I have a hard time eating at 5am before I go to the gym so I have started making a protien shake and drinking it on the way...I don't use it as a meal replacement, it is just an extra boost so I am not working out on an empty stomach :)

If you do a forum search on shin splints you will find a lot of great links to stretches you can do for your shins...I had horrible pain when I first started and then started stretching after my warm up before the run and then again when I was all done and I have no pain anymore...took about a week for the soreness to go…

I was just thinking the same thing...starving today!! But I had a horrible weekend with way too many calories so I think that this is my weekend coming back to haunt me as my body is wanting the extra calories again!! Gonna try and power through it though!

I have never been able to just sit and enjoy my meal...I am a chronic multitasker!!! I am always on the computer or watching TV or doing housework while I am eating...who has time to just sit and eat for 20 minutes?? I have tried to just eat but I have a hard time doing it unless we are sitting down to family…

I'm in...this fits nicely into my plank challenge for an extra boost this week!

I was just thinking while I was looking at my home page that I didn't understand why some people don't open up thier diary...mine is open and I log everyday...whether I am cheating that day or not!! Feel free to add me! CJ

I have had 2 c-sections and have had no problems getting back to a flat stomach when I put a little effort in
-
I had my favorite cheat meal last night...home made chicken fried rice...I watched how much oil that I added and made sure not to have more than a cup (and I didnt even have my favorite spring rolls with it)...but I felt so horribly bloated when I was done! Needless to say I will not be having that again for a while!! I am…

I tend to watch my burn vs intake all day...I try to stay at a 500-1000 cal deficit and this has seemed to work for me! Good luck! It took me a couple of weeks to figure out what worked for me...I know that the Body Media program suggests a 1000 cal deficit but some days that is just not feasible.

I have an android and this option is only available when you are on your diary and you scroll until the bottom

I'm 30 something with 3 kids in lots of activities...20lbs by new year is my goal and I log on everyday ...would love to join your group!
-
This is exactly where I started a couple of weeks ago...I have tried to rush it in the past but it never stays off!! Trying to lose 30 lbs in two months is unrealistic and unhealthy.
-
I've been working on C25K and I don't want to give that up! But I do want to add more to my workouts.
-
I did this same thing last year...got within 9 lbs of goal and then gained everything back plus 10 lbs....so frustrating!!!
-
0.5-1.5 lbs per week is normal / average weightloss that you should aim for...anything more than that, especially at your current weight, is not healthy.
-
Wow!! That's amazing!!!
-
You are likely not eating enough...you should be eating at least around 1200 cal per day...more with exercise...anything much less than this is unhealthy and yes, your body will go into starvation mode.
-
I started c25k last week and tomorrow will be week 2 day 3 for me! I was a runner when I was younger, but always a sprinter...never competed in more than 200meter...I am enjoying building up my endurance!! Feel free to add me...the more the merrier we can all encourage eachother!!! As for eating I usually have a yogurt…

The first couple days are the hardest...for me if I can get to day 5 by sticking to three meals and two healthy snacks with LOTS of water, then after that the food obsession starts to wear off as my body is accostomed to eating normal again and not pigging out. Good luck!!
-
Good luck on your journey! Sounds like you have had several hurdels to overcome!!! But you are doing great...you might not have lost everything you wanted to in the past year...but you did lose a lot!!! Great job so far!!
-
Good luck on your climb tomorrow!!!
-
I was like this at first as well...the first 3-5 days were tough!! I am a chronic overeater...zero impulse control!!! I have learned to have healthy snacks every couple of hours to help keep me full and I make sure to measure everything out b/c if i didn't instead of eating 10-15 baby carrots (which is a serving size) I…

Thanks for the advice...I can see that now as I look back at yesterday and notice that it did adjust again also I noticed it change again as I uploaded the info from the body bugg!! Having the two linked is new to me as my model didn't have this function until recently...totally excited about the update but was seriously…

I went through something similar was always between 130-145 then I was the same way...didn't seem to matter what I did my body wanted to stay at 145 so I stopped working so hard...I slowly watched my weight climb but thought that I would level off and not have to worry about it...I watched it climb to 160 before I could no…

I also work out at 5am and usually only have about an hour to do so. I usually rotate my days...one day elliptical for 65 minutes and the next strength training for 20 and tredmill for 35-40 minutes...it works for me!! 5 am came really early the first few days but then after the first week I was able to hop out of bed and…

When did you start back on your diet and exercise plan...It's been almost two weeks for me (I was in a similar situation of being at/near goal then slipping) and I am just now seeing the scale move...don't get discouraged!!! You just have to remeber that at the end of the day you need to have a calorie deficit...eat less…
-
This is totally nornal...I always gain for at least one week, sometimes two when I increase my workouts especially when adding strength training. Don't give up!!!
-
Dang...I must be exercising wrong b/c when I am done I am usually super hungry!!! My best way to beat the hunger pangs is mini meals every couple of hours...I only have one normal size meal a day...at dinner!
-
Thanks for the advise...guess its time to reactivate my body bugg to continue on this journey!

I am not exactly new to MFP but have only logged from my phone in the past...I had no idea the web site offered so much community support! I am looking for some new supportive friends as well! I am highly motivated to lose these last few lbs and would love to connect with other mortivated people as well!
