But you don't need to improve cardiovascular fitness to lose weight. Losing weight is a matter of burning more calories than you consume. Walking helps you burn more calories.

I would definitely see your Dr. I get heart palpitations and irregular beat when my potassium is really low.

You only went over by less than 300 calories? If your logging is accurate, that is a fraction of a pound difference and the deficit on the other days will make up for that. Just log it and move on! I did look at your diary. Are you weighing your food on a food scale? If you are not then your diary is not going to be as…

I found this in an abstract from a medical journal: Exercise induces profound changes in the renal haemodynamics and in electrolyte and protein excretion. Effective renal plasma flow is reduced during exercise. The reduction is related to the intensity of exercise and renal blood flow may fall to 25% of the resting value…

We have a home gym and I love it! Treadmill, airdyne bike, elliptical, squat rack, free weights. My husband also has a pull up bar on the ceiling.

My sister took it for about 2 months. She lost about 30 lbs. Then she had to stop taking it and gained 40 lbs back.

I just replied on a post below that I was trying WW after having done MFP for a while. I gained 6 lbs on WW in a month. I did not use my weeklies or my fit points at all, just my dailies. I went to a meeting to see if they could figure it out, but they couldn't. They told me to keep going. The reason I gained weight is…

I tried freestyle and I gained 6 lbs. I only used my daily points, never my weekly points or my fit points. Since I was doing the online version only, I went to a meeting to show my diary to someone there and they could not understand why I was not losing weight. I knew why - free point foods still have calories. I can eat…

"It is a more accurate count of my calories than using measuring cups or eyeballing it."

When I first started I did Leslie Sansone walking videos and then moved on to the Jessica Smith walking videos.

Like others has said, it does nothing for weight loss. Also, it can have some adverse interactions with some medications, and can lower your potassium . I was pleased last week when Good Morning America ran a segment saying that the claims about ACV have not been proven and it is "not a magical elixir".

In ! I aim for about 18K steps each day. Harder in the summer when I am not working, though.

Those do not look huge to me! I have big calves. My Mother in Law actually told me my calves were huge when we were visiting a few weeks ago. :o I have to buy wide fit boots.

I am 46 and have lost 45 lbs fairly easily. I am lightly active, eat 1,300 calories plus 1/2 my exercise calories ( I only record intentional exercise from my Fitbit.) I walk/jog 45 min/4x per week and do a bit of resistance training. I lose around 1 - 1 1/2 lbs a week. I am not finding it any harder to lose weight now…

I always portion out leftovers before I put them in the fridge or freezer.

My Dr. and I set a goal weight of 160 for now. For my height that is still in the overweight range. He is not a fan of the BMI chart and explained that at 160 we would see how I felt and what my blood work/vitals looked like.

When I make a very conscious effort to eat "clean" I lose weight. When I eat foods that are not prepackaged or prepared, but fresh fruits, veggies, and protein such as chicken breast I am able to measure my intake more accurately. It is so much easier to be accurate when there are less ingredients and single foods.

Like others have said, Alopecia is an autoimmune disease and different from hair thinning that come from inadequate nutrition. Alopecia is a medical diagnosis - what did your Dr. say about treatments? It cannot be cured, but there are ways to treat it, like steroid injections. Alopecia shares the genetic risk factors of…

I am 46. I have lost 45 lbs so far with a goal of 1200 calories. I eat back about 1/2 of my exercise calories so I average 1400 calories a day.

She keeps repeating that it is UNcooked rice. I am wondering if it is a language issue, especially with the prefix 'un' for the OP? I am thinking that the OP's first language is not english. I may be wrong, and I apologize if I am and appear insensitive, but that would make sense with what I saw in the calorie count of…

One of the things that is big in the education world right now is growth mindset. A major point is that mistakes are there to help us learn. What is the takeaway from this mistake that you can learn from? Use that to help you grow. Another huge piece is the power of YET. Adding yet to the end of sentences can be pretty…

Fitnessblender is free and there are many different types of workouts. You can choose the length of time, the difficulty, and the equipment you want to use as well as the area of your body you want to work on.

I would highly suggest she still see a Dr. I passed about 10 stones before I decided to get an answer and wound up being wheeled into emergency kidney surgery straight from the ultrasound because my kidney was 90% blocked with stones. My 9inch scar is a reminder to not try to do things on my own. My gal bladder started…

I gained weight on the pill, and have lost 45 lbs successfully and fairly easily on the pill (at 46 years old). It was not the pill that caused me to gain weight, it was my overeating that caused me to gain weight.

One of the things I do when I know I am stress eating or going to stress eat is to log what I am planning on eating BEFORE I eat it. It is amazing how I snap out of it when I see the numbers added on to my log! I also have found that when I exercise I stress eat less. Exercising makes me feel better and eases my stress.

Why take a water pill if it will right itself by drinking more water and getting back on track? Over the counter water pills are not regulated by the FDA. There's no way of knowing if the ingredients listed on the box are really what's in the pills or how much of each ingredient they contain. They could even interact badly…

Your metabolism won't "shut down". If your metabolism shuts down you die! Also, a month is not "too long". OP, I would start with your logging. Make sure you are choosing accurate entries, not generic entries.
