  • What a wonderful accomplishment! I wish you every success with your maintenance. We are all proud of you (ok and maybe a bit jealous too) and hope you will keep us informed throughout your maintenance.
  • That sure feels good, doesn't it! Keep up the good work!
  • Very well put!!
  • My daughter did this and day one was rough. Then, day 2 was REALLY tough but day 3, it started getting a bit easier. Just don't give up - keep going and doing as much as you can. Good luck!
  • At my current weight of 205 lbs, I am at 1440 but I take that number as my maximum. I try to keep my calories over 1200 and under the 1440 as much as possible. I am not able to do much exercise but, when I do, I generally eat back part or all of those calories. I`ve lost 41 pounds in 4 months and I am happy with that rate…
  • Perhaps it was overcooked? To make mine, I just cut it in half lengthwise and put it cut side down on a cookie sheet, put it in the oven at 350 for about 35 to 40 minutes. Just until it is tender enough so that a fork can pierce the shell. Oops, almost forgot - home food over fast food!
  • I noticed a change in the way my clothes fit when I was down about 30 pounds. At 35 lb lost, I needed to get some pants that didn't fall down all the time and was able to fit into a smaller size jeans than I have worn in years. It feels great! I think that my original size clothing had probably gotten fairly tight on me…
  • I don't have a smart phone but I do have an older 3G iPod. The MFP app works on it very well and will sync to the website whenever I get a wifi connection. I have several other apps where I can look up calorie counts for foods at numerous restaurants and fast food outlets. You can get free wifi at many places now. When I…
  • My question is: Why do you weigh yourself before you go to bed? That is not a very accurate measure at the best of times due to the amounts you have taken in and eliminated during the day. Just weigh once a day, first thing in the morning and forget about it the rest of the day.
  • LMAO ...... ROFLMAO...... PIMPL
  • This is interesting. I have always stored mine leaning up against the wall. I'll have to try leaving it on the floor. I do know that some scales have a slight memory in them. If your weight does not change by at least 1 pound, it will give you the same reading as you last had. I always put my scale down and step on it…
  • I weigh myself daily first thing in the morning. I used to post every time I dropped weight even if it was just a little. I have decided to pick one day a week to enter my weight into MFP. I like to watch my daily weight as I can easily tell if I'm having any water retention problems. I don't see any point in weighing more…
  • I did a search on Pinterest for Pineapple Crockpot Chicken and there were quite a few that came up. The one that seems to be the closest to the original poster's recipe is this one: http://pinterest.com/pin/156500155771291005/ The only difference is that it calls for a can of pineapple chunks rather than just the juice.…
  • Interesting. Do keep us posted! :flowerforyou:
  • One big hint that I was told years ago is - when dieting or on a budget, shop only the outside perimeter of the grocery store. That is where all the fresh fruit & veggies are, the meats, bread and dairy sections. The only exception to that is if you are able to make your own breads, then you need to go down that baking…
  • It is possible to fix incorrect entries. Just be sure that you are correcting the right item. Make sure the entire container size is the same etc. There are products that have the same name in different countries. For example, Pilsbury. In Canada, the container (box) might be 500 grams and in the US it may be 16 ounces.…
  • Sounds very interesting. I would also like some clarification regarding the size of can of beans to use.
  • Mine must hold the memory too as I've also noticed being EXACTLY the same weight for up to 12 days in a row before it suddenly drops by a pound. I'm going to try your re-set trick tomorrow to see what happens. Thanks for that!
  • I have used it in place of part of the ground beef in chilli, meat sauce for spaghetti or in soups. It pretty much takes on the flavor of whatever else it is being cooked with. I have never tried using it by itself, only as a way to extend the ground beef or ground chicken in recipes.
  • I would caution you about going on Atkins. While it may be true that the weight comes off fast, there is a price to pay. Unfortunately, the price I paid was with damage to my heart. I started with My Fitness Pal on June 13th this year (2012). In the 3.5 months that I have just been watching my calories, I have lost 38…
  • Adding dairy products to your diet while cutting calories can help you lose more weight than if you simply eat less, the February 2004 "Obesity Research" reports. In the study, a group of 32 obese volunteers were assigned to a low-calorie diet that either did or did not contain three servings of low-fat dairy products,…
  • Medicine Hat Alberta here! We've been loving a wonderful "Indian Summer" for the past week - even had to run the A/C in the house and car a couple of days in a row. Question: How come the people from SK don't tell us where in SK??
  • I get the "don't eat at night" thing all the time too. I try to make sure that I eat a minimum of 1200 calories a day and most days I have no problem eating those calories and more. However, there are those days when I wake up late or whatever and I don't get all of my calories in before 9pm. I have intentionally gone and…
  • I`m not sure how true it is but, I have heard somewhere that plateaus can happen when you reach a weight that your body recognizes from your past. For example - I weighed 221 for a long time (several years) and when I reached that mark in my weight loss, I plateaued for almost 2 weeks. I`m looking next toward a number of…
  • I have really upped my water intake since starting to monitor what I am eating. I still struggle some days to get my water in but I am doing better. I bought a Rubbermaid drink bottle that is 20oz/600ml in size and that has helped a lot. My goal for the day is 5 of those full or 100 oz. I know you get liquid from other…
  • I have found that the people who see me every day take longer to notice any change. It's the ones who I see only occasionally that will usually notice and comment.
  • One thing I see is that you have not been logging your foods daily. You seem to have a lot of missing days between July 1 and now. I have found that I need to log everything, every day, good or bad. I also saw there were days when your calorie counts were very low, which can actually stall weight loss. Speaking for myself,…
  • I totally agree with all of the already mentioned words, especially axe for ask! Sometimes written words can make me a bit crazy. Such as when people don't write the correct word for the application - confusing "your" (meaning belongs to someone) and "you're" which is a contraction of the words "you are". Another set is -…
  • Undigested grains in the meat?? You gotta be pulling my leg! I have not made any food off limits. If I truly want it, I can have it so long as it fits my daily calorie goals. I have had a few days when I went over on my calories but that's only human. I still eat red meat, potatoes, pasta, nuts etc but in smaller portions…
  • I don`t believe that any vegetable is bad. Some people get funny ideas about stuff. I do know that, if you feed a baby too many carrots, their little noses will turn orange....
