  • Look up a training program. Someone said Hal Higdon, I second this! Here is the link to his novice 1 training plan http://halhigdon.com/training/51131/Half-Marathon-Novice-1-Training-Program I have run 3 halfs so far and love them!! If you don't have good running shoes you really should get a pair. Go to a running store…
  • World War Z :) Love me some zombies!
  • I run with my cane corso when the weather is cooler. He is around 110 lbs and I ALWAYS keep him on his leash. I have a choke collar for him so I can control him and he is ALWAYS in my control. He is NEVER allowed to act viciously towards another dog or person unless he is instructed to do so (he is a guard dog in training…
  • First of all if you run, no matter how long or how slow, you are a runner. If you want to be better, get outside and start running. It will be harder than the treadmill, initially, but will become easier. Look into couch to 5K, it is a great program that combines running and walking to get you running farther and faster.…
  • Like everyone else said, check to make sure that your shoes aren't too tight. Also, do you curl your toes when you run? I had that problem and the outsides of my feet would get tingly.
  • I will sometimes take a 10-15 minute cat nap to help rejuvenate myself. I am usually in bed around 10 or so and up around 5:30/6 and run around 6/6:30 and then go to work or school.
  • Light em' up-Fall out boy
  • I usually run in the AM. Look up the daily HIIT online. I will use my 8 year old as weights. He hops on my back and I get going.
  • Haha!!!
  • I get a vanilla latte with skim milk at Starbucks and apparently that means sugar free syrup also. I hate the artificial sweeteners that are in the skinny lattes. This only happens in the drive through, though...
  • Honestly, it sounds like she is jealous. Don't let her bring you down. What ever she says, let is go in one ear and out the other. Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like. There are amazing people on here that will give you the support you need.
  • So go! Stick to the pavement or dirt and you'll be fine. My brother and I ran in the rain on Sunday and it was fine.
  • My father was in one (not my mom) and it is one of the reasons that we don't talk. Everyone around him could see what kind of person she was and he refused to acknowledge it. They are (finally) getting divorced and hopefully him and I can repair our relationship. Most women use verbal abuse but there are some that do use…
  • Yes, slow down. Also, have you been tested for exercise induced asthma?
  • Olive oil and lemon pepper. Either grilled or baked.
  • I read an article a few weeks ago that said that runners should incorporate biking into their workouts because it will help them become a better runner and vice versa. I agree with primalrunner. Move your tri up a week.
  • Yes, yes, and yes to all of the above!!! As you more into running, you may want to look into a RoadID. It is a bracelet, or shoe tag that has your emergency information on it in case you can't talk. Biggest thing is to have fun! Feel free to add me! I love having running friends :)
  • I agree with this. Sometimes you just have to push through the tired legs. I get tired when I start too fast. I have to learn to start slower and speed up from there.
  • You are still in a normal BP limit. If your top number (systolic) falls below 90 and your bottom number (diastolic) falls below 60 that is low.
  • They are great dogs! I also have an Akbash, a lab/cattle mix, a cattle dog, and a cane corso. We kind of have a full house :)
  • Close, I have a German Shepard/Pit Bull mix (plus 4 others)
  • English Mastiff
  • I will sometimes run around 5:30/6 am, there usually aren't many bugs. I live on Colorado and lately it has been only 46-48 degrees in the mornings. I have gotten them in my eyes when running along the creek.
  • Great job! You must be so proud of yourself! Keep it up and you will find that runners are some of the best people that you will ever meet!
  • Run and cross train. This one was my first race last year and it was so much fun! You will run in short spurts and than wait in line for the obstacle, run, wait, etc. Make sure that you wear clothes that you won't mind getting filthy. Bring extra clothes (even undies), shoes, and a towel for afterwards. Most of all, HAVE…
  • If you are really serious about running make sure that you have good running shoes. Not ones from a box store, but go to a running store and have them fit you for shoes. It will take a while to get them to go away. There is a product called Roll Recovery, it's expensive, but works really well. Feel free to add me! I love…
  • This! No one cares what you look like! I notice the other runners, say hit to them and keep going. I couldn't remember anyone that I passes yesterday on the trail. Most runners are some of the nicest people that you will every meet. Put your music on (if you use it) and just go!
  • I love my Mizuno Wave Alchamy! This is my second pair. I have no arches and they really help with pronating.
  • Make sure that you have good running shoes, not the ones from a big box store, but go to a running store and have them fit you. They will watch how you run and put you in the best shoes for the way you run.
  • Anyone can add me! I love having motivational friends!
