Wow looks like we have super similar goals. I'm 26, and looking to go from 145 to 125-130. I'm 5'3" and also veggie. Dont think that I'll be sticking to 1200 calories a day though as I get so hungry after exercise! Where do you live?

I'm from east London, back after a long long time away and having put on too much weight.... Would love some London pals.

Where in east London are you? I run pretty slowly too...:) I've only just started and want to get into a routine

I'm 23. Check out my profile, and add me if you like.

I think the stingy thing helps me as well. It doesn't just have to be gym membership. For example, if you buy a new pair of running shoes, sign up to a 5k at the same time, and the running shoes then become for that purpose. Having a specific date makes you more focussed to achieve the goal by then. Also realising that…

Anything that gets me away from electronic items and cars and people :/ Top faves: 1. Jacuzzi, sauna & steam room in the gym. 2. In my room, all electronic stuff turned off, scented candles lit, doing girly things like my nails. 3. Going for a gentle stroll in the countryside.

Isn't that kind of a complaint in itself ;)

My period. Nuff said.

It is possible that if you are working really hard then the excess weight is as a result of the muscles retaining water. When you perform strenuous exercises that your body is not accustomed to it will create what are known as "micro tears;" the body then works to repair these tears, and in the process you will get…

To prove to myself I can do it.

I was going to say bread, but then I saw a post saying eggs..... and I'd definitely have to say eggs as a veggie, with them being my biggest source of protein.

anyone? :(

I have absolutely no experience in this matter as I am the opposite of you. But when I want to better "fill out" a dress that hangs a little too loose around my bust I wear a push up bra. Maybe the opposite could work for you? 4 inches is a lot to lose from a specific area before October. Have you tried a minimising bra?

1. Stir fry vegetables with soy sauce, vinegar, lime juice, chillies, ginger, garlic, nutmeg, and lime leaves for flavour. I add a spoon of peanut butter or an egg for protein. 2. 2 egg omelette with mushrooms and onions. 3. Chickpea salad, with tomatoes, cucumber, chillies and lemon juice. 4. If I'm feeling lazy: Quorn…

Nope, but then I rarely wear make up anyway, I don't feel like it can be good for your skin. Most people wouldn't dream of wearing workout gear that wasn't climalite or similar, so why would you wear make up that doesn't let your skin breathe. I don't wear mascara/lip gloss but they don't feel like they would be as…

Hey, I have a similar body shape to you. Are those pics recent? I would focus on your thighs and butt. My stomach is a problem area too, but honestly it requires so much hard work and dedication, and only comes out everyone in a while when I'm in a bikini, so I focus on my butt and thighs, which I can show off all year…

Everyone has different goals, and you should all be proud of them, no matter how small. The great thing about MFP is that everyone acknowledges this, and will be super encouraging. Way to go :-)

Well supposedly cross country skiers are the athletes who are the fittest, so if your aim is to get fit then I'd say this is best. Running and swimming are close behind. The advantage of running is it's just you and the road, no gym memberships, no special equipment, you can do it anywhere, all you need is a pair of good…

Body brush the culprit areas as often as you can. It supposedly stimulates those areas to get more blood flowing there, and so preventing further cellulite deposits. I *think* it's helped me, but might just be wishful thinking. Exfoliates the skin though, which is good if you wear skinny jeans, cos the backs of your thighs…

Hey, Thanks for all the replies. @ Brian Sharpe, I currently spend about 50% of my time on each, and was just wondering whether it would be better to shift my focus more to cardio, for my current goal, which is to lose about 4kg. Because I currently have quite a high body fat percentage, and a large motivation for building…

Dumpster diving! This is actually a serious suggestion : http://www.ranprieur.com/misc/dumpster.html http://matadornetwork.com/bnt/dumpster-diving-the-easiest-way-to-find-free-food/ Also, I go to my local sainsburys at the end of the day, they used to have whole loaves of taste the difference bread reduced to 10p. You can…

Hey everyone, Thanks for the tip on a bag of lentils. I will definitely be packing this now. :) I'm going to be in Europe, so tummy shouldn't be a problem, but reading food labels and trying to figure out what's what can be a bit difficult sometimes! Thanks

Also, if you're not a fan of climbing because you're afraid of falling, why don't you try bouldering/traversing. This is essentially climbing without ropes, but you climb very low walls, (no taller than 3m usually,) and the aim is to move from side to side, not upwards. I am very weak in my upper body, but as others have…

If you like belly dancing, have you ever tried pole dancing classes? Although the dancing has a sleazy reputation, it really doesn't have to be, check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCEyqxkqZww&feature=relmfu I'm not saying you're gonna be dancing like this anytime soon, but it sure it fun to try, it's great for…

Hey Cheryl, This sounds interesting, but I don't quite get what you mean, could you maybe clarify, or open your diary so I could see how you've done it please? Hope it's going well!

Yeah, due to working out including a swim 3 times a week, (every alternate day during the week,) I got fed up with doing anything to my hair, so first I cut it all off to a very short bob, and kept up looking after it for a long time, and now it's long again, I just have it tied up all the time during the week now. Makes…

Have you tried Zumba classes? Or dvds?

Love mushrooms, I used to hate them! Go running or swimming, just because I want to. Lift weights, freeweights that too!

Diet sodas really have no positive nutritional value, and even though they may or not be "bad," I have certainly never seen any evidence saying they are "good." I used to drink lots of diet coke, up to a litre a day. And the main reason for me giving it up was because I felt like it had desensitised me to sweetness. This…
