least for me & now hormonal crap thrown in not helping matters! But I refuse to eat like a brid & not enjoy my food..I work out to basically maintain right now so at least its something.

I hear ya mamabear! I slept thru my run this AM..waking at 2a-5a every dang Sunday does NOT help for getting up at 6a... But when I do manage to workout early-I have SO much more energy the rest of the day. Hope you find something that helps!

Thanks all-finally did go back to sleep after a bunch of water & Gatorade & feel much better. I ws drinking water last night but not enough & I think it was the dang shots we were doing that did me in..:devil: Now to see what I can scrounge up to eat? Pickles maybe? :wink:

The irregular periods is how my peri menopause began 2 years ago(after being calendar clockwork every month since 12!) then the mood swings now the mini hot flashes & weight gain.(and more cranky!)
