I can see the difference already. Can't wait to see your beautiful back in something backless. You inspire me.

I like sweet potatoes cooked in the microwave ( whole ) for 5-6 minutes. I think the sugar content makes them cook faster. I serve it with a dollop of fat free sour cream. This tastes delicious. The grocery store has the prewashed and wrapped in plastic ones also.

Our stories are nearly the same. 65 yr old woman, Lost 16 lbs last year with MFP. Now I weigh and plan to go from 224 to 160. This was a great plan and used it a lot last year. Here we go again...yeehaw! 161.

Good for you. I also have 115 left to lose. I have lost 12 in 65 days. Very slow but I feel so much better. Actually, this is kind of fun.

I have a starting weight of 240 and i'm 5'2' and 65 years old. My first goal is 160, if or when I achieve that I want to go to 125. Most of my life I was that weight and only gained in the last 20 yrs. I've lost 12 lbs in 2 months. Logging every thing has helped to open my eyes. I hope you can stay with this because sooner…

I started in September and I have 115 to lose to be the 125 that is right for my height. so far I've lost 6 lbs each month and and I feel better. A nutritionist is helping me. I thought I knew a lot about the body and food and medicine. Hah! She has really opened my eyes. This is fun. Kind of a game I play with myself to…

I'd like to be part of your group. You all seem so nice. My goal for November is to lose 10 lbs. That is pretty ambitious because I don't exercise at all and every day I seem to go 100-200 calories over my goal. I plan to attempt a walk (have a pinched nerve in my back) and see how far I can go. I have invited a large…

It sounds like you are describing the symptoms of S.A.D. or seasonal affective disorder. People that have that problem need to spend more time in bright daylight or in full range artificial lighting.

I have diabetes and hypoglycemia and have a hard time staying within my 1440 calories. When you said "shaky" that made me think of my low blood sugar times. I can avoid this if I eat very carefully and eat mid morning and mid afternoon snacks. I try to have a low calorie snack that has a little protein and a little sugar…

I am at day 40 of logging. About 8 lbs lighter. I'm 65 years, 5'2", and started at 240 lbs. The logging and weighing and measuring food has helped a great deal. Now I plan better when I can see how much I've already consumed in a day. Here's the problem, I have a pinched nerve in my back and don't/can't do any exercise.…

I am 5' 2" and started a month ago at 240 lbs. I truly never understood why I gained so much weight until I started logging my food. Sometimes I would eat 3000 calories a day. Now I log every bite and drink. The biggest help is watching the total calories left for the day. I see that and it helps me plan what to have next.…

I have yogurt for a snack. or a half an apple and a tablespoon of peanut butter. or a cheese stick and a couple celery sticks. or a little can of juice, V-8 or pineapple orange. I buy the prepared stuff at the grocery store. It costs more but I think I will pay fewer medical bills if I get in shape and lose this extra 120…

Wow! You are awesome and you look great too. I am so impressed with your progress. I started a month ago and have lost 8 lbs. I am 65 and am unable to exercise. What exercise did you do that had such good results? Thanks for posting, you are inspiring. Angie

My situation is similar to yours. A couple years ago I was diagnosed as diabetic, I am obese at 240 lbs on a 5'2" 65 yr old woman. I haven't take my metformin very seriously, sometimes forgetting to take it for 4-5 days. I am going to a nutritionist for counseling about diabetes and just last week she mentioned that if I…

If you feel bad anyway why don't go ahead and suffer thru a healthy sized meal and suffer thru a walk. That sounds crazy but if you're not enjoying yourself, you could get some work out of the way. I mean to be helpful but this looks too strange. angie

First of all, you're a really good writer. Do you know that? How inspiring. I like how you repeated that you kept on day after day "doing the work". I may be at the beginning of my journey. Afraid to say that because I've failed so many times. It seems to help a lot to be accountable to the computer about what you really…
