Thank you for the advice. I ran in my normal shoes today and my calves loosened up around 1/2 mile. I will continue to break them in slowly! I'd like to add you all as friends if that is OK? Thanks

I am able to workout about a couple of hours before I go to bed. It always relaxes me when I shower after my workout.Everyone is different, find what works best for you.

First of all, thank you for your service! Secondly, WTG!!!!!!!!! You are an inspiration. Keep it up and it'll get easier.

Do short strides uphill but it helps me to get up on the balls of my feet. My mom is a marathon runner and she will do hill intervals-she runs up the hill as fast as she can and than walks down. She does this for 20 mins and increases the amount each week. By doing hill intervals once a week you will get better at running.

Just did P90X Ab RipperX. This was the first time that I stuck with it so 349 ab/core.

Count me in!! Have to take the dog to training first and buy new running shoes but will do them when I get home before my run :)

I think you should shout it from the rooftop!! That is amazing! Keep up the good work

I used to only eat oatmeal when I had a hangover, but now I eat it just about every morning before I run. I love it now!!!! I also used to HATE fish. Now I actually crave salmon. I LOVE grilled veggies-eggplant, brussel sprouts, asparagus.....yummmmm  I have started to eat cottage cheese and with a little bit of salt…

<---- Mine is my profile pic. He is a 16 month old Cane Corso that was relinquished to my husband and me. He is 110 lbs of pure muscle and goofy-ness. He is also my running partner.

Hi! *waves back* feel free to add me!

Make sure you have proper running shoes-this is number 1. Go to a running store (in Co we have Boulder Running Company and Runner Roost) and have them watch you run. They will put you in several different shoes to find the best ones for you. I take Advil (not Tylenol-Advil is for muscles/skeletal system) and ice them after…

Your blood pressure is kind of low. Stand up slowly and you should really talk to your doctor about it to make sure that there isn't anything else going on.
-
I'll add you!!
-
Congrats! Check with your doctor, but usually you can keep doing the same exercises you have been doing. Just make sure that you increase you caloric intake (mine was to 2000 when I was pregnant) but also continue to exercise!

Actually beer is a great energy source when you are running, biking, etc. Just be careful that it isn't too hot when you drink right before a race. It can and will cause lactic acid build up and you will be one hurtin' puppy. When my husband was is HS him and his buddies used drink the night before their meets and they…

I used to weigh myself everyday, sometimes twice or more, but now I only do it once a week-usually on Mondays. Try putting the scale in a closet so you can't see it every time you walk by it.
-
Absolutely! Light weights with multiple reps will tone, heavy weights will build muscle.
-
It really sounds like you are gaining muscle and losing fat. Make sure that you stay in you calorie limits during the weekend. I say it is OK to have a "cheat" day once a week but not twice. Right now, don't go by what the scale is saying. Are your clothes fitting better? When I first started out I actually gained even…

I think that you really need to talk to a nutritionist as well as a therapist/doctor. It sounds like you know that you need help, that's why you are asking for it here. It also sounds like a lot of people are worried about you on MFP and they don't even know you! If you truly want to be healthy start with talking to a…

Get in to see a massage therapist if you can. Insurance will usually pay for it. They will also be able to give you stretches to help with your pulled muscle.
-
You really need to make sure that you have the right running shoes. Go to a running store, in Colorado we have Runner's Roost and Boulder Running Co., and have them video tape you running. They will fit you with the proper shoes and it'll make a world of a difference. If you don't have good shoes you will ruin your knees,…

I thing with choke collars (the ones with out the prongs) is that you need to make sure that they are put on correctly. If you have it on the right way, when you pull it and than loosen up, the collar will release. If you have it on the wrong way it will not release. I have a 110 lb cane corso, who is pure muscle, (he was…

One day isn't going to ruin your new eating style. I always give myself one day a week where I cheat and eat what ever I want to. Just make sure that you use portion control.

Count me in!!!! I need to get my miles up for a half marathon in August!!

The thing is that SHE has to want to loose the weight. She isn't going to do so unless it is her decision.

It is probably an anal fissure (sorry TMI, but you asked  ) It sometimes happens when you increase your bowel movements or are straining to have a BM. Streaks of blood (as long as it goes away in short order) is OK. If the blood increases or your begin to have drops in the toilet or in your underwear call your Dr.…

You're gaining muscle!!!! You are losing fat and gaining muscle so in the beginning you will either lose weight or, in yours and my case, gain weight. Don't go by what the scale says, go by what your clothes say. I was stuck at 153lbs for weeks but my clothes fit better and began to get looser. Your body is toning itself.…
