Age 40, in the UK, don't do Insanity but regular weight lifting and karate. I struggle with fatigue and injury all the time but I don't give up!!! I eat good, I eat bad, I try to curb the latter but I'm only human. I keep a small group of friends only or I'd never keep up with that either lol. Feel free to friend me if…

I chose to increase my calories to 1400. I was ok on 1200 for a few weeks, then I found that I was way too tired and had very little strength. The easiest way to make the most out of your calories is (IMO) to eat 'clean' for example, fresh meat and veg for lunch and dinner. You get a lot more food for your calorie…

I thought I was too old to ever get thin again, too. I'm 39. This site has taught me so much and I now understand where I was going wrong. I've lost alot more weight than I have in years and years, and I am happy to take it slow and I hope with my fitness plan and by watching what I eat on here, I will get the results I…

You could look into New Rules of Lifting For Women, subtitled 'lift like a man, look like a godess'. You'd have to buy or borrow the book. It's a 6 month programme that is designed to help you progress throughout it. It's in several stages, the first stage focusing on building your strength in big compound movements. I've…

Heavy for one person is light for another and vice versa. Lifting heavy is about lifting heavy FOR YOU. You are very sensible to start at a weight you are comfortable with. When you have figured out how to get your form correct then you can start increasing the weight and be happy that you're doing it safely. Best of luck…

I find it most difficult when friends want me to go to their house for dinner, or to take me out for dinner. My family and friends are GREAT about it, and will always ask me where I can go and what I can/can't eat, but I do feel a bit awful being the one to limit our options all the time. However, even though I sometimes…
