  • I count them, but I just have 'mixed veges' saved in my recipes. I just added all the veges I usually throw together when I cook, and set it in cup portions; that way it's no big effort or drama to add them, I'm not ignoring the fact they do count as calories but I can raise or lower the amount (1/2, 3/4 cups etc)…
  • I know others have said it; but thank you for posting this! It's so valuable to actually SEE the difference of low cal/cardio only dieting as opposed to eating better/cardio+strength training on the same person! And to actually have those comparison pics so you can see what the differences are, clear as day. There's too…
  • I'm not an expert so don't quote me on it lol, but I've heard it's actually good to do short bursts of intense excersize then slow down for a bit, then intense again then slow. Gives better results; so I don't think it's so bad if you need to slow down for a couple minutes during a run!
  • Maybe he shouldn't tell them. What little brats they're being, not caring about his mothers job; maybe he needs to learn a little life lesson. He's been an incredibly decent neighbor handling it as he has, and it sounds like the teens couldn't give a toss. :\ Then again, if they don't get into the navy they may wind up…
  • LOL genius strategy, next time someone brings chocolate into work I'm going to budget it, have a piece then SPREAD THE WORD!
  • Ahh I have this problem too. I prefer to drink my wine out of a bucket. :drinker:
  • I've had that; some days its not enough and I have to be careful to limit myself, others I'm battling to fill the cals as I'm just not hungry! You'll probably have a few veterans on here that can post more/better ideas than mine lol. But maybe try out a new recipe? Might get you interested and excited for your lunch/dinner…
  • Lol yuuup, just gonna sit and watch this one. Troll?
  • All about the mindset! I've struggled for years but finally I'm looking at healthy diet and excersize the right way. With patience. Keep trying to change your attitude when you get annoyed with yourself for 'not doing enough', it might help if you work on accepting that it's going to take time to reach your goals. We're…
  • It's all well and good to say "don't get offended, dont let ads dictate how you feel, dont let the media teach you how to live" rah rah. But I get why it annoys the OP! You have to think about how these images affect society as a whole on a subconscious level. It sets the 'normal' bar, and when you have kids and…
  • Isn't that supposed to be one of the great things about life? You can love something, succeed at it but eventually want more? It's what pushes you to try and discover new things no matter what stage of life you're at, and to always seek new experiences. At least that's the way I like to think of it =\
  • Sounds like they're getting defensive because they haven't done anything in their lives lately to challenge/better themselves. People who are bitter and unhappy with life are often the first ones to try and cut you down; because if you can't do it, it means they're ok in their rut! It's sad. I think women are particularly…
  • Thank you!! I've had so many people lately tell me they want to do lite n easy and have prepackaged meals cause its an excellent diet and totally works..blah blah blah. But they're expensive and lazy! How can you possibly maintain that sort of eating plan forever? And who wants to take their prepackaged frozen meal to a…
  • ^^^ agreed actually. :) I found when I was just starting out and really struggling with the idea I couldn't eat heaps of the bad stuff anymore, telling myself 'its not forever, not like I can never eat a whole bag of Doritos again, just not now." took the pressure out of the equation. Of course the more I got used to my…
  • So glad you said this!!! ^^ when I read your first comment I felt so sad, you deserve better than an a-hole who is so insensitive! He can enjoy living with his regrets now lol
  • I heard you can make your own bio-fuel that's just as good as regular fuel from banana mashed with oats.
  • Haha I love this, skinny doesn't = equal fit sweetie! How rude are people when they intentionally try to put you in your 'place.' a win for all us bigger gals for sure ;)
  • Hahahaha that's awesome I bet you were beaming at work all day! But was your daughter proud or pissed that you stole her clothes lol ;D
  • Also think it helps if you go into it with the right positive attitude. If you cook up some veges and go into it with a 'yuck, this is gross, sooo don't want to eat this crud.' attitude, it's gonna be a lot harder. If you prepare them, cook them yourself or even try a new recipe, and you're really open minded to giving it…
  • Have you told these people you've been eating healthy/working out at all? Sometimes people notice but don't say anything if you havent specifically mentioned it; they worry you might be offended if they bring up your weight, and if they were to say "have you lost weight?" when you hadn't been, it could cause an awkward…
  • The more you eat them and learn to cook with them you start to get a taste for them. Just remember you need to eat them! No matter what! I have a friend who's the same; anti-vege; try chopping them finely and mix them in with your other food (ie chicken mince or something.) I buy kikkomans honey and soy sauce, it's 40 cals…
  • Personally I can see the difference-congratulations :) and you should take it as a great step forward that you feel stronger and have better endurance. Second time around you'll probably find you can push yourself a bit more, and like everyone's said definitely take lots of measurements; you'll see the changes!
  • You always see the difference in the face don't you. The before and after pics look like totally different people! Such a good idea to do comparisons :)
  • Wow!!! I'm close to your starting weight at the moment; or I was when I started. How long did it take you? No wonder your sister is so proud of you! :)
  • First of all don't feel ashamed! You're battling a difficult problem on top of trying to lose weight, and practically everyone on this site knows about the on again-off again roller coaster of gain-lose-gain again! =\ I don't know if this will help you, but when I was going through that 'being motivated for a few days then…
  • OMG YES!! He is one sexy sexy man. I just realised today I'm going to be 25 in July this year; and I'm recently single (among many problems we had, one was that he had an issue with my weight; I'm not obese, I'm overweight, but he really made me feel like a worthless, horrible whale-person. I cant believe I let him make me…
  • Ok cool, I'll look into that. Thanks guys! :)
  • Omg you look fantastic!! Great inspiration considering I mostly do walking; I totally enjoy it :)
  • Wow what a great result! And it's good you're not crash dieting, trying to drop weight faster than is natural is a dangerous game; I've done dangerously under-cal fad diets and yeah, super quick results, but as soon as you try eating normal food again your brain 'clicks' and you binge eat like crazy! (or at least I did…
