  • Thanks everyone for your responses. As hard as it has been to let it rest I have been trying to do that and I've been icing it, wearing a brace etc. My thought was overuse as well but who has time to let it rest! ???? our mts finally got snow!!! I'm planning on calling an orthopedist today. I'd rather be safe than sorry…
  • Thanks for the ideas Steve. Starting to think about getting back into the swing of things since having my baby. :)
  • Congratulations!! I agree with everyone...you have done amazing and are a wonderful example of what can be accomplished if you set your mind to something! Awesome job. Keep up the great work. What a great post to look back at if anyone is ever discouraged. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
  • i totally know what you mean. my sister and i joke that sometimes we feel the only reason we work out is so we can eat the extra calories back. i am pregnant right now though and trying to cut more sugar out. i agree with what someone else said about try having some sort of treat in moderation....when i tell myself I can't…
  • i just made some ranch tonight using blended lowfat cottage cheese to get all the chunks out and then a hidden valley packet. i thought it tasted great and my kids didn't even notice the difference. much healthier than sour cream! or mayo!
  • her pineapple bliss cupcakes and chocolate supermoist cupcakes wth chocolate glazes were both really good. i made her whole wheat blueberry muffins tonight with a few changes and they actually weren't that tasty. I'm not a whole wheat flour person though so maybe that's why...i subbed the sugar for agave and the melted…
  • Thanks everyone! You've given me lots of good suggestions to check out!
  • ya really hrm is the best thing. even during the weight exercises it's nice to see my hr and what my total calorie burn is. Even in the same workout my calorie burn changes from week to week so the hrm really is a good way to track it. As my body has gotten more fit I don't seem to burn quite as much as I did in my first…
  • I wouldn't recommend it. Part of the purpose is certain exercises working together and keeping your heart rate up to get the calorie burn. I don't think you'll get nearly the same results by splitting it up. Good luck! There is p90x thread with lots of newbies and veterans if you need/want any more advice! just realized a…
  • I have a suunto t3c (the c stands for coded so you don't get interference from anything, i had one before that was not coded and it would not work when i was working out with my husband who was wearing a coded one. this can also be a problem if you workout at a gym where others may be wearing them). The suunto is pretty…
  • hmm...maybe you need to rethink your trainer and gym's dietician? If it doesn't sound right it probably isnt. You know your body best. Definitely don't be lifting the same muscles everyday. I've heard calves and abs can be an exception to that rule but they also need time to heal and rebuild. Your protein should probably…
  • Hi there, whatever you do don't give up! you've come so far and everyone has had some great advice. Maybe your goal weight is too low, maybe you need to bump up your cardio (that was my problem awhile ago). have you tried incorporating weights into your workouts? muscle burns more than fat so that can help, plus it looks…
  • I've gotta agree with Taryn. It can seem long but it really is so beneficial. I'm on my 2nd round and I was not a big fan of it my first round but I had to learn to change my mindset and now I actually look forward to it. If you have time you can google a youtube video of Tony talking about the importance of yoga, it was…
  • I appreciate your comments and was not trying to offend you, hence the retract and smiley face! Sometimes I quote or name inviduals so others that read the thread will know what's going on or what I'm referring to. I agree that there are other programs that deliver results but since Cassia wasn't asking about other…
  • you obviously have never tried it and here's my ??? why make up your own when there is one out there already??? sorry, i think I'm overly sensitive as I think this is an awesome program and I hate to see people bash it. Getting ripped does take work but it is possible. Diet makes up a huge part in that. anyway...i'm…
  • I totally agree with Canuckfit and some of the others. Not sure what Stroutman81 has against it, maybe it's taking away his clients, haha! :) Ok, I just read stroutman's last post so I take back my previous comment! :) I am a believer in p90x. p90x takes all the guesswork out. whether you belong to a gym or not it's all…
  • I have done this too! It's definitely a fun way to burn calories. I find if I jump around inbetween moves and songs I burn even more. It's a fun way to mix up your cardio workout!
  • There is a P90X post with lots of people that have completed multiple rounds of p90x. A lot of them have moved on to Insanity and a hybrid of insanity and p90x. Might be worth a shot or you could see if they have any advice. The thread is p90x starting a new thread, under fitness and exercise. They are all very helpful and…
  • i've tried parts of it! I've used a lot of the recipes and you can find even more online and I did the workout for about a month or so but then decided to try P90X. I liked the weight lifting exercises but needed some more cardio and the elliptical and walking just wasn't cutting it for me! The book really seems to make…

  • it's raining here in seattle too so I can't wait to try this recipe! thanks.
  • do you have to use cake flour? I want to try those but don't want to run to the store! i wonder how subbing applesauce for the oil would be?
  • wow, i know everyone has said this but you truly look amazing...like a whole different person! you were pretty before and now how great that you are pretty and healthy!
  • thanks for sharing!
  • Calendar age is 29.6 My real age is 25.7 whoo hoo! must be doing something right! i think i've seen this before but thanks for sharing it again!
  • that is so awesome. you look great. keep up the good work and before you know it you'll be in your skinny clothes! that's great you've been taking pictures, you really do look good.
  • I know it's hard but it is definitely better to rest and let your knee heal properly otherwise you risk further injury. Just keep making good food choices and maybe see if you can do some type of upper body workout. Maybe that will help you feel better since you can't do cardio or anything that effects your knee! Hang in…
  • I've read sometimes 2 shorter ones can be better as they gear up your metabolism at two different times instead of just once!? I'm sure anything you do will be better than nothing. Just work hard during both of those workouts! Good luck!
  • check out the abs diet recipes online (you can just google it). they have a ton of smoothie recipes that will help you get some nutrtitious food and calories and taste yummy. Plus, I've found it's always easier to sip down 200 or so calories in a drink then eating sometimes. Maybe just try incorporating some new healthy…
  • I have a suunto t3 (which is still sold in some stores, but many only carry the t4 now). It's definitely one that you need to skim the manual but once you do that it's pretty cool. It has a training effect that keeps a log of all your workouts, including hr with your avg and peak hr, calories, time, there's a whole list.…
  • has anyone tried to add more applesauce in place of the oil? then they'd be even healthier? maybe i'll try!
