It's great to live in a world where you're not controlled by food.

The "problem" with associating weight loss goal and happiness is that if you're not happy when you hit that number, then you will put the weight back on again. Like you said, you are hoping your whole life will change when you reach goal weight. It won't. Your life is what you choose to make of it regardless of what the…

I was happy before losing weight. Now I just look much better. I don't associate happiness with being thin or fit or rich or tall or young, etc. Happiness is a state of being, not a state of having.

Eat your dinner. Drink water. Have some ice cream for dessert.

Depends on what percentage of macros he wants you to hit on a daily basis. You need to find out. Low carb and low fat by themselves mean nothing.

Eat snacks and breakfast.

Eat what makes you feel fit, energetic, nourished and healthy. If that is the paleo lifestyle, so be it. if not, then find something that fits for you. The mentality toward "diets" on this forum (on the part of some, not all) is akin to religion where some people want their God and their path to be the only truth. It's…

Not everyone goes to the gym because of weight loss goals. If your goal is weight loss then yeah you're going to have to watch your calorie intake.

It happened pretty quickly. Each week, I got stronger and more capable. But the flip side is that if you stop working out, you lose it all even faster.

I've been to a couple of Barre classes and they were among the toughest workouts I've done. Core or no core, my legs and butt felt like jelly when I was done!
-
What do you do for 4 hours at the gym every day?

Strength training can also be a cardio workout. Keep your HR up and move quickly from one exercise to the other with some short intense spurts of cardio in between such as jump squats, pushups, sprints, etc. That's what I do anyway and it works.

Food per se does not make people gain weight. Habits and choices do. I don't avoid cookies. I choose not to eat them because my premise is that my weight loss of 122 lbs tastes better (because of the choices I make) than a cookie feels. I'm not disagreeing with you nor am I trying to analyze you (as you are doing with…

Congratulations! They are not easy. I do love them though. It's very gratifying to see how you can do more and more with practice.

I don't have issues. I have choices. I choose not to eat cookies. It's really that simple.
-
FANTASTIC transformation!! Keep up the hard work. You look wonderful and so happy.

This thread is entertaining and I appreciate the tongue-in-cheek spirit. For me, no cookie is worth going back to 260lbs. I know for sure that letting cookies back into my life would lead to a slow but steady decline. I don't mean to rain on your parade but cookies don't taste better than 138lbs feel, in my case.

It's 2 lbs. Don't fret so much. The stress will make you put on another 10 lbs.

I've been running for about 8 months now and have yet to find it easier, exhilarating, joyful, etc. It's still a pain in the *kitten* but i do it anyway because it helps me burn calories. I started with C25K in July and just started Hal Higdon's program for a 10K. I don't think every person is meant to be a runner. Too…

Don't say no; just eat less of them.

Fantastic reply and also a timely reminder for me.

In all fairnes we're just reading one side of the argument so it's kinda hard to say whether she is wrong and you are right or vice versa.

Ypu look wonderful! Strong, lean and healthy. Great work.

1. Insufficient calories. 2. Low on protein. 3. Food is not spread out evenly through the day. 4. Eat more calorie dense foods.
-
That's a great post. Very explanatory.

I've lost 119lbs and I am past 40. You can do it too unless you have an underlying medical condition that needs to get checked out. But even so, you can still lose weight. Yes, it does come back on very, very easily. This is the biggest commitment I've made in my life...other than being a parent.
-
That doesn't turn me on. Glad you enjoy the food you eat. I'm sure others enjoy theirs too.
-
You look like Eva Longoria! Great job with your weight loss. Keep up the work.

I don't eat any of the foods you list not because I'm into cleansing but because they are all major migraine triggers for me.
