  • Instead of a "shake" have you tried keto coffee? Regular coffee with heavy whipping cream (not regular sweetened whipped cream though!), coconut oil (or MCT oil), and/or butter? You can add a sugar-free flavoring or carb free sweetener also. That usually keeps me full until late afternoon and helps get the fats in with out…
  • I'm a 38DD also, and have found champion brand sports bras at TJ Maxx that work amazingly well and were only about $12-$15. The only down sides to the ones I have is that they kind of smoosh your boobs into a uniboob, and they can be difficult to get out of (they are the ones with the racer back, not the hooks or zippers).…
  • I had horrible luck with pretty much every form of bc I've tried except for my Mirena IUD. The down side to that? It took me from the time I was 18 until I was 28 before I could find a doctor to let me get one. They also wouldn't do the implant for me. Here in the North East US apparently the view point is that they have…
  • Exactly. I was one of the last runners to cross the finish line, but everyone was still cheering and excited for me. And I still ran it faster than my fiance who didn't run it at all! lol
  • I just finished my first one today! My time was no where near as good as all of yours though. I finished in 47:42. But hey, considering I only just finished week 6 of c25k and pulled something in my back, I'll take it! lol
  • I believe so. I'm not super familiar with the area myself. You should see a group of people right outside and you'll know you're in the right place. I'm Leigh-Ann by the way :) Hope to see you there!

  • Anyone in the Essex Junction area? I have a friend who is a fitness trainer and is starting a free fit club on Tuesday nights. It will be at the Albert D Lawton school on River Rd in Essex Jct near Five Corners and starts at 6:30 each week. All ages and fitness levels are encouraged to come and have some fun and get a work…

  • Good luck! I'm running my first one 8/11, and, just like you, I won't have finished my c25k program yet! lol Please post again when you're back from it to let us know how it went :)
  • oh, and for the record, I am 5'5", 235 lbs. I have my goals set up to loose 2 pounds a week with a sedentary lifestyle. I record my exercise and eat my calories back. I think on here it does have me at 1250 calories before exercise, and when I had it set at active lifestyle around 1450. There are days that I have gone over…
  • Well, I'm in my mid 30's with a desk job, so I guess I'm close enough to your mom's situation, and I have done the South Beach diet in the past too, so I know how that battle with the carbs goes. For me, I package out my "snacks" for work ahead of time now (usually on Sunday, but depending on what it is maybe the day…
  • Hey there! I struggle with the drinking with the man thing too. When you drink with him, do you feel you have to drink to "fit in" or do you want to get drunk with him? I used to think those were the same for me, but now I've found that I don't really need to get drunk all the time. Now I'll have a wine spritzer (wine…
  • Congrats on the anniversary!!!!!!!!!!! Vacation sounds better than 5k to me any day :)

  • That's exactly what the couch to 5 k plan is all about. When I started, it was hard. I'm 32, 5'5", started at 247 lbs, have a bad back and a bum ankle, and haven't run in more than 12 years! I did the first day, and just was a big wobbly, out-of-breath mess. I took my rest day and started the 2nd day. Guess what? It wasn't…

  • Hello everyone! Not sure if anyone else enjoys running (notice I said enjoys, not is good at!), but dealchicken has a deal ending today for half off the price of the pirate 5k on August 11th at the Burlington waterfront. I just signed up, and this is going to be my first 5k!!!!!!! Anyone else planning on doing this?

  • Love this!!! :)
  • Today was week 5 day 1 for me. I'm using the rundouble app, so I'm not sure if the days match up entirely. Today was 5 minutes running, 3 minutes walking repeated 3 times. Day 2 has an 8 minute run, 5 minute walk, 8 minute run. Day 3 is a 20 minute run! Definitely worried about that one! But so far I'm loving it!
  • Not saying you weren't being honest! I've seen quite a few people posting who say that they have their activity level set to active or very active, and then are logging in their regular activities again as exercise too. That's double counting calories burned, and so they aren't getting the same net calories. Same thing if…
  • A lot of times the iron in the vitamins is what causes the stomach issues. You could try to switch to one that doesn't have iron in it (or a different form or amount) and see if that helps. Then you just need to find a source for iron in your regular foods (lots more options that way!
  • A couple of devil's advocate posts: 1. Health insurance already has the option (and chooses to use the option) of charging higher premiums to smokers than non smokers. This is to help off-set the extra cost of medical care the a smoker needs on average compared to a non-smoker. (BTW, I am a non-smoker for 3 months now, but…
  • You should be eating back your exercise calories. When you set up your MFP profile you filled in your information and it gives you a calorie goal based on your own situation. This already has a deficit built in for you. So if you were honest in setting it up, you should eat them back to give your body enough fuel to keep…
  • I started having back problems while I was still in good shape and at a healthy weight. I have been told I have arthritis, hypolordosis, slight scoliosis, that my coxyx fused abnormally, have one hip higher than the other, and most recently, just poor musculature. And those are just the "doctors" not physical therapists or…
  • Thanks! I was thinking of maybe doing a second run today from week 2 with more walking than running just to see how it went. I'll see how it goes and how I feel tomorrow! lol
  • Been using them 1 or 2 times a day for about a month now and have lost 7 pounds and almost a pants size (don't have a measuring tape for inches, just based on how things are fitting). I switch between the ready to drink ones and the total lean 25 powders. I find that they both keep me feeling pretty full and satisfy my…
  • Hello neighbors! I've been living in Vermont for about 8 years, and before that was in extreme upstate NY. Been on MFP for about a month now and love it!

  • Brush a little extra virgin olive oil on some aluminum foil and add sliced veggies (we usually do potatoes, onion, garlic and peppers, but you can use anything that you have and like). Fold the foil up into little packets and toss into the hot coals of a camp fire. The oil is just to stop the veggies from sticking and…
  • Not sure if its an option for you, but I do my runs through the graveyard. Its a mixture of gravel roads and paved, and very large with lots of different sections. I see a few people from time to time either running or walking, and if I do see a service going on I just move to a different section and keep going. For me,…
