Check out the IF group here on MFP. It has a FAQ list that will help you. I personally do lean gains but end up fasting and feeding between a 16 x 8 to 20 x 4. I do work out everyday but my goal is to get abs. I've gotten great results so far. My BF% is dropping.

Just an FYI to anyone who is interested... MFP has a group on here called Intermittent Fasting. There are different styles of IF too. The one I do is called lean gains. It's where you fast for 16 hours and then have an 8 hour feed window. Feel free to look up the group and check out the FAQ.

I've been doing a cut (calorie deficit) right now. So, I do count my calories still. I am 3.5 lbs away for my goal in which I will switch over to my maintenance. In my opinion, this will be the real test for IF. I've heard a lot of other people say the same thing about not even knowing they were doing IF, because they…

Was this posting in a low carb forum? Let me check... No, okay good. Honest answer time. 50 grams of carbs a day? Pshh.. That's too low in my opinion. Your body needs carbs for energy. Believe me, you can lose weight without doing the unhealthy low carb diet. Whole grains are fine to eat. You can check my diary out but I…

Good. I didn't feel like reading tonight that my protein intake should be lowered. I consume 1 to 1.5 grams of protein a day per lb my body weight. I have been doing IF for the past 2 weeks now. I fast and feed anywhere from 16 x 8 to 20 x 4. My body has been responding better with IF than 6 small meals. I am leaning out…

That's legit. And I've heard the same. All supplements help with that mental motivation too.

How much did you pay? I've taken some before. It's not going to hurt. Probably has caffeine too, which I always enjoy. It's a supplement that will help but your diet and calorie intake is what gets the results.

I'm in the US so I did not see it but I have been hearing multiple people talk about it. If anyone has a link to stream or download it online, please post. Much appreciated.

The current whey protein I'm using may just be my favorite. Dymatize ISO-100 Calories 106 Total Fat 0g Cholesterol 0mg Total Carbohydrate 1g Sugars 0g Protein 25g .. Good luck finding better macros than that. Buying a larger quantity is cheaper but lately I've been buying the smaller bottles and re-copping with a different…

Plug that info in to your diet profile on MFP. It will calculate for you. You can select how much weight you want to lose, probably 1lb a week. Then when you add your workout in, you will have some more calories to play with. MFP is going to lower all of your current ratios but you should see results. Post after with what…

Do you have any specific examples of something you thought did not look right?

Before I was going to answer your question, I took a look at your diary and saw this past week was blank so hopefully you are looking to get back on the right track today. I could not help but notice that your calories and macros are off if you are trying to lose weight. I saw: 2,300 calories- 329 carb 109 fat 109 protein.…

Fasting is not a fad. It's been around for thousands of years.

I read that article too. It's almost contradicting the way he words it. Remember: consuming calories = breaking fast whey protein - at least 100 calories, last I checked. .. You don't have to train fasted but it is highly recommended as I'm sure you already know.
-
I take BCAAs. You know if you take whey protein pre workout- that counts as breaking your fast.

I just finished my 2nd week of intermittent fasting. It's usually lean gains, 16 x 8 but I let it vary up to 20 x 4. As a former 6 small meals kind of guy (yes, I also had the time), I have been getting better results from IF. Keep in mind, I workout everyday and train fasted. I also follow the abs bullseye diet which…

Please see the IF/leangains group. They have a FAQ list for people who are interested. Short answer: Leangains is a 16 hour fast by 8 hour feed window. 0 calories should be consumed during your fast.

Not true. Turkey bacon is a good source of protein. The kind I buy, Smoked Sliced Turkey Bacon has 40 calories per slice, 1.5 g fat, 0 saturated fat, 1 g carb, and 6 g protein. Those are some great macro ratios if you ask me.

Yeah, you really have 3 options. Cut, maintain, & bulk. First you determine how many net calories you need to maintain your weight. MFP does this for you. Generally, for a cut you decrease 500 net cal per day. 500 cal x 7 days = 3500 cal deficit; you lose a pound. Same principal with bulking. If you ate 500 cal per day…

If those are your symptoms I simply would not recommend intermittent fasting for you. If your not able to make it even one day, everyday is not in your future. It sounds almost like your borderline having a seizure, which is crazy. I thought it could be your diet but I looked ar your diary and it seemed legit. You probably…

"In weight training, it is recommended that beginners or untrained participants only perform one exercise per muscle group during a workout session. Overtraining deconditioned muscles can lead to extreme soreness or injury. Those individuals who are advanced in weight training can incorporate more intensive training…

I just finished a bottle of oxy-elite today. It's a thermogenic fat loss supplement. I lost 17lbs during the course of taking 1 bottle, 90 pills. Granted I worked out everyday and ate clean as hell (see my diary), that stuff works for me. Every summer I do a cut and take a bottle of some thermogenic supplement. In the past…

that's kinda bogus man. sounds like she is over you but your not over her. drop it like it's hot and don't risk someone new for something that will never be. just my opinion but

I agree. I have 3 scoops of Dymatize Iso 100 whey a day (24g protein, 0 fat, 0 carbs, 0 cholesterol.) Some people may say that is too much whey but I say...

Here are some of my favorite low fat protein options: egg whites grilled chicken turkey bacon, 94% fat free lean beef, 96% fat free plain non-fat greek yogurt fat free cheese slices natural peanut butter (reduced fat - up to you) Feel free to stalk my diary. I average over 200 grams of protein a day with about 45 grams of…

Yeah, any cardio machine really. It should be able to tell you how many calories you are burning too. Then you can plug that info into MFP so you can get an idea of what sort of net calorie #'s will be needed to meet your goal.
