  • I don't know why I can eat dairy, but cannot drink milk, but that is the case.
  • I'm guessing you don't want to hear about the gluten free cookie they are pushing this year?
  • I sure wish I had good answers for you, but I don't. All I have is my experience. I fought endo for many years, through pain and infertility and multiple surgeries. After my second child, I decided that between the PCOS and Endo, I had had enough and had all the girly bits removed. Thankfully, the pain is gone. Not so…
  • I am right her with you! I feel like since i can't go work out, why not sit around and have a coke and a pizza? What difference is it going to make? You are right though, keep on keeping on. We will get better and back on track. A false start is better than no start, right? A couple of those might lead to a real start :)
  • So miss that! Greek Pushing Daisies Eureka (kinda jumped the shark though) La Femme Nikita (with Peta Wilson, not the new one) The Closer (Already!)
  • Guilty of that one.
  • Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback. I have started keeping oranges and apples on the counters, and when my dad gets his late night cravings, I fix us each one of those instead of his 4 PB&Js or cake or ice cream. I can feel the boat starting to turn, but it is a huge and unwieldy beast.
  • It was kind of a long decline. I had the band put in, lost about 80 pounds, and then got pregnant. I think that during the pregnancy, the band shifted somehow. The doctor who finally took it out said that it was deeply eroded. When I went in for the barium swallow, none of it went through. I had reached a point where I was…
  • I had one yesterday. My sister is in town for the weekend, and all "the girls" went out for Mexican food. We ordered queso, and I took one bite and decided it wasn't worth blowing my day over. That felt really good!
  • I know the feeling. I am my own worst enemy too. I think a lot of it is psychological. I don't know about you, but I have turned to food for comfort for so long, I don't really know how to cope with things without it. I started seeing a therapist who is working with me specifically on better choices to break this food…
  • I did have a lap-band, but due to unfortunate complications, had to have it removed in January. I am trying to lose now the weight I gained after that (and before that, actually). Congratulations on your loss!
  • I SO hear ya! I am in a situation where my husband, kids, and I share a home with my parents. I am struggling to cook healthier foods, provide better snack options, and prepare more food at home instead of running to a drive through. I push myself to get out and work out at least three times a week, which is very contrary…
  • Binge eating and emotional eating are psychological problems. I am working on those myself. I would recommed a good therapist who specializes in food related issues.
  • That makes sense. It might also make you want to get what you need and get out, instead of lingering over crap that you want but know you don't need...
  • I haven't looked, but I am under no illusions that fried mac and cheese is good for me
  • Are you related to Paula Deen? My husband swears he will leave me for her.
  • eyes and attitude
  • Therein lies the key... Not every day.
  • Why not buy the wing pieces at the store, coat them in lemon pepper seasoning, and bake them. I am sure a lot of hte calories come from the frying/oil.
  • I'm not Tony, but I thought I might throw in my $0.02. I also have (or had - complete hysterectomy) PCOS, and all my weight is in my abdomen. Losing 50 lbs in a summer is amazing, and you should be proud of your accomplishment. Most of the doctors I have seen in relation to the endocrine problems associated with PCOS, such…
  • Good luck! I had Lap-Band surgery in 2005 and ended up with problems, and had it removed in January this year. My Dr. did a gastric plication, which is very similar to the gastric sleeve. It won't force you to eat foods that are good for you, but will limit portions. I wish you the very best!
  • This is my diet. Maybe why I am having so much trouble :drinker:
  • No matter how big your problems are today, in a year you probably won't even remember what they are.
  • I guess this is true, but it is frustrating. I don't like that my yoga class is populated by the thin people in nice looking yoga pants and a sports bra, and I spend the whole time trying not to flash anybody in my shorts and T-shirt.
  • You are not alone. I will never forget the day that I took my daughter to Victoria's Secret to look for some panties and bras, and as I was searching the racks, some petite young lady came up to me and said, "Can I help you ma'am?" I just answered that I was looking for a particular bra, and before I had a chance to…
  • You shouldn't feel you have to retract your statement; we all know that fast food is bad for us. Yet I am probably one of the worst about eating it. I don't generally eat it at home, but I have not been home except for a few days in the last month. When faced with the fast food option or not eating at all, I will usually…
  • Chalk it up to experience and move on. You can't take back what you have done, so don't dwell on it. Have a good dinner tonight, lots of protein, and drink lots of water. Then throw away the junk food. Somebody else said it, and I agree - if you are in a binge mode, chances are you aren't suddenly going to stop feeling…
  • This is a great tip, and something I tried for a long time. Unfortunately, I found that when I took the food home, I sat down and ate it as soon as I got there, accomplishing nothing by setting it aside. I have started boxing the food up, then just leaving it on the table at the restaurant. Out of sight, out of mind. BTW,…
  • But they put the frozen fruit and veggies right across from the cookies! I try really hard to shop only the "outside" rim of the store so I avoid processed and prepackaged foods, but they put those stupid things right next to the stuff I need, like toilet paper. No excuses, I know, but the marketers that design the grocery…
  • Protein, protein, protein! Lots of water. I had lap band surgery in 2005 and saw the bottomside of 200 for the first time in years about 8 months later. I immediately got pregnant, and that was the beginning of my problems. I ended up having it removed in January this year and hit 300 lbs this summer. It is depressing, but…
