  • I battle with this due to being a Christian. I'm taught that God created me this way and loves me just the way I am but I want to lose weight. How do you explain to other Christians who are comfortable with their Christian curves that I don't like this body and want it to be smaller. How can I believe that God gave me this…
  • I've been eating way too much. I thought starting small would help but maybe I haven't started small enough. Maybe I need to do it day by day...
  • I've realized there is no way to guess how many calories are in food when you are dining out. I've also realized that people will try and sabotage you (inadvertently) to make themselves feel better about their own eating habits. So, before any food hits these lips I have to make sure I KNOW exactly how many calories are in…
  • I don't have a lot of advice because I'm in the same boat. Right now it's a walk every now and again. I remember reading an article that said to incorporate your baby into your exercise. LIke do bicep curls with the baby and leg lifts with him on your legs, that kind of stuff.
  • I've not lost all my baby weight yet :( I'm just starting so I'm not much assistance. I've started really small so that I don't get overwhelmed. I've cut out soda and sweet tea and I'm logging daily. I'll be adding exercise soon.
  • I did! and you're welcome :)
  • When I started this last year pp I set my calorie goal to 1800. I think this was because the time before that I was exercising a lot more. Well, I reset my goals and now I get about 1570 calories a day. I've consistently been over my calorie goal every day. Much of my calories are coming from my morning coffee. Instead of…
  • That would be amazing to run a full marathon. I started on 5k's the year before last but I'd like to be able to run one from start finish.
  • Welcome! Glad to have you :)
  • Get up and move... I think I will have to remember that one. Not eating out for our family is difficult but we have to do better at this for health and money reasons.
  • I understand that! Last night MIL was taking pictures and I hid behind DH!
  • My husband dropped 30 lbs :( He works in a kitchen so he's on his feet moving (exercise) and he stopped eating so much. Now it's my turn to catch up to him.

  • Love carbs and sweets. Plus when cooking on a budget it's easy to use carbs as a filler.
  • I want to start walking but haven't been able to get into the habit. We've had family in for the last 4 weeks so we've not been able to get into a schedule.
  • I'm really glad I made the group. I've been part of groups on here before but I think because we "know" each other from a different part of our lives it will better motivate me. I only set two goals. 1) only water, coffee, unsweet tea (basically no soda or sugary drinks). 2) log my food every day. DH asked if I was going…

  • I'm already getting up at 5 to take care of baby and get ready for work. My husband takes care of the baby during day and then goes to work when I get home. It's making it difficult, in my mind, to schedule exercise.
  • Excellent goals! The great thing about these goals is that they are realistic and attainable.
  • mommyofjandj - we do have a running store near me. I bought a pair of running sneaks online but I don't think they were right for my feet. Once I lose some weight I'll probably be going to get fitted. kayeaman - Today was not my day either :(
  • did you run before? The first time I started this process I wanted to run but it always hurt the outside of my foot.
  • Those are great goals too! I am going to wait to schedule activity because my schedule is so up in the air right now. I know I will get discouraged when I don't get to it the way I want.
  • I like the idea of wearing the baby. I was taking LO for walks in his stroller but you probably burn more wearing LO. I'll have to try it out!
  • Those are great goals! The cookies will definitely be added to mine soon, lol. I love sweets and I know it's gotten out of hand for sure.
  • Hi!! I just had my son on 5/2 and am starting over again too. I'd love to be friends to give/get support. I can't imagine having been on bed rest but feel the same when it comes to exercise. I don't really know how I'm going to manage but I'm going to try!
  • On days that I'm super low on my cals (usually weekends if I sleep in) I will drink a glass of milk or a spoonful of peanut butter. Not bad calories but a good 100+.
  • thanks for sharing!
  • I love it. Just don't quit if you aren't doing it perfectly, you will be doing it fabulously in just a few days. Follow the schedule post above for your first go round and you should be fine.
  • The Shred is pretty tough because you are working the same muscles pretty much without rest. Just keep moving through it, sometimes you might have to pause a few seconds but don't stop. After a few days you won't have to keep pausing. I started with a group here on 07/01 and we are following the below schedule and then…
  • Amazing and really helps to put things in perspective.
  • I am doing Jilliam Michaels 30 Day Shred. It's only 20 minutes and during the week I usually end up doing this DVD at 9-9:30 at night. You just have to take it one day at a time. When I really don't feel like exercising I just remind myself that on this day next year I will have wished I started right then. This helps me…
