  • Hi, I hear you and I'm right there with you. I have had some struggles in this area, myself. I am experimenting with my sodium intake. I'm trying to stay between 1500 and 2000 mg per day. Key word there is "trying". I find that the weight is coming off when I keep my sodium in that range. I think it's because I'm eating…
  • Very well said!! sweat and sacrifice aren't bad things, they make our accomplishments that much sweeter!
  • Well, I did not complete Week 4 day 2... Last Wednesday, during my workout I tweaked my hip. Today when I started jogging, my hip started hurting. I tried, but decided not to push it. I switched from podrunner to pandora and listened to music while on the treadmill for a total of 75 minutes. I walked mostly for 4.5 miles.…
  • I'm 49 and I lately I feel as though I'm in a constant state of PMS... crampy, back aches, irritable, bloating and cravings, without the relief of TOM. Just where is the users' manual for this??? Will someone share a bright side to this?
  • Today I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by the thought of completing week 4 day 2. I will do it, and check in when I'm done. :ohwell:
  • Hi Everyone, I'd like to join this group if Im not too late. I've been doing Couch25k and am on week 4 day 2 using podrunner first day to 5k. I would love to give and get support on this journey, as well as accountability. Week 4 day 1 was tough for me. I ran most of the running intervals. Nancy
  • I agree... I want to be healthy, and fit, as long as it takes to get there.... I'm done trying to fit into someone else's idea, or what the media thinks is acceptable. Maybe that's why I'm "comfortably single".
  • I agree with you!
  • Looking at the view from the top, I feel you're phobia of heights. What an amazing accomplishment. High five!!! Enjoy your accomplishment! Nancy
  • I recently discovered www.podrunner.com and I'm loving it! I'm doing the "first day to 5K". It give me a steady beat/pace that I need.
  • I found a free podcast that I love.... www.podrunner.com. The one I'm using is interval training called "First Day to 5K". Good Luck and have fun!
  • Thought provoking.... thanks! Bump
  • I just downloaded podrunner, and have used it twice. It's amazing!!! I also go through it almost twice. It's helping my form by slowing me down. I think I've found a fix to some of my running challenges. Podrunner.com (First Day to 5k), for you beginning runners, give it a try.
  • I hope this makes sense.... IMHO the term "skinny" means different things to different people. Similar to "spicy". What's spicy to one person, isn't necessarily spicy to another person. "Healthy" can be measured. I am working on being healthy and fit. Nancy
  • It causes me to reconsider quitting smoking....momentarily 
  • It also helped me sleep at night when all was quiet and the panic of being fat hit...
  • My most used statement....
  • Here's an update that I'm excited to share.... I'm not sure that I'll be able to run the entire 5k Thanksgiving morning. I would love to, but somehow that isn't as important as it used to be a couple of months ago. I've come so far, and changed my lifestyle so much preparing for the 5K, I feel like running it, is just…
  • Bump :flowerforyou:
  • I found something I wanted to do more.... I just quit 10/29/10. I registered for a 5K on Thanksgiving morning. I bought new running shoes. I started the C25K, and couldn't get past 2 minutes of running at a time. I couldn't understand why... Great friend, motivator and inspiration told me to quit smoking for the weekend,…
  • I had 2 servings (3/4 cup each) of cinnamon toast crunch cereal instead of the one serving I logged... And a bag of ff microwave popcorn while watching Biggest Loser. How many calories do you burn watching Biggest Loser, anyway? :blushing:
  • Hi! I have a Polar F11. This is my second HRM. I use it every time I work out. I don't know about any other types, but the F11 gives me weekly totals (duration, frequency, intensity). It motivates me to do better than the last week. I also like monitoring my improvement over time. I'm not competitive, but I am very…
  • I've learned that food is fuel, not comfort.
  • I increased my workouts too... to combat the possible weight gain, to concur the cravings, and as a reminder of how well I can breath during intense cardio workout. Great job!
  • Remember - this isn't JUST about losing excess pounds - it is about becoming a healthier and happier person. Losing excess pounds is simply a bi-product of the JOURNEY!! I agree!!! A healthy lifestyle is a life long journey, one choice at a time. Enjoy the journey :flowerforyou: Nancy

  • Great Job!!! I quit last Friday because my friend told me that If I really wanted to run, I'd have to quit. We made a plan... I quit for the weekend, and we'd run the 5K race route that I registered for on Thanksgiving morning. No smoking all weekend, and I ran way better on Monday. I promised myself that I wouldn't smoke…
  • Hi, Being scared is fine as long as you don't let it hold you back. At the gym I go to, the music is loud, room is dark, and everyone is focused on their own workout. Go early, and let the instructor know you're new. She/He will help you set up your bike and encourage you to go at your own pace. The first time (won't be…
  • Be careful...you might get promoted...:blushing:
