I finished C25K this morning. I'm going onto C210K on Monday. I also work out with weights in the gym 40 minutes 6 days a week. That program just started this week. Previously I was doing 20 minutes 4 days a week.

I have completed C25K. I did it in 7 weeks vs 9, because I'm kind of boneheaded and in weeks 1 and 8 I skipped ahead a week. At least there was some symmetry there. I will be doing C210K on Monday.

Yep, neither of those scenarios apply to me.

Ah, and then you might have the woosh effect.

I say go shopping. Different jeans hug you in different spots. Your shape is fine. You're long torsoed (or it looks like it in the photo) and you have to take that into account. I can barely see them, but what you wear can accentuate or hide them.

W8 D2 done. But... When I go out I leave my house, run down a route, when my time is up I turn around and go home. Because I walk the first 5 minutes, I don't do an exact split of the time. I go out for a little less time than I come back. Well, this morning I flipped my times. Not quite awake maybe? I was due to run 28…

Wondering - has anyone piggybacked a C210k on the back of your C25K? I was looking at the plan, and in 6 weeks you go from running half an hour to running a full hour. The mad thing is, the way it's been going, I think I could do that. Has anyone tried? I think it would be amazing to go from struggling to run for a full…

First week down.

Week 8 day 1 done. My cat didn't come with me this time.

Why don't you try HIIRT - high intensity interval resistance training. Basically, between weight lifting sets, instead of sitting there doing nothing, you do 1 minute of HIIT type cardio. Like, a minute of skipping rope or box jumps or throwing a medicine ball, etc etc. The point is to get your heart rate elevated so that…

Week 7 done. My cat came with me today. I didn't even notice he was following me until I'd been running for 5 minutes, or I would have sent him home. He wasn't keen on crossing a bridge I go over, so he had a break in the middle, but he kept up my pace for 16-17 minutes. He was huffing and puffing as bad as I was when I…

Eating clean won't do much. What you need to know is how much you're eating. You have to measure precisely and record it so you can learn what a correct serving size is.

I always think "at least it's not X" and reframe it. Because one pound, no biggie. I also post in a weekly challenge. Then when I want to get down on myself I can see clearly over time there is no question I'm losing.

W7D2 done. Weather didn't cooperate - I lost a pound and a half in sweat!

Good point. You're assuming a steady loss start to finish. It doesn't work that way. As you get smaller it's harder to lose. Some people, when they get close to goal, it takes them 3 years to lose 5 pounds. And maintenance is harder than losing. Give it a shot, but keep closely monitoring, because if you "take a break" for…

Put it off. Don't think "I can't eat that" think "I'll get some later." Just put it off til tomorrow. You'd be amazed how effective that strategy is. Even if you only put it off 5 times out of 10, you'll still be healthier. And each time you do it you'll get better at putting it off.

Form might be wonky, but you're still miles ahead (literally!) of all the people who never run.
-
Oh I forgot to post. W7D1 done. Looking into a C210K now, which madly seems fairly manageable now.
-
I'm going to give these both a shot.

It's not as hard as you think. Take things slowly. Don't radically change everything - you won't last 2 days. Start by adding things - drink more water, eat more fruit. And track religiously for a couple of weeks so you can see what you're really eating and see if there are any trends. It might be the simplest little thing…

Look up "squishy fat and whooshes" - it will explain so much.

W6D3 done Definitely in the home stretch now - no more scheduled walking breaks.

Yeah, it gets easier. Amazing, huh? I'm about to go on a 25 minute run. I'm procrastinating. It's the mental thing. 25 mins? Can I do that? Well, I did 20, so I'd say yes. But I still have to build myself up to it...
